  1. So you don't like the very worst horses and you don't like the other end of the scale the All Stars who have the very best. You are living in a mediocre fantasy land.
  2. Not sure which plan is more flawed. Brodies plan to take millions off the distribution to harness by letting everybody win or the TAB taking millions off turnover. One thing is for sure. The TAB is run by Aussies following the Aussie bookies rule book for risk management so Brodie you have to get the Aussies to stop restrictions first before having any chance of stopping NZ restrictions. Good luck with that by the way!
  3. Depends if you win or not! Any of the Ladbrooke bookmakers will ban you without comeback if you are consistently winning. I have been banned from all of the Ladbrooke related sites. William Hill restricted but not banned!
  4. Someone will fall off the Addington photo platform and they will do away with it. Only a matter of time!
  5. That fog was weird. Pea soup for 40mins and then gone
  6. No not at all, I like to argue facts. Not far fetched theories such as "Grant Ross from looking at him in the cart live, and from videos he is clearly lighter than the other mentioned driver!" Why jump to ridiculous conclusions and personal attacks instead of coming up with some concrete evidence for your side of the story.
  7. most of his theories are "far-fetched"
  8. Not sure. I am guessing 95kg, but how heavy would he have to be far heavier than Grant who is 95kg?
  9. Two wins. Good effort! Some trainers never train a winner.
  10. No just pointing out he is not far heavier
  11. Even Grant himself is saying he will never make it as a driver because he is too big and heavy. Chris Thornley must be a 120kg monster as Brodie reckons he is far heavier
  12. Not sure if you are on the money there Brodie. I am 6 foot and 90kg and I reckon Grant is a head taller than me and more solid.
  13. You will be big on Jessica Young then Brodie. She would be the lightest of them all.
  14. What odds you giving of Sugarinspice not placing again Brodie.? Will be watching with baited breath every time that one starts now.??? Lets see if you are on the money with that one.
  15. At least you know what you are going to get. 1. Locked away on the fence flashing home late unlucky. 2. Mad as a snake lead at all costs going backwards before the turn.
  16. Jeez decent jolt in CHCH just now!
  17. Thats the sort of driver I want on the ones I back! Sacrificing his money to get the win. Well done Ricky although I thought you eased up a bit on the line there. Suppose if you got beat could just say due to the 10 hit rule I had to stop hitting. Nothing they could do.
  18. I agree. On a $20 shot not many would notice or care, but on a $2.00 hot favorite that went around and sat parked last start and was narrowly beaten, to not put the horse in the race today deserves more than a slap on the hand. She would be doing a few days on the sidelines for that drive in other countries. I got a couple of dollars of the place six that would have been a quarter of the price had she placed, so I am like Brodie, she did me a favor in the end, but still would be good to see the stipes grow a pair in these situations.
  19. " Miss Ottley explained that the three wide line had failed to progress forward resulting in her becoming poorly positioned towards the rear of the field" Thats why it was an incompetent drive she never put the horse in the race. Its not the other drivers fault for not moving it is her fault for not inching around the field to the death like last start. Gee the drivers must really have a good chuckle to themselves as they can literally say anything they like and the stipes just agree. Note to drivers: Put Sams comment in the excuse book the next time you find yourself in the same situation.
  20. It was about 1985-86 when I got 2 units of the trifecta in the Rowe Cup the year Mairo Sultan won and Landoras Pride was second. Trifecta paid about $2500 from memory. 5K was a lot of money for a 14year old back then. Picked it straight. Those were the days.
  21. If I had 50 of the best bred yearlings in the country I would throw away all the 1 and 2 winners and just keep the open class ones too. Makes sense to me. Why would you keep crap horses that might win 2 or three races and not pay the bills when you can race ones that can win a derby?
  22. I am picking Ultimate Machete will be sub $3.00 on Cup day $5.50 good value for mine.
  23. I say bollocks to that! I blame the lack of new young trainers in the North that could replace older trainers who retire, pass on etc. The price of land and the traffic in Auckland must also have an impact. One stable is not to blame for this.
  24. It might be flawed but the truth is racing turnover in general is on the decline so the only way the guys on the big salaries can justify keeping their jobs is to copy the risk management style of overseas bookies to get the yield up in the face of dropping turnover. All I see for winning punters is lower restrictions coming or total bans all together.
  25. The spirit of bookmaking ended with the corporate bookies in the UK several years ago and over the last 4-5 years has slowly permeated to firstly Aussie and now NZ. You are lucky if you can get get $5 on a horse in the UK now I hear.
