  1. Nz takes victory in the First race at Menangle tonight with Livingstones horse the North Islander 'HOT and Treacherous' winning easily for GRIMSON and an easy drive for Cam Hart. Could that set the scene for the Miracle Mile for them ? easy money at $2.60 from the pole draw too. McCarthy runners 2nd and 3rd, and they got the deep South -ender of NZ horse Can'tFindaBetterMan home into 3rd place.
  2. touche' !! too good for me my friend. Will be a good race tomorrow with the first day quinella horses and your good mate Mounga All off the 10m in Race 10 at Reefton. So who will get on their bike first and get the money? Mounga, Helium or Tempo Warrior. I like how the Miracle Mile tonight holds the capacity at 8 runners . Gives them ALL a chance that way so not a bad idea... i think all the mile racing here should be 8 starters all the time. p.s I quite like the small Auckland fields as easier to pick and bet on . 5 winners last night. and didn't pick a winner at Westport.. (just Muscle Bank only) it's just too hard IMO, so am not very close to betting on those. Horses for courses I guess.....
  3. Well you can say I'm ridiculous all you like. I'm saying that Harrison gave the horse No chance of winning by burning it up mid-race after Missing the start by near 100m. DASHING MAJOR is the best horse in the field as it had the longest Handicap. Harrison drove it like that.. to aid the well tried stablemate Jimmy Arma . Probably a pre-race plan as Dunn's do often on these West coast races. Alas after missing the start it was Suicidal driving. (for Dashing Major supporters) a very poor drive it was.. Harrison 'removed' and put on the Number 1 horse tomorrow. Any odds on it causing a bit of drama at the start ? lol. handicap racing at it's best lol. You Mounga supporters are crying over spilt milk because a horse runs on from the back late on . A VERY COMMON occurance in a LOT of races . it's not rediculous to say that . so don't be reidiculous Even on this thread Chief , Newmarket and others have mentioned horses are sometimes driven quietly in these 3 day in-between race days you have there, on the first day . quite normal really. You know this , and yet are surprised when you see it ??? ANSWER: Don't have race-days so close togeather and cut the field size to 10 . solved for you !!
  4. Mate. Robbie Close drives a lot of races . he should know what he's doing. No good going to 'Better off at the gallops for people' as Many many races the Jockeys sit back last and run on too late into 4th or 5th position. Happens Nearly Every 2nd race . Common as Chips. So Robbie driving like a jockey in that 😎 Possibly to keep horse for Sunday , with out flattening it .. who knows. first 2 horses went real well in this race (Tempo and Helium ) good on em ' . I think both beat Mounga tomorrow too πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚ If they question everyone who sits back and runs on late , they'll have a NEVER ending queue at the stipes door in NZ racing lol 😁 Now why Not question the JUNIOR driver on the DUNN horse in that race ??RHarrison.. you didn't mention that poor drive?. Lost near 100m at the start refusing to pace. Circled to the death to give Stablemate some cover. Goooonnneee at the quarter pole . Dashing Major absolutely Crucified in that race ?? he'll be flat as piss tomorrow .Sarah O'reilly engaged for it this time with Harrison flicked off lol.. . Mo'unga will beat him home ok ????πŸ˜…πŸ€£
  5. Time to get some picks organised. Races are 5 , 6 and 7 at Menangle Sat night . 6. Mango finished his driving so seems have the North Island bought in Russian mail Order drivers now? The Fast class at Cambridge won tonight by Kristina DeniTooFastanova taking the victory 😎. on Fernleigh Cash Harrison get the flick from driving Telfers ? . or gone to Russia on Nz exchange program ?πŸ˜πŸ˜‰
  7. Post your 2 Picks per race here , ready for Saturday night. Not doing the Group 1 Trot as No kiwi Representative in there. (OscarB would of jogged it in too) so as well as the Miracle Mile RACE 7 RACE 5 the NSW Pacers Derby (with Marky Boy drawn one with Walk by Faith ,the hot favourite) and RACE 6 the Aus lighthorse FFA (with Merlin drawn 10 so Not so lucky. Great to see Mark back in the silver with Blue spots silks of his dad having the drive though. Must go close to winning now then? with the gun reinsman at the helm) don't forget it's a 3 points bonus for picking any quinella with your 2 selections
  8. This weeks 3 Races are the Group 1's Races 5, 6 and 7 at Menangle. Pick your 2 horses in each race and Post here anytime . WEEK 1 saw Gammalite power to the lead with 2 Queensland Victories . Brodie 'in the money' as well, and looking for the Galah to make ground from the back this week ??? Will HE stick with the Kiwi's ? or see the light and turn to the Sunshine State ?? β˜€οΈπŸŒž The $1,000,000 Miracle Mile is on Saturday and it's 3 Queenslanders against 5 Kiwi's !!!!!! i must of died and gone to heaven .this is gunna be great. Only 8 starters in the Miracle Mile ( 10 points scored for the winner and down to 8th and last place who will get 3 pts ) Market and Barrier Order 2024 BOAY MIRACLE MILE (current sportsbet odds) 1. Don't Stop Dreaming (NZ) $11.00 ( a Purdon horse double figures ??😳) 9. Leap To Fame (QLD ) $3.20 (the perfect horse and current INTERDOMINION πŸ†Champ ) 10. Frankie Ferocious (QLD/NSW) $8.50 ( Frankie A winning queenslander and the Eureka hot Fav (later in year). and potential Champion . 3 runs for Grimson undefeated and going like a rocket at the moment ) can win πŸ†
  9. Think they're trying ideas to sell ROSEHILL Gardens in Sydney. There's always a 'Money-man involved in every business somewhere who's job it is to come up with Profit making ideas. The Rosehill Sale would be $5 Billion for ATC and could set 25,000 homes and a school on it . There's homes and schools 'Everywhere' already for bloody 100km's around Sydney already , so why not keep some fine traditions like the Golden Slipper and popular horse racing and that in place ?. is nothing sacred anymore. The EAGLE FARM greens Party idea is just a Money-mans wet dream at this stage. The Greens are ZERO chance of getting anywhere near Council majority at our Election in Brisbane this week anyway. just someone spouting 'copy the Rosehill thing' in Dreamland.
  10. Well i don't know what Brent Mangos has done , but must be pretty bad. on top of all the Ben Yole extreme controversy too in Tassie ... and Westport bashing and that. Harness racing is looking jolly poor these days πŸ˜ͺ Ben Yole got Licence back in Tas racing recently. was warned off for race fixing and assorted welfare issues last month after a damning report from investigation.... but is re-instated as the "Immeadiate DQ' he got, apparently did not give him or his 3 main accomplices , the time to appeal . oh dear how sad. he's been doing this stuff for years now. Ben Yole started some horses at Burnie last Sunday but had to scratch 17 runners because some drivers refuse to drive for the cheat at all now. How bad is all that stuff going for harness racing? place is going to the pack worldwide.
  11. oh dear .. wonder what he's done πŸ˜ͺ .. was driving Hawera a month ago and got the usual Mango whip suspension. sounds like off the track stuff has gone bad.πŸ˜ͺ
  12. A Poor Handicapper . Not talking to the Trainers.

  14. CamHart too good a driver and Grimson does it again. Frankie Ferocious was a nice horse in Queensland winning 10 of 20 starts for the Crosby's. Up to Miracle Mile Level now with the Grimson machine pushing him harder. A Great Chariot's of Fire win over the New Zealander 'Sooner the Better' . a game 2nd. Chief Selections Comp Race 1 .the Chariots of Fire = Sooner The Better and It's Merlin Comp Race 2 . Open FFA R6 Menangle = Line Up and Mach Da Vinci Comp Race 3. Open FFA R5 Menangle = South Coast Arden and Hot and Treacherous Interesting footnote : All of Line Up, Mach daVinci, South Coast Arden and Hot and treacherous all Won at their very first starts in a Race (at Alexandra Park about 5 years ago) . Merlin and Sooner the Better starting their careers well there too about 2 years ago .
  24. It's quite an interesting arguement . The thoroughbreds used to get a fair old whacking from Cassidy , Dittman and co around that era as well. Looked like they were hitting hard at times too. My theory is to do with the constitution of the best horse's in that era. With the standardbreds I found a Lot (Most) of the Top class stayers that won a lot of those Cup races and were often driven with great vigour (and lots of whip use) through the 70's and early 80's, were nearly all Stallions. Gammalite, Koala King, Pure Steel, Paleface Adios , Popular Alm , Hondo Grattan, Lightning Blue, San Simeon , and many many others ..All driven with great 'Gusto' by their Australian drivers. The Stallions are a VERY Hardy Beast and are quite happy/Able .. to cop the Hard driving . and bounce back straight away after a run/race seemingly No trouble at All . A few of them had near 200 career race starts !!πŸ† the hardest horses ever. Geldings and mares would not take it so well , so usually the best 'mares' of those Day were in Nz with much 'kinder' better drivers ( e.g Armalight, Delightful Lady, Bonnie's Chance and others).
  25. Very nice Walt πŸ†. The Australian 'Cardigan Bay' was old 'Gammalite'. First to the $1,000,000 DollarsπŸ’° down-under in Prizemoney. Main rivals Pure Steel and Popular Alm didn't quite make it to get there first. Cardy the first Standardbred in the world to get to the Million. Both won the Interdominion too bless them. Very fitting being trained by a dairy Farmer too, as he Kept trying that hard in all his races and kept giving till the Cows come home.
