We have a democracy , it's just the people who have the position to speak up choose not to , for whatever reason . They make piddling little comments about stakes and things have to improve but none have the balls to really have a crack at them . Hence why CG and BS just do what they want . -

If we are waiting for them to release information on this product you'll be waiting a while , there would be stacks of shit ahead of it that we are waiting for them to release . -

But no one challenges him or BS , until that happens they will continue to thumb their noses at participants . -

There is no one that can justify this , we had already worked out that a lot of available money had been redirected to things other than looking after participants . Cameron George's comments about a new Trainers Assn President clearly shows a what level of disdain they hold all levels of racing participants . Personally i believe that CG needs to publicly apologise and resign immediately , will he , not a chance , a complete lack of character . If someone tries to justify this then they simply have no credibility . But i have no doubt some will have a crack . -

So there is more in this article , apparently the RIU's budget is increasing from 9mil to 14mil , an increase of 5mil , stakes increases for this season in the gallops code was around 4.6mil . So they will spend more on policing than giving back to industry participants , as ever a completely skewed look at what is required for this industry . Give it long enough though and the RIU budget will decrease , because following their management plan year on year there will be less and less for them to police as participants leave the sport . -

Why is no one surprised by this , CG is a hack and BS is right alongside him in self serving inability . These guys are hyena's scavenging off a wounded beast . The biggest issue is that the trainers assn has been toothless for years and these guys know that and that they are never going to be held to account by them , hence they continue to go about their daily routine of achieving nothing of note for the industry . Hopefully Shaun shows more bottle than his last few predecessors . IMO the trainers assn in conjunction with the owners assn need to start a petition of no confidence in the current management , and start getting more say in how NZ racing is structured . Until this or some other strong action is taken by the true participants of NZ racing , nothing is going to change . So far the only thing that hasn't changed is the people who hold real power in NZ racing , participants , continue to put self interest ahead of fighting for more say . -

US of A , is that the country that had a bloke called TRUMP as president , and we are the fuckwits . -
Chances are we will be staying in level 4 , going to be interesting to see how they reorganize things with the Foxbridge being an important lead up to the Hastings races . If they have been smart they will have already modelled a contingency plan for the short term , and get it out ASAP to give trainers and owners some clarity . Have i spoken too soon ?.

2021 Winx Stakes - look at this field! Oh we dream!

I was surprised at how handy he raced , had a bet on him so i was chuckling when he got her back , and it takes a good one to get past her in a scrap . As for some of the interference , backed a horse in the 3rd Canyonero, watch on the turn as he is trying to angle into the clear and watch the rider of the horse outside him , all but leant sideways trying to stop Canyonero getting out . Nothing in stipes report so obviously considered competitive riding over there . As for watching How Nz riders do it , you clearly don't watch enough of our racing , the standard is very poor , movement and checks every race or all but . Anther horse that i backed and was impressed with was Private Eye , there's a nice race in him somewhere . -
Ok so i see they have posted changes to trials and some programme changes for this week , this morning , why couldn't this have been done 2/3 days ago , none of it requires brain surgery to organize . Just so slow to react , if they can't make these small adjustments in a prompt manner what hope for them to change the direction of the whole industry .

That was a win by Mo'unga , takes a serious horse to take the step up from 3yo to 4yo and win at WFA , and still has his bits , big for Savabeel . A bit like what Tavistick done for Montjeu , a G1 winner at 1400 in Australia . What's his worth , probably out of Waikato Studs reach now . -
You get enough rain anywhere you get that result , this is the wettest winter for about 4 years .
-
Levin isn't , they were in the Horowhenua consortium with Otaki but that ended a few years back , I think Rangitikei is also one , that will be Marton and Bulls , not sure if that's all or if they are even still involved , i know Rangitikei was very short on membership , still run the Marton metric mile don't they . Yeah the whole landscape has changed massively down this way . I know people will poo poo it but CD racing is really struggling for horse numbers and participants .

Can't fool me , he's too old to be in those photos .
-
I can tell you now , if it is that wet that a grass track meeting can't be run it will be too wet to run on the A/W , the place is a bog in winter .
-
Can someone name all the clubs that race at Awapuni under the RACE banner , there is no identity there .
-
Always drew a great crowd , even in winter . At the Queens birthday meeting , if the day was fine you couldn't move on the public hill .
