  1. Right on Gabriel
  2. I saw the advert and cringed at the mistakes--fastest? richest? -nope and wondered why the ad on freeview when the race would not be available for viewing there It all sounds a bit Sanitarian to me
  3. Free to air T V is the key to racing having a future
  4. Unfortunately disqualifed ? Get real -the horse was doped Just like a stablemate with bute Human error -lol
  5. Face facts Whip use has already stopped in some countries and Australasia may be the last to get sensible
  6. The trotting people showed how to avoid whipping horses -when the N Zcup field turned for home the two favourits were clear and the drivers pulled their whips -and whipped each other and continued to do so even after pulling up Trackside should replay the film
  7. I would not mind a few -grey or not
  8. I referred to a Stable apprentice and to a Stable jockey -not hard to work out -even young Holi would get it
  9. A disgruntled punter? [lol] I seldom have a bet these days other than on my own horses but as you are being rude here is a bit of useless trivia --I once made the largest bet [of its type] ever taken by the N Z Tab -the receipted ticket is held in an Australian private racing museum. But back to the subject -yes. it is hard to believe the stewards are so blind when one sees so many given a quiet run. perhaps it is a matter of not rocking the boat, just like there was a shortage of jockeys looming recently and suddenly the usual suspensions dropped to few.
  10. Best be a bit careful -some outfits do not like criticism and lawyer up . Years ago I had a horse in said stable and still remember the forklift arriving with the bill.
  11. Have a look at a Te Rapa race a month or two back -stable apprentice rides furiously to lead at an over fast [ridiculous] pace while stable jockey sits at the rear on the plunge horse and wins It was blatant in my view but no questions asked, I would appreciate your opinion
  12. It is time the Stewards got serious about both team riding and horses not trying to win because they have richer targets in view There has been a lot lately and John Oatham needs to act.
  13. When the Te Rapa club went to the dogs ? They decided to do away with owners coulors and use those related to horse numbers -just like the dogs do-red for number one etc-by the time it got down to numbers 15 to 20 it was plain stupid and hilarious Lasted two days ........................
  14. Where ate the facts and figures that show how much the yearling buyers contribute to the stakes? Or is there a surplus?
  15. He rode exactly to instructions
  16. I cannot see how the horses can be put out when it was the VRC stewards who determined Pinn could claim 3kgs Said stewards should have to show cause as to why they keep their jobs
  17. Correct Chief With 50% never winning the money should go to the support crew- not to those that do not need it Items like NZTR rip offs for a change of ownership, naming, stud book and onto the high costs like transport, noms and acceptances It is the overall cost of participation that needs to be addressed -not rewards for the already successful,
  18. The respondent -Walker -asked for the B sample to be tested -cost around $2500 "TE Akau" were not the respondent and not directly involved so comments re them seem unwarranted.
  19. Nothing cryptic -the point of two samples is to compare them, validate the result
  20. And 3 kgs is gold
  21. I Wonder what the concentration was in the B sample
  22. I think it was a lessor amount but with a big increase of chaffhage.
  23. Thinking back I remember a very fat first starter . so fat I asked the owner trainer what he fed and he said it ran with his cows and was given a bucket of milk morning and night -it won, and went onto good form with a public trainer. Another owner trainer fed bread returns and reject carrots I guess times have changed a bit
