  1. Jason, dont put yourself down! You are a very good commentator and were also good at tipping out longshots at Forbury as you clearly did your homework. Rather than just tipping out the shorties with the form that went well on a grass track! Maybe you could start a tipping line as well as training as the commentating jobs seem to be a closed shop at the moment!
  2. Exactly my point Jason. There are heaps of NZ horses that can run a very quick mile in Oz but not so flash here. Wasnt knocking your training ability at all just pointing out that miles suit certain horses. Fact remains mile racing is boring. Shame you arent commenting in Nz!
  3. There is not enough races for tight class horses nowadays as so many horses just get sold overseas. The reason is that there is not enough money to make it likely for the owner to breakeven with the level of stake money nowadays. The Group Races are plundered by the one stable and since this has occurred harness racing has declined. The stake money needs to be increased or owners will continue to decline, and there are buggerall new owners coming thru a d why would there be? The TAB needs to wake up to what they are doing to the punter by turning them away and therefore reducing its profit and stake money availability. They say that it is to be increased this hear but by how much and no way can the amount available to Auckland continue!
  4. Karrots, why would you be worried about a stupid rule that has no merit? I believe we are meant to be in a free speech country? Tell them to go and get one up them, as they can not stop you from expressing an opinion!!!
  5. Ranga, as you are well aware, “The Brodster” is always on the money and now Chief has posted an article that is on the money. Ray Green has stated previously that the state of harness racing is in the shite! We get this stuff from a few that says that harness is in a good position with TAB turnover and stake money lol. It is BS and things need to be turned around quickly or it ks a downward spiral! With the cost of living increasing for many they just aint going to be racing horses with the cost and poor returns. The NZ TAB turn away many punters by not accepting what the punter wants and that is extremely detrimental to turnover!! Even tonight Matt Peden the Bookmaker that is on Trackside reckons bets of $100 on a horse as being worth mentioning!!!! Seriously, they need to look at their business model as it is only being held together by Sports Betting! Who knows the Greyhound Racing may well be on its last legs if the lovely Chloe Swarbrick and her looney Greenies have their way! Hopefully The Tubster puts her in her place, but wouldnt take evens on that!
  6. Personally speaking my life is not declining, quite the opposite! You are correct many things are going backwards due to the crazy socialist lefties! Swarbrick and the loonies wanting to close down greyhound racing FFS! Greyhounds love to race, if greyhound racing is banned then that dog breed is gone!!!!!!
  7. The issue with Auckland racing is that it does not warrant the bigger stakes that it has! However if the stakes dropped then there would be even less owners and less horses and then racing would fold up there! Catch 22 here and yes the racing in Auckland is such a yawn!
  8. Mikey, it is about stating our thoughts and then discussing the merits or non merits! Harness racing to survive requires people that make the correct decisions or it is doomed! Mile harness racing is boring in the main, does not attract much wagering and does nothing to attract nee people to the sport! The Dickhead who continues to program mile racing at Alexandra Park is clueless if he thinks he has a winning formula by racing over a mile!!!!! The turnover being achieved at Alexandra Park just does not warrant the larger stakes that are being offered!!! It is high time that better decisions are being made before the truth comes out! No point soft soaping fact Mikey, and yes the Olympics are great to watch but hard to keep up with all the events.
  9. When is Auckland going to learn that most punters do not want to punt on mile races!! You only need to look at the tote pools tonight once again and the racing is a big loser as they ate abysmal pool amounts! The racing is a yawn as well as they just wait till the straight to make any sort of move! Each to their own but seriously deluded club, if they think it is worth continuing with this distance!!
  10. If you had Marburg winning stakes of $1500 you would need to be winning at least monthly to break even in NZ! The TAB needs more punters not less and harness will continue to lose enthusiasts with their very poor business model! Attract the Punters not turn them away, there is so much potential but alas the NZ TAB just havent got the game plan to be successful.
  11. Yes it was something Like Arms of An Angel that went quick, and you have to take into account that she was not overly flash in NZ and was not that promising when sold. You have to remember that a helluva lot of the horses that you get are past their best in NZ so yes there would be a lot of NZ horses that would go 1.50 at Menangle as a lot would go very fast miles and not suited to longer distances here! Yes Spellbound has done a great job over their and sprinting really suits her. NZ horses are better bred and are far better than the average Oz bred horses!
  12. There are heaps of horses in NZ that could run 1.50 formthe mike at Menangle but will not get the chance! That mare of Jason and Megan Teaz went sub 1.50 over there and was one of the quickest horses to have raced over there! It grew a other leg when it went there, obviously the big track and awful mile racing suited it! The Teaz’s probably do not have the elite type horses to train But do a good job and yet a horse can go so much quicker over in Oz! There are non winners in NZ that could go very quick miles on that track so thank god we dont have many mile races! I do note that stupid Auckland club have got all mile races at Alexandra Park tomorrow night, and there will be mug punters that wager on them! Thank goodness Addington mile point is where it is!
  13. Laurel Hubbard appeared as though she haunt prepared for the games at all! You can not tell me that someone in that had been male and now supposedly female could turn up in that condition and be rated as one of the best weightlifters in the world female!!! The arms looked like an old woman’s arms that hadnt lifted anything for years! Got no problem at all with what gender he or she wants to identify as, but seriously to represent NZ at the Olympic Games and can not lift a successful lift well under her personal best is disgraceful! Then to say she choked when she has had years to prepare and wouldve had taxpayers money is an absolute load of BS unfortunately. Needs to hang up her bra or jockstrap and retire!
  14. NZ has always been good at events that involved sitting on our butts!
  15. Heaps of people who nave nad the so called vaccine are testing positive to the mild virus! Think they called it Breakthrough and it has been stated that there are heaps with it due to being jabbed with a poison! If this vaccine is so effective shy do they still want you to wear masks?? The other day they said there was an even worse strain coming out of Peru I think called the Lambda strain! It is all about keeping the masses scared, the sheep need to wake up to what is happening! And yes Ardern will be crook from the jab if in fact she actually had it, as it is going to cause more issues down the track that the mainstream media havent broadcast.
  16. Pathetic effort from someone who has been to other big games events! NZ spent big money sending Him/Her to Tokyo for a holiday and did not take it seriously at all! To not be able to even lift one of three lifts correctly is a disgrace and nothing to do with choking as it is insulting to NZ! Seriously you only had to look at the arms to see that she should never have been there!!!!!
  17. Personally think they should be checking out the sex of the Bronze medalist!
  18. Yes, successful in Kerrytown but in Auckland did not really shine at all!
  19. God help everyone if the Greens get back in again! Surely not?
  20. All weather tracks are going to be a burden on racing Ranga! As for KINDNESS? Kindness to motel owners who are being paid millions every week to house the homeless, that has increased 500% in 4 years of Labour!!! What damn kindness has she shown to the average New Zealander? She has caused a helluva lot more damage with her and Tubbies stupid policies! Where are the stats for the increased number of Mental Health people, the people who have lost their business and the no.s of marriage breakups due to her???? That’s right we will not get them as the media is indebted to the government by way of all the money she has given them!
  21. Why are people in the world nowadays listening to the BS that js coming from many parties? We all need to grow so e and stand up for what is right and not just being led by people who are light weights!!!!! Why would anyone be scared of HRNZ, what can they possibly do? Even this hate speech crap from the incompetent so called government is just not on this planet!! It may well be that even the looney lefties are finally seeing that the halo from Arderns head is finally starting to lose its glow! Reality is that it is only this Covid Crap that has masked over just how out of their depths the whole lot of them are! What have they achieved in 4 years beneficial to NZ? Absolutely nothing, just left a helluva big mess for the generations to come, but that is not on my head!
  22. Yeah Duane Ranger has been over in Oz for awhile now!
  23. You are correct Galah, the taking of the knee is just blatant BS and so wrong!, The Maori language and pandering by the left is puke material but is tife throughout the world unfortunately? They sill never ever get “The Brodster”!
  24. Nina, we should always defend our kids, it is what life is about! Not sure why someone wants to nail Ben and I am sure he just takes it on the chin. He has always been very good in front of the camera and expressed his opinion on horses. It is very easy to drive from the grandstand or from the lounge suite. Sometimes youthful exhuberance may come into play with Ben as he is obviously competitive and has driven a lot of races against the senior drivers rather than just the Junior races! Never let keyboard warriors get to you and always be very proud of your son who is out on the track each and every week competing successfully in a very hard industry. Harness Racing is battling at the moment and we need hard working enthusiastic participants to keep the industry going!
  25. Nina, of course you are going to defend Ben. You shouldnt have to as personally think he has come a long way and tries hard in all his drives. If some people do not rate him as a driver, then I wouldnt be too concerned, as believe it or not, I have some detractors! That is life and what you should be very proud of is that Ben is very grounded, enthusiast and likeable young bloke and will have a big future in the industry and this is what the industry needs.
