  1. Whatta tragedy . The original President of the club that was the main Businessman involved with the $200 million property developement died as the project got under way . So the rest of the ATC board has been shoved around ever since , by shonky company developers once the Captain of the ship Kerry Hoggard passed away. Doomed to Fail after that 😫 Such a shame Trotting ruined at Auckland by 'housing'. Who the hell would want to live in a one bedroom apartment with no space for $800,000 anyway ? madness...... here's a clipping from a very sad to read article, late 2021 >>>>>>>>>>>>> Fears expressed at original meeting Members at next week’s meeting are sure to remind the ATC board of the fears expressed about the numerous pitfalls of property development at the original special general meeting in November, 2014 when it was announced the club would run the project itself, rather than take a smaller guaranteed profit by paying someone else to build the apartments. But the then president Kerry Hoggard, on whose property expertise the board was relying, died in October, 2015, less than two months after the first sod was turned.
  2. I think the margins were all pretty 'Clear Cut' Chief. The closest being between Buenos Noches and Shinzo 8th and 9th . a neck or so .... Amazingly the field finished in order of ability on the day really . (as opposed to luck in the running or lack of , etc) I should of put the $10,000,000 mare Alcohol Free last , as squeaked into the field last minute , and wasn't going that well at all really , (compared to her rivals that is) I'm sure a lot of the entries would of had her in last position.
  3. I'm not surprised some one got it ??. The 5 favoured runners were up the front at the line . The 5 least favoured runners at the back. wasn't that hard . The ones I wrote down were >>>>>>>> ThinkAbout It 1,In Secret 2,IwishIWin 3, Espiona 4, PrivateEye 5, HawaiiFiveOh 6, Cylinder 7, Buenos Noches 8, AlcoholFree 9, Shinzo 10, Overpass 11, Mazu 12. I was too generous to my outsider pick Espiona , but Most players wouldn't of been.... so wasn't too far out really.😉 How did your Combo Go ?? THE WINNING COMBO WAS >> ThinkAbout It 1, IwishIWin 2, PrivateEye 3, In Secret 4, Cylinder 5, HawaiiFiveOh 6, Espiona 7, Buenos Noches 8, Shinzo 9, Overpass 10, Mazu 11, Alcohol Free 12.
  4. just as well all horses don't change ground on their own like that . would be a bit chaotic lol.. Bloke on a ladder ? can't see him in the overhead ?. I can't remember blokes on ladders on the in-field at Caulfield anytime. ya wouldn't think in this day and age, they would be that silly 😁. looks like he gave the 2nd , 3rd and 4th placegetters a bit of a fright himself anyway... sometimes horses can get on the wrong leg , or run erratic if they feel like it . like any good teenager lol...
  5. Yes I have no doubt that Emma Stewart and partner Clayton (as well as Grimson ) and even Purdons and especially McCarthy's and Dunn's (with 2 or 3 of the boys from those families based in the states with the latest knowhow all comes from ) would have the ability and funds and important connections to have the latest treatment, and horse training protocols/method going. therefore they are more successful than those regular around them. Funnily enough Emma Stewart has a lot more regular owners than say Purdon or even Grant Dixon with Leap To Fame even (who trains 80 horses for 3 millionaire owners basically ) A lot of Mark and Nathans winners over the years have been basically the same Millionaire owners. that Victorian Lady Fiess and that . When will they ever be satisfied ? Emma Stewart has a lot of fairly regular people owners . I find that nice . Act Now the Vic Cup winner (and also the Vic Oaks winner for Emma last night had quite a pleasant chap and his wife there as owners) . I love seeing some regular folk win too. so that was nice. only more likely to win if they their horse with the best/leading barns though. I find it fun watching some try to bridge the gap . you see it with Telfers, and we have Grimson lol... Love ones (horses) like 'Gammalite' or 'Village Kid' of gallops 'Takeover Target' or 'Vo Rogue' as those ones it was ALL horse Ability and NOT what stable they were in. those days are GONE, and Usually, just like that GOLDOLPHIN mob and that Te AKAU mb at the big gallops , the feature races will Fall to the BIG Guns and Millionaire operators. Allstars and Emma Stewart (Hall stable in the west) BTW (The Real Sherlock stopped in the Derby , as alas has had a heart malfunction/arrythmia of some kind ) bit of a shame as was primed to win and went out tote favourite in the end .
  6. Bad Luck Mr Galah . Emma Stewart Strikes Again.... !!!!!! She's too good mate. Greg Sugars did his best for the NZ nation and Purdon stable, taking The Real Sherlock to the lead . But he stopped to a walk the last quarter unfortunately.😪 And EMMA engages the 2 Champion NSW drivers for her horses 😳 wow wee >>> Cam Hart and Luke McCarthy .. and they run 1st and 2nd !!!! in the Blue Riband Victoria Derby. Petracca (Hart) wins from Perfect Class (McCarthy lucky pick up drive)
  7. Greg Sugars is on fire so far . at Melton tonight with the 5 Group 1's on. Won with Rakero Rebel (was that Dalgety's ?) early in night paying $50. Greg has Won the first Group 1 , The Victoria Trotters Oaks with a 10/10 drive to beat the Hot Fav. SHE'sRUBY ROO winning . The 2 New Zealand trotters ran unplaced unfortunately. Shez Bella(Ferguson) and Virginia Clowers (Donnolly) Greg says THE REAL SHERLOCK is a Real Chance tonight in the Derby too. (live on TV tonight being interviewed after that trotters Oaks) Has the pole draw in the Victoria Cup too with BETTER ECLIPSE . should nearly win .
  8. How about the jockey too. Chucked in for 6 months and nearly went off the grid , but kicked again !! well done to Clipperton.🏆 And the trainer . Joe Pride with 1st and 3rd . absolutely outstanding training effort. Will be a great celebration for that stable !!
  9. There was a terminating Pick 6 though .. that must of been local . would the people who put there's on yesterday got it then from the big pool ? It Paid $2083. unlucky not to be Nz cause would of got it with the 4 Allstars runners winning 66% of it lol 😉. 😁
  10. A horse in the Silver Eagle million dollar race tomorrow (the race after the Everest) has had huge betting plunges on it , at it's last 3 starts . and ran 2nd every time in QLD. A mate here who managed 2 TABs until recently said it had systematic betting in pubs and clubs all round the country on those 3 occasions since it won the Gold Coast Guineas in May. Yellow Brick has cost them well into 6 figures he said. It came up against Everest runner Hawaii Five O and the recent Epsom winner Redeiner in the 2 Eagle Farm plunges. Do ya think they'll back up again in the Silver Eagle tomorrow at Randwick ? 😂😅 they probably running a bit short of spending money by now. (might run 2nd too 😆)
  11. All the bets going on from the 'Big Boys' that know the Election Result already tomorrow. Broke the tote.
  12. Think the Everest is going to have a World Wide audience of over 100,000,000. should be a Group 1 , and have a standing like Royal Ascot on the World Racing calender.
  13. Ya wouldn't read about it , The Real Sherlock has drawn the Car-park again. Greg will have to pull a miracle to win the Derby from there . 14. Yes it was great work by Sarah once again. Drove the rank outsider of the field to 4th place at Methven (the place where she said she learned to drive) and took the Junior Drivers Title for the 4th time . What a legend !.. (the Gamma pick Carter Dalgety got 3rd I think) , behind Zev Meredith who drove very well through the series. Shame A.Harrison didn't go and have a crack but a chance too I spose. And to cap off a great day for Sarah , she beat up all the old Boys/Ladies in the prestigious Methven Cup 🏆 to Boot . seen here winning easily on 13-1 shot American Me after another great 10/10 drive from Sarah . Well done young Lady !!! 🏆🍾
  15. The Bloke is a mining Magnate Billionaire. He just wanted to buy the best in the world that he could find at one stage . $10 mill for Alcohol Free , probably didn't dent his pocket change. the late Kerry Packer used to spend that on a night out at the Vegas casino's at one stage 😆. his son just builds casino's now hahaha. $3.4 Million for the Mont . Am sure they are delighted as she finished hard the other day to win. One of the best mares in Australia she is now , so probably worth it.
  16. And he Wins !! The Real Sherlock at 15-1 knocks off the 2 Emma Stewart runners (that'll please The Galah too 😁) tonight in the Victoria Derby heat for Mark and Nathan and New Zealand !! what a great driver that Greg Sugars is ... probably equal best in Aus with Cam Hart. Drove him brilliantly from the worst barrier draw possible. 'The Lost Storm' who started in the Eureka was run over by the flying 'Sherlock ' .. fantastic.🏆 Hope and fingers crossed for a Closer in barrier draw in the Victoria Derby Final next week !!!
  17. Great idea Walt. got Plenty of grip now
  18. Off to Gore or somewhere deep South for 3 Heats today. But the fields weren't big enough.? should of had 4 heats on Sunday then ? at Methven with all the drivers getting a fair Go at it. Defending Champion Sarah O'Reilly got 3 drives today, and Won 2 in great style. Just watching the replays and lucky they stuck them on Standing start trotters , as even someone with Sarahs great experience couldn't get that horse STEVE to go at the start at all. If she Won with it as well the series was All Over Rover !!!! she'd had 3 out of 3. Carter can still win on Sunday at Methven (I think) drawing 13 AMELIA ROSE in Race 6. He will need to win maybe, and will probably need Sarah to run last with Kennedy though 🙄. Why didn't the silly buggers have more than 'One' last Junior Heat on Sunday ???????
  19. Yeah I don't know how they do it. .....seems a pretty tricky job running your eyes over the horse in front of you , let alone what is happening with the one interstate. I guess it's possible if he they can face-time the track riders with the instructions and that ?. Waller with about 700 horses 100 staff? he must have staff and horses he barely knows anything about ??. these stables Just too Big almost IMO . Te Akau going the same now ?? but i'm from harness racing and we Not only knew All the horses and staff well , we knew All the owners well too , and they'd pop over on Sundays to see and pat their horses and bring the family so you even knew them too. In todays 'Syndicate owners world , you don't even meet some of your fellow owners these days. Quite sad really.
  20. Hi Freda . What do you think of a stable having a large International contingent racing under the same Banner? I want to back SANS DOUTE at Moonee Valley tonight R7 , but if the Trainer Mr Walker (and his regular team of Support staff) that get All those great results in NewZealand haven't put the 'polish' on him, his chances are probably reduced somewhat ? . (by dodgey Oz staff 😆) can mr Walker can't claim wins continually in both countries as we progress ? you can't be 2 places ?
  21. HOPE TRIFECTA !! you bloody beauty . they are the GUN trotting trainers . Well set up by Ben to Chief , pouring the pressure on Miss Hackett up front at just the right moment !!! Junior drivers is So Good . Blair and Mark are getting a bit boring ..
  22. Carter showing a great deal of nerve in the 8th !!!!!! Deciding to give his Nemesis Olivia a real run for the money with SWEET COCO. Olivia rallied well and came over the top with Millwood Nike in the end for a stonking $28 quinella . shame we forgot to take that one.😆 Now for the Hope family trot . Chief predicting Ben Hope to get in. But will Carter go nuts and give it a shake again ? nearly post time .............
  23. How fitting for the Thread . $181 Trifecta . that's the way to do it !! 💰🍻 Olivia , Sam and Zac in the money as predicted 🍾 and great job on Millwood Nike too by Olivia ... a very nice treble driving for the young lass !!! 24. Nat is away , and Olivia T is here. At the Front of the field with WATERFRONT too, in the 7th tonight. Just as well for Carter D she's Not running in the Junior Drivers Championship ?? 😄 We love you Olivia !!!!
  25. well that's a spanner in the works ..... Carter thought he was driving Gammalite by the look of it, and took the leader on at the bell 😂. so ran poor 4th with Carmalite in the end. 😪. (note to Carter = Don't drive like Gamma , you'll get nothing 😅😂)
