Prior to Race 1 Mr Oatham lodged an Information with the Adjudicators alleging a breach of Rule 534(1) in that “SHEZATHINKA” was declared a late scratching at 8.47am due to an error in medication administration. EVIDENCE: At 8.45am today (race day) Mr Richards advised Mr Oatham of an error that occurred in his stable. SHEZATHINKA had been administered a medication that would have returned a positive had the horse been swabbed. The horse was an acceptor in Race 7 and Mr Oatham immediately advised the TAB of the late scratching. Mr Richards explained that a senior staff member incorrectly administered meloxicam to SHEZATHINKA instead of another horse in the same barn. Upon realising the error the staff member informed the foreman who in turn notified Mr Richards. The owners of the horse and Mr D Ellis were also notified.

And if was caught trying that on he would have again got a harsher penalty. Just ask j Kah et al what happens when you lie and get caught. His reputation is intact, its worth a lot to many people.

Why- if the horse wins and is found to have a positive swab he would get a far harsher fine/suspension. He takes all the credit so he should take the consequences as he would do on this occasion. If you can, base yourself at either Alexandra or Cromwell in the New Year. That way you can go to either Roxburgh Omakau and Cromwell. For example this year Roxburgh was on 4th January and Wyndham at Cromwell on 6th. Check the calendar for this years dates. Great thing about it is that its always warm, even if the rain unexpectedly comes. If you stay in Cromwell ,trainers and drivers can usually be found at a pub at the mall called the Brew House. Yes and its brilliant. Big crowds at all meetings with emphasis on picnic type meetings for both racing and non racing folk. Pubs are great value as well post meetings and there is plenty of choice.

The other thing i noticed was the increase in Fixed odds yield. Restricting Snipers has possibly had some effect here.🤭
