I remember Starship trained by J.Reedy making cup class n the early 1990's. Cheers. Robert.

Hi Happy, No, not worried about the change of stable before the last start, and purely rated on its interrupted run last week. Cheers. Robert.
-
Three for me. Race 3. Clifton Flutter. Race 5. Annie Fitz. Race 8. Complete Package. Cheers. Robert.

Agree with you Porty, he would be my roughie of the day as well. Will need a couple of things to fall into place, but Supreme Dominator is a very under-rated horse. Cheers. Robert.

Agree, it does not come across very sportingly. A quick look at other trainers shows: Cran Dalgety, 8 runners, 5 on the second row. Robert Dunn, 8 Runners, 4 on the second row. Steven Reid, 2 runners, both on the second row. Barry Purdon., 3 Runners, all three on the second row. Look, they are wonderful trainers, but I remember last year after our horse had beaten their four horses, they went back three months and said he had 2 more races than some of their runners. Maybe they under- rated our horse, and were outdriven. Cheers. Robert.

Hi Brodie, I think Jacquinot Bay was trained by S.M.Miller, and I do not recall Jack ever driving him. Cheers. Robert.

After being taken to hospital on Friday night after a race accident, has anyone heard how he is? Hoping he is on the mend real soon. Cheers. Robert.

Hi Rees, Hopefully, I can copy and paste the breeding for you. https://nzb.co.nz/sales/pedigree.cfm?sale_id=205&lot=249

I think with the stable reducing their numbers, it might be time to try something a bit of different.
-
You maybe right, but thought he might still have been doing some part time work at the Allstars.
-
Hi Happy, I am sure David Walsh works at the Allstars, so no lack of knowledge between David and Mark. Cheers. Robert.

Reading on the Allstars website., Mark is going to have a go at training a thoroughbred. Lot 249, by Tavistock from the latest Karaka sale. I have decided its "now or never' training a galloper and I bought one at the May sale at Karaka. He will do a month back at Brighthill Farm who offered him at the sale and then he will come south. Barry enjoyed training the thoroughbreds and I have wanted to have a go. If I don't do it now I probably won't and the timing seems right. Actually this colt wasn't my first choice but there is a story behind that. Roy and I were going to the sale but the car broke down in traffic and we ended up having to get it towed home so we didn't make it. My first choice from the catalogue was earlier on and went for a bit more than I wanted to pay. This one was passed in. I had liked the look of him and for $8000 he seemed a reasonable buy to me. Time will tell ! Earlier Nat and I had an I Am Invincible youngster we bought at the sales in Australia but we didn't really have the time to do it and after it was broken in down here and proved a bit of a handful it ended up at Graeme's (Rogerson). I think it is best known for the day it got to the barrier and bolted over the fence before the race ! I hope this one will be different. I am looking forward to the challenge.

Lazarus Sale: This will be interesting to follow
Double R replied to Happy Sunrise's topic in Trotting Chat
Hi Brodie, Just reading on "the other site", it states the owners were guided by what Mark told them where he thought the horse was today. Of course, that leaves all sorts possible reasons does not it. Cheers. Robert. -

Hi Brodie, If you had the choice, do you think you would have made the same sell decision? Cheers. Robert. -

Hi Happy, I do not entirely agree with you regarding this years Cup. I think you mean it will be dominated by 5 year olds. Regardless of our disappointment that Lazarus will not be there, the race will still be a good spectacle, and unknown element in racing makes it all the more exciting. It might not have a superstar in the Cup this year, but there are plenty of very good horses around to be worthy contenders for the race. Cheers. Robert. -
According to N.Z.Racing,The Pitmans' have 62 horses in work, Baker/Forsman 292, TeAkau 124, Marsh 144. Cheers. Robert.
-
I also do not think he has run left handed as yet, stand corrected, and that may help as well perhaps. Cheers. Robert.

Hi Newmarket, Yes, agree with you about times. What they do is indicate if they have got the gas, if only it could be harnessed. I hope the horse will click one day, and reward the patience connections. Cheers. Robert.

Hi Kakama, I do rate Boppa Jet, but is still a work in progress, and tends to panic a bit when the unexpected happens, according to Richard. If you look at his sectional times, even when finishing last, it tells you he will win races, if the patience does not run out before hand!!! Cheers. Robert.
-
I introduced myself to Richard last night, and wished him well for his future. He was interesting to listen to. He said he is taking 10 horses with him to Australia, mainly young ones, with only one of his racing team, in Boppa Jet. Cheers. Robert.

I think Steven Little went to somewhere in Central Otago, and may still be there.

Hello Richie, What would you have rated some of the better horses that Jim had over the years? Cheers. Robert.
-
I read recently, that Jim's wife Noeline had passed away . Yes Kakama, I remember a good trotter called Bachelor Tom that Jim trained. Cheers. Robert.

He sure did have a great run while based at Kerrytown, near Timaru. He liked to stick to rails, and of course no passing lane in those days, and many times the run did not come. Cheers. Robert.
