  1. If you don't limit some punters on fixed then they will skim Entain of funds over time so in reality if they are restricted they don't bet and if they cant get the return on the tote they'd like they don't bet there either, looking at many of the harness tote pools that's happening but reality is small fields with dominating favorites ain't good for business and ain't a good sustainable model.
  2. Reading the above story emphasizes it's not just Auckland losing ground.
  3. Would you not think the subsidy covers horses for only one day, if they start twice.?
  4. Time honored Masterton cup has 6 noms, not bad for the club of the year nominee. Who makes up that crap.?
  5. I note long delays in traffic in Auckland after truck breaks down, over 11k back up, maybe waiting for carter's to get there to fix flat Tyre, lol, imagine spending a couple of hours queued in traffic more often than not I wonder if they've worked out why it's like that, the blind leading the blind.
  6. Be on the all weather, but if it was on grass be interesting to see how deep the drains would be dug where the mobile passed over.
  7. But you wonder why he's gone jaffa, maybe he's simply not liked by anyone, at least in Auckland it's easier to hide in the masses Fair comment about the naming of teams, but maybe Cantabs refer to jaffas with two meanings, one as being a jaffa and referring to the fact Larry the Lamb drops jaffas out his rear end. It kind of gives the meaning Auckland are shit new meaning
  8. Would many of those trainers be employable in any other field? In many ways Harness Racing is missing a trick, they could promote themselves jn many ways as in offering owners the knowledge with all weather tracks they are guaranteed racing all year round,Southland finishes gallops next week but the trots go right through but most of the galloping trainers in the South race small teams, more than likely semi pro, they have a 8 month season, you sometimes wonder with all the issues with tracks in the CD if they would be best to scale right back in winter. But you could also counter that the reason so many meetings get called off is because everyone's got niggly about health and safety, maybe in the old days they raced on tracks exactly the same and possibly worse but times were different then
  9. Maybe that explains why fields are a bit light at Taranaki sometimes, in fact I will change that, most times.
  10. That guy in Christchurch at the rugby that time with the sign. "Auckland are shit".........brilliant.
  11. Not too many at Eden Park last night, seems interest wanes at Auckland quickly in many things but it was only the Force, actually it was only the Blues lol.
  12. Interesting character old TAB.
  13. Your comment about sheepshaggers is one of the reasons most here more than likely see you for the wanker you are, another negative for Auckland , no wonder the traffic congestion is so bad, can't even catch a bus without being bashed up,roll on the South Pacific's fastest growing ghetto, it's happening faster than some halfwits realise.
  14. Still plenty of tradional Country meetings going ok still as well, there is probably no other place like Auckland that have chopped and changed days and shifted races, never seem to settle.
  15. If you use turnover as yardstick, it shows that for all the hype/promotion it created no more national interest than Riccartons cup day but as we've already known Auckland don't care about horse racing as a rule, cup week jn Canterbury wins hands down.
  16. That 18th meeting could end up anywhere at this stage, who would know?
  17. I think the Derby was the biggest turnover on March 8.
  18. You would think with the situation in Canterbury that numbers might get bulked up for next weeks 2 dayer, forecast is mixed, it kind of highlights the limited opportunities for grass racing after May 1 in the Canterbury region especially, this year though with the numbers in the South after next week many will just pull the pin as well, weather events do happen but as it is with normal weather it's still pretty slim pickings.

  19. Maybe they are trying to keep their tax down.
  20. You forgot to mention how much money that you lost.
  21. I have ice all year round in my house, fortunately it is only inside the fridge or freezer.
  22. What does Nat Rasmussan do these days.
  23. Maybe for scrap?
  24. Easy condemning Palmy North but their tote pools ain't that bad compared to others, they are running low stakes meetings as well which is another thing to consider.
