It isnt 100% Marks fault but he was definetly a big problem in the CD I honestly do not believe most businesses will be hurt from one or two people not spending there compared to the other few 100/1000 that do. It isnt hard to see why sponsors want little to do with the industry in its current state. Worse part is people blame SAFE or Aaron Cross for this when in reality, they've had to do pretty much nothing. The fault lies with the people in charge who are to afraid to make the tough decisions that need to be made

The industry is already on its last limbs Many people are leaving the industry. The current model is simply unsustainable Not many young ones are coming through Betting is down Wanganui recently lost some of it's largest sponsors Racing has lost its social license.

$200? Surely that was meant to be a joke. Id spend $40 on my retired dogs food a week. Let alone 40 racedogs

From a punters perspective, surely the race should have been abandoned because Thrilling Tucker could have easily finished first 4 with how well he was traveling when tripping over the ducks. Surely there are rules in place where an incident like this should be an automatic no race? Or the dogs scratched? I'm sure someone has the rules around these types of incidents

I mean the grnz apparently set a precedent with us a few years ago where they were supposedly putting their foot down on situations like the current cole situation. Its interesting that they never went through with it though beyond the one property.

Not worth the time in my honest opinion plus the way the current rules are written for all 3 codes, the governing bodies do have full discretion to either grant or deny a license without reason. I definitely wouldn't throw around the word 'undesirable' within the racing industry when they seem to just make these terms up as they go along and don't have any real criteria for who they consider undesirable

The reason in the original report was for charges they had me on at the time which were thrown out by the JCA. The second report gave no real reason other than I am an undesirable and shouldn't be granted a license due to a bunch of baseless claims about me which have no real weight behind them at all

I don't think the RIU know what they consider to be an undesirable person within the industry. I have never been fined under the rules of racing or charged under the crimes act and the RIU consider me an undesirable person to have within the industry. I have several reports they have written on me describing me as such every time I have reapplied for a license

What are the facts? Interested in hearing them as spending all those resources on it just to drop the charges seems ludicrous Someone looking from the outside in would suggest they believed they did not have a strong enough case to prove with absolute certainty that he was live baiting.

Branded in one ear and microchipped. Used to be branded in both ears and markings but I do not think markings would be needed anymore -
Condolences to Linda, Brian and Mikes extended family Sad to hear one of the legends in the sport has passed away. Always enjoyed chatting away with Mike on a Thursday at the races when I'd go . He had a wealth of knowledge about racing and the wider spectrum

That's false. Directives from government is enforcing the 2m rules in the workplace for anyone not in your bubble already. Just because you operate in the same workplace does not mean you are now in their bubble. Same logic surely applies at the track. Especially as it's been proven covid 19 can sit in animals fur and coats

The cramping rule will be interesting to see how its upheld. Alot of dogs cramp after a race for a variety of reasons

What a bunch of clowns if thats true. Racing and trialing wont last 2 weeks if they break the rules. If police knew of this, racing would be shut down before it even got of the ground

There isnt alot of positive things happening in the industry from what i can see. Its been dying slowly for many years and the covid 19 situation has just sped that up. GRNZ have failed its stakeholders, trainers, and the public

I think within 6 or 7 months, racing will become unnafordable for the common trainer. If people think it was rough before this event, wait till after it. Stakes will be slashed significantly from both the grnz deal with nzrb and the coronavirus (I wouldnt be surprised if they end up like they were 10yrs ago without petrol vouchers), I have heard (but no confirmation) that there is talk of reintroducing racing fees, there will be less money going into the tab as a result of the looming financial crisis and all of this will coincide with the price of living and caring for dogs rising.

Right now. What the government is saying would give us the most accurate timeline on when racing resumes.

I doubt racing will be allowed under level 3, so when racing does start again, I would not be at all surprised if the restrictions between regions are loosened somewhat. I don't see any racing commencing till early to mid May

Only reason cambridge gets a meeting now is because of Cole's coming north every week.

After the news and advice we've been given over the last 2 days, i do not think racing will continue next week or even the week after. I would be very surprised if racing gets back under way before May. Central government have told us we must stick to out bubbles as much as possible and have ruled out sports teams having the opportunity to train together under level 3
