  1. Fleet’s Pocket has left eighteen foals of racing age and fifteen have won races. That must be some sort of record you would think for either Harness or Thoroughbred horses https://harnesslink.com/new-zealand/the-mighty-flying-fleets-pocket/
  2. And there is more than 30 minutes between each race. That will put a few off. $600 on the tote place and $1000 in the quinella pool for the first race not great reading either.
  3. Haven't heard much of anything from him for the last few months
  4. Would have to be a manual all-up as TAB did away with all-up betting a while ago.
  5. Almost all the horses in that race are very good beginners so that helps as well.
  6. Just make it up as you go should be their motto as that is what happens most of the time.
  7. Terrible track for betting on. Hard watch if you are on the horse in the trail and it never gets a go. One of the few tracks I will not have a bet on now.
  8. Abernethy can rate a horse in front and I used to back him all the time when they had the grass track racing in the North. Got some big collects as he always paid great money. I find the Nicky Chilcott stable difficult to line up. She goes through strong patches where all her horses are firing, then long periods, like the last three weeks, where the form drops away. Wait until one shows form then back them all.
  9. Upstage into Andarta multi with the driver change was good value. Be interesting to see what Iron Heart does although that field does look a bit stronger.
  10. I am surprised Kurow lasted this long... Rain on a NZ country track spells abandoned 50% of the time
  11. It looked a good bet on paper. Wilson house trying to win the junior premiership so the horses are ready to go. Leaders track and it crossed The Mantis (a fast horse off the gate) when it won at Timaru in a 1:59 mile rate. Sweet Lous go good on grass. Only surprising thing was the price. I thought it would come in not go out.
  12. Not the House stable. They get them up at double figure odds quite regularly. Got a good collect off Sweet Willow yesterday at 50-1. You never see a telfer horse win paying more than $5.00. In fact most of them are sub $2.50.
  13. Agree Also groundhog day for slow results from Motukarara ...will be 15mins before we know results for every race for some reason. 11mins and nothing for the second so far
  14. Thats why grass is so popular with punters. Those bigger stables can not dominate like they can on the grit.
  15. Just back Tim Williams when he is on them. They seem to fire for him. Dickie not much of a driver since he came back from Australia. Seems to end up parked or no room on too many horses that should be winning. He can still get one home if he is in front. Several drivers like that in the South as well. Cox, Smith and a few of the girls Green, Tomlinson's, Thornley's you want to be on them if they are in front or trail but no thanks if they are back in the field. Up the middle with no room the norm.
  16. TAB is even worse
  17. Early Quaddie $5.10 Very enticing.
  18. This had been the norm for months now. I suppose the managers are still getting their high salaries paid so no need to worry about basic customer facing infrastructure.
  19. Great fields and 12 races. Bring on Christmas holiday racing.
  20. Out of Bernie, Michelle and Crystal I would have Crystal on my horses vs the other two any day of the week. She is night and day better than Bernie and Michelle.
  21. Entain owned bookmakers in Australia are much worse. Ladbrooks, Neds etc just hand out flat out bans without notice. Not many restriction notices just an email saying words to the effect "We wish to advise that following a recent review, we have decided to close your account" They always like to rub it in on these emails with a laughable ending like "We appreciate your understanding in this matter" I have had them all from nearly every bookmaker in Aussie
  22. Well the bookmakers have to fit all the runners into an opening percentage of 133 - 140% They can't have them all short or the math doesn't work. If they open some too short then there must be some too long as well.
  23. New Zealand but get cracking Brodie as they are not very good at it. I can see it being AI priced and AI traded in the future.
  24. I remember saying this a long time ago on here that once the UK customer risk framework arrived on our shores then there would be more restrictions and complete bans from some bet types.
  25. The single biggest source of funding for NZ harness racing is wagering. Hence why they try to keep the Brodies of this world away from taking away too much profit. Also why they need optimal field sizes of 10 or more to keep the funding going and not decreasing.
