The TAB wanted to double their account numbers John Allen said at one of their public meetings. They were offering a free $20 to anyone joining the TAB and downloading their mobile App a couple of months ago. Sure this might add new members in the short term but not sure getting new members is as important as retaining them and making them spend more. Probably better than what they used to give out years ago which was nothing. This recent trend is too little too late.
With regards to Operation Inca and now the attack on the RIU I will be quite happy to tie the noose myself when someone has been convicted, but what happened to innocent until proven guilty?
Too many are treating all as guilty on hearsay without:
A. Knowing any of the facts
B. Seeing any of the evidence
Disgraceful!
No but the public do jump to ridiculous conclusions, for example almost every second post here in the last two weeks, and I would not be surprised if some drivers and trainers believed it was just not worth the hassle talking to the media.
Calling all trainers childish and moronic on public forums will go down well with them though!
I can see their point. You can not force the trainers and drivers to tip if they do not want to. Maybe the galah should ring all the drivers and trainers and post their tips here for us to see.
A mate who was at the court today said apart from the reporting coming direct from court the the judges biggest telling off of the day went to Martin Van Beyen for publishing the names of several people before it went to trial.
He reckoned Police also got a blasting for briefing the press.
Not really. Sit and sprinter but never got carted into it before the turn on a leaders track. Victim of circumstances may not have placed if he did all the work himself.
I agree with the fact that DadnDave was surprisingly short but don't think you will get Brodie to admit the bookies got the price right. It goes against his I am always right mentality.
No you missed the point. When the bookies all around the world set the odds ideally they will be trying to get the opening fixed odds as close to the closing tote odds as possible. The big descrepancies or differences in opening fixed odds to closing tote odds are normally where the bookmakers lose money. In this case (Dadndave) the bookies were almost exactly right. If Dadndave closed at $10 on the tote then you would be right but in this case you are not on the money.
You would be better pointing out the big descrepancies between prices after the race to make your point where they got it wrong. At this stage the TAB bookies will just be laughing at you.
Disclaimer: I have some UK booktrading experience from several years ago
Just stating the facts as usual. You said It opened up way too short yet the tote closing price was lower than the opening price so it they opened it over the odds to what the public thought the price was.
What did you think should have been the opening price?
