This week the Dalgety's have Krug involved. Drawn the very outside. Race 5 at Menangle. Will be hard from out there to get any of it. Republican Party in Race 1 Menangle has a tough field this week again too. worth considering is the dog of a horse in this photo below who is also in Race 1. 'Our Money Rocks' (about 20-1 odds ) seen here in photo from last week in the home straight (far left) hanging in that bad as refusing to come off the horses back in front of him. Hanging like Ned Kelly as they say lol. And then it still Won the race after being still last 150m out !!!!!!

Here's the 2 race results in question. I'm sticking by my opinion of Nothing wrong with the Purdon drive. Even if it doesn't make me look good lol. 🤣. Allstars 2 good quinella's as per usual Amazing Dream only just won the week before when Tim Williams drove Beyond Words (5 wins from 9 starts) Why wouldn't you take a Sit on a Fast Stable-mate ?? I'd do it every time and give yourself extra fuel to win at the end? Perfect drive from Mark as per usual in an attempt to win yet another Group 1. Even says Nat 'crowded' in on Amazing Dream in your stipes report . You try and win when someone does that ??? here's the stipes report and the 2 race results. 2 Great Quinella's from Allstars as per usual. Com'on Carter !! ..you know you can do it . They've drawn side by side. Don't forget to put the hopples on though 😆

Cranbourne now having a crack to get in the $1,000,000 Miracle Mile !! wonders never cease . This race below on Saturday night is a 'Qualifier' for it . Man of the moment kiwi lad Jack Trainor to drive too !!!! Carter on Krug . Where's Mr Orange this week ? got the shits with Republican Party getting beat 10 lengths last week maybe lol.😉 ALLIED EXPRESS SPRINT (GROUP 2) 1609M $100,000 No NR. RBD. PACERS. Couple of years ago was assessing whether Wolfie was the best I have seen . I think maybe he was. Vinnie, Mark and Tony win/won a lot of races but Mostly on stable runners . Wolfie could nearly win anywhere, anytime on anything he jumped behind , even if first time sitting behind it. Peter Wolfenden MBE , sadly passed away now in 2023 at age 88. RIP great man.
-
Well maybe he is a mate of the kiwi lad Jack Trainor who is going Gang busters alongside Grimson in their Menangle barns. and getting the 'hot' training tips?. He did the early ropes around the South Island there at Dalgety's etc. Trainor has the former deep south mare Braeview Kelly going like an absolute rocket as well . won 8 out of 10 recently so must be favourite to beat her illustrious stable-mate Stylish Memphis in the Group 1 Ladyship soon. Stylish Memphis won the Ladyship last Feb in 1.49. lately she has placed twice behind Braeview Kelly in 1.50 mile's so seems to have a lost a second of pace. Both going well for Jack though.

Best horse I ever saw was called Blackie too. Think i'll change my profile picture to him to salute the champ.🏆 so What have you kiwi's done to the Qld lass Nat ? not driving now ? (that's her driving Black's A Fake in photo) has someone upset my girl and there's a spat happening ?? That Cambridge race went all to shit for Allstars with their 3 runners and sub-par drivers, without her ? 🤣 and so Marks Big brother Barry Purdon took the prize (quinella) instead with Merlin. At least Merlin is owned in Queensland I spose , so a good thing lol....
-
I have a mate Paul Green. i keep telling him to join up with the Greenies. He'll fit right in lol.

Ahhh ......the offending metaphor. remember >> words are just but crumbs from a feast on a forum .😉 so 'Hold your Horses', and 'Get off your high Horse', and use some 'Horse sense' and make sure that 'Wild Horses wouldn't Drag you away' from the fine racing action (and fine forum metaphors). One could just 'Eat like a Horse' or be the 'Dark Horse' that takes victory but be sure to 'Never look a Gift Horse in the Mouth' . the horse 'Cranbourne' drive last night still quite ordinary like Nz weather 😎
-
Don;t have to sell em Brodie. just race them yourselves in Oz for the better money. One Over All proves it. Cranbourne (who was sold off to USA) went out hot fav last night at Melton after winning 2 of first 3 starts in Oz, but the driver drove him like a mad black and stopped bad in the straight after working him hard early. That open class race being won by old northerner Triple Eight in the end , driven expertly by Greg Sugars. Sugars also Won the open trot, with The trotter One Over All , still raced by his Nz owners .! good on em !! your honest Nz trotter Majestic Man another good 2nd for his Nz owners in the race too. 'One Over All 'winning near 100,000 past 14 months in Aus from 5 wins. He had Won $40,000 previous 14 months in Nz with 5 wins trotting around the South island. so double the money. send more over mate , and turn out the ribbon of lights ?

A fantastic 'Captain Treacherous' quinella in fast 1.49 mile. The surprise one taking the choc's though. Absolutely agree>>> Mark Pitt went too quick for his horse. needed to steady 2nd or 3rd quarter just a little after having burned out of the 1 gate in 26 seconds to lead. (a regular 1.51 mile would of seen him get in ok.) What a great drive by Kate Gath !!! dropped onto the Ravishing horse's back with Catch A Wave for 200m when he slipped the rest of the field , then angled out to grind him down. excellent stuff.
-
hahaha 'colgate kid' Gleeson stuff ya reckon lol. Nah.. i was gunna blame having an Aussie driver but see Tim had popped across to drive Joe ok, so wasn't that. ... the Aussie driver stuffed up the other Telfer runner (wiseguy) in the race instead lol.
-
BD Joe loses !! oh dear..... don't know why but in the Newcastle Mile last night BD Joe couldn't even pace properly. was like his hopples were the wrong length or something?. Alta Wiseguy blocked in (yet again) never saw daylight. The 100k race had automatic qualifying for the Miracle Mile too. Won by Mac Dan in 1.51 mile. don't know how they do it. parked out after working early and still win. Mac Dan yet another big race winner from the Emma Stewart stable. they (and Grimson barn) sure have the best 'handle' on the racing at the moment

C'mon mate , these people have been involved in harness racing for decades. they like horses. they are not horse bashers for throwing out an odd leg or arm at an unco-operative horse. the TV cameras just make things look bad, as they do in every sport (with replays , etc) the bloke only kicked the hopples he said and didn't even make contact much with the horse as it panned anyway. I accept a leg or fist being thrown in one's direction does not look good, you wouldn't want to see that being directed at yourself , so People react with all the bull on this thread if they see that action. Meanwhile the yanking on reins , with a bit through the horses mouth (that is even more distressing for any horse) is never mentioned and is as common as day. When gearing up horses to race in the stable stalls many many many horses will 'dance' around a bit and get fiddegity and even throw a leg in your direction (while trying to put hopples on it , etc) Do you just stand there and say "please don't do that?" or give an open handed slap on the guts that with a combo of Movement, Sound, and Feeling makes the horse behave in a more attentive Manner ???? exactly like the use of reins and whip do in a race ?????? Happens down the stalls all the time mate, every meeting (don't bring your cameras please while gearing up lol.....)

And the closest of things to winning the Big One . The Melbourne Cup. Vow and Declare just repelling Michaels Big challenge with Prince of Arran in a driving/ punishing finish. (Detori 2nd was relegated ) oh so close , and great effort cuz lol.
-
Think David Ellis was right into stock with breeding cattle and ewe's as well ? which got him going and then could breed/ spell, agist horses as well , then started buying them. 8 yearlings from the Magic Millions Gold Coast are heading your way too ... should be good.
-
This bloke is pretty good alright. (Melton track record holder ravished already lol ) might throw out a 1.48- 1.49 'King of Swing' type big mile 🏆 I'm thinking. Old mate Grant can park on his back with the Qld er and run 2nd maybe 🤞. Tims A Trooper . the best Queenslander not quite ready yet in Leap To Fame who beat Captain Ravishing in the Vic Derby last year. there'll be some beaut clashes. Can the Dalgety horses get the placings ?
-
Here it is . One of the big races of the year. Only 250k (should be 500k but times are tough) Where is Carter ? Brodie suggests is the best driver since Dexter, and yet after winning the Hondo Grattan on the 4th Feb Not driving in the big one ? bit woosie by the kiwi's? Unfortunately the Dalgety Duo drawn out ar 7 and 8 starting positions . The 3 Best Aussie juniors are driving (2 of them already Won Interdominion Grand Finals). have a go ya mug I always say lol. $250,000 4YO. No NR. RBD. PACERS. hahaha yeah.... Blazing Saddles had some great cinema moments that were ever made. Not quite the good horsemen that the stipes at Methven were dealing with in this thread 😆 but........ sounds like an old time's harness meeting when Hedley Lamaar said this in the movie >>>>>>>>>> 😂 Hedley Lamarr: “I want you to round up every vicious criminal and gunslinger in the west. Take this down. I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers and Methodists.

Yes that is falling foul of the rules for any public punching or kicking of a horse. Can't say I ever saw any of that in 15 years racing while at the track , but you bet your biscuits that the farrier or (trainer shoeing) has to give the odd slap at home to keep the critters in line as that makes em stand up a bit straighter usually , and you can avoid injury to one's self. and you can't have them playing up too much while you're half underneath them lol....

Ben Yole in Tassie often has 80% of the days runners. and sometimes the complete field of 10 -12 runners. It has destroyed any semblance or credit of/for good training when this bloke is the nations leading Trainer. (number of winners) Sometimes has the whole field of pacers running. cast-offs from other states. just trained out of the paddock. probably lucky to get a feed. the stewards/vets must cry the amount of horses they have to examine after each race. Last night at Burnie in Tasmania , where they go very slow anyway..... he had TEN (10) horses given 'Last Chance to Race Truly " warnings or ordered to trial for unsatisfactory performance !!😩 couldn't even keep up a lap out some of them. 😩 a world record for poorness? Surely nobody bets on those Tasmanian races ? how do they keep going I don't know...... and is a total Disgrace for harness Racing in Oz. 10 uncompetitive at one meeting.... shameful....

Amazing Dream mainly a stayer Forb's and in a sprint probably better to go with a sit. (like she did for the head 2nd to Beyond words) In Brisbane she trailed the leader and won in a sprint using the sprint lane inside leader Krug. Copy That was 2nd too . Amazing Dream picked up 150k for the great win . A week later she was beaten a head by a 100-1 local Jerada's Delight over a mile as 1.60 fav. same as Beyond Words. so can't win all the time mate ? Goes close though. Beaten fav into 4th over a mile at Cambridge in her last Nz start the Jewels too. Oh I just put that in another thread , before seeing this about your bet on American Muscle. Yes it sure seems to be the case alright, (what you have posted here)

Must be hard to get some of them trotters to go left handed when used to racing right handed at Alex Park?? They have a lot of gallopers in the trots races, so imagine they must be tricky to keep balanced at full tilt. (never drove a trotter in a race to get the feel of it unfortunately) American Muscle lost ground last time it raced at Waikato in the stewards report in Nov, trotting roughly around the final bend, and ran 4th.
