Jean is into racing horses and winning as many big stakes races as she can! If a horse is only average it is sent packing I believe! Yes it is odd that Jean doesnt breed from her champion mares but it appears that the almighty $ might be more important than the joy of racing? May be wrong but appears that way!

Gamma, there wont be any successful sires out of the AllStars stable. It is a known fact that Steroids usage by men can often cause erection problems! It is also known that it will shrink the testicles, so obviously if stallions have been given racing enhancements other than Viagra and Herbal Ignite their sexual prowess is going to suffer! This is clearly what has happened with Lazarus, and most know this whether you want to admit it or not. There is no way Lazarus was running the way he was being so dominant on sheer ability. If it was there he wouldve had the lot!

I was on the internet Chief, and trying to find an aftershave! I was looking for Blue Stratos but this thing called BLUE MAGIC came up! Read the articles and no it couldve have involved them?? Too professional for that??

Reality is that if Purdon/ Rasmussen arent in attendance then the performance is never going to be as good as what they can have it going! If I wore a hat I would have to take it off to Purdon/Rasmussen as there is not a trainer in Australasia that can foot it with them and that includes the Ozzies, when they are on the job!! Anyone know when there sabbatical away from the stables is over??????? Lol

The fixed odds do come out the night or afternoon the day before the harness meeting and Saturday morn for Sunday trots, which is good. Odds are normally pretty short overall however there is value if you look. The problem is getting enough on as they slash them as soon as they can. Personally havent bet on the tote since fixed odds came in as it just an absolute waste of time for punters trying offload a decent amount ad pools on tote now pretty pathetic! Still can make a living from punting if you were serious but nothing like it should be.

My final thread - 2 days to go - sharing fun experiences had on here

Electric cars have all gone up in price since the clowns announced their genius plan to get everyone out of petrol vehicles! Every time they announce hare brain schemes to slow the housing prices all they do is increase them! Seriously they are absolutely useless in everything they do! We voted for her because she kept us SAFE! Bollacks!!! This easily Delta variant of the deadly Covid19 is so catchy that bo one catches it! It must be moving too quick that it doesnt have time to stick to anyone! Wake up NZ you are being controlled!! Stop believing the crap that is coming from them, use your brain! -

Karrots/Jones, dont let the dickheads scare you off! What can these Turkeys do to anyone, what is the exact rule that Karrots is worried about? NZ is a Democracy and has free speech and those that voted for Ardern should hang their heads in shame for voted such a control freak back into power when they damn well shouldve known that she is a Communist, as her famous speech where she calls everyone COMRADE!!! She is totally out of her depth in every decision she makes and it is just puke material the way people think she is doing a good job! Most incompetent government we have ever had, bar none!!! She is meant to be working for NZ, time the sheep wake up,to what she is up to! -
To be fair I would say Blair would be a reasonably intelligent man despite liking an ale or two, just like most people involved in stables!
-
Jones, have fun with spam callers! They are losers from call centres overseas, and you can hear others in the background and yes almost always Asians!! Just talk dirty to them and they hang up quickly!
-
Chief, totally agree they are just so much better than everyone else at certain parts of horse training! They feed the horses better, they give far better performance enhancers and they train the horses differently to everyone else, and those other trainers just never find out! That is why Grant Payne and Blair Orange have gone on to be so successful training!

What on earth is going on when Addington only has 3 and 4 nominations for its 2 non winners races on Friday meeting this week. There are also bugerall no’s for the tightest class race of the night unfortunately also! Yes I know it is Winter but something seriously up when you only bet 7 noms for two races both for $10k! There is a meeting at Addington Sunday but that meeting also has low numbers nominating! Forbury Thursday night has buggerall starters and it appears that there is just not enough horses available to match the nunber of races being programmed at the moment! What is the reason for this do you reckon, when we have been getting advised that harness racing is going well since Covid19 decimated things? Are we really going that well? What can be done to improve horse numbers?

So what's wrong with NZ Harness Racing, what would you do to fix it?
Brodie replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Trotting Chat
Agree to a point Chief! The others as you say, need to get their crap together! There is more to it and many know that! Personal opinion only but do not believe that Purdon/Rasmussen will be training as a partnership in Rolly in 2 years, and that has to be a plus for harness racing! -

The thing is NZ horses are better on average than Oz horses. Think we breed from better Stallions as many Ozzies breed from lower class stallions for some strange reason. A Kiwi Horse lines up in Oz first start and tends to bolt in. Your handicapping system and amount of races make it far easier to place a horse. -

Who trained Mighty Conqueror in NZ? There are a lot of horses Gamma as you know that go to Oz and improve heaps! Think it is just the type of racing you have over there and overall the Ozzie horses are nowhere near as good as Kiwi horses! Perth is a good place to sell horses to as I believe they pay better prices for Kiwi horses and they tend to be so competitive even though they race on saucer tracks! -

Gamma, unfortunately we have not got enough fast class horses to line up for good stakes at the moment! We have heaps of looser class horses around that will race vut middle class plus have mostly been sold lverseas! Also the clubs have bot got enough money to lay the higher stakes each and every week due to profit from the TAB bot being high enough to cater for the 3 different codes! Turnover needs to be increased to make sufficient profit and the TAB are not good at making correct decisions nowadays! Oncourse attendance is very poor now and needs to be turned around quickly. Oz gets away with it due to the much bigger population. -

They need people on committees that know what they are doing and have financial nous! Our government has no one in their caucus when any business success whatsoever and it shows! Racing needs punters and turning punters away is just a no no, as there are bugger all new punters coming thru and are not being encourage either! Until domination of major races by the one stable disappears there is going to be big problems attracting new owners! -
Riley Butt is probably not in Oz by choice. Tim and Anthony jumped ship due to financial reasons I would say as more opportunity
-
Gamma, they are closing many tracks already. Yes Forbury is finished! Yes we have to have Juniors coming thru and being mentored but there also has to be something for them at the end of it! Currently the future is not looking that bright! There are several reasons for this and the NZ TAB does not help. Addington will survive due to their investments however stake money will need to improve as well as currently it just does not pay to be an owner!
-
I do not think throwing money at something just because it needs it always resolves things! Auckland needs to improve themselves before they deserve the amount they are getting. With there capital base they should be doing far better than they are Gamma!
-
Galah, firstly the stake money is not evenly distributed and Auckland is getting far more than they deserve. The betting turnover on most of their meetings is poor and the racing pretty much the same! When most of your fields are small and you havent got enough Juniors to pay 3 tote divs there ks something drastically amiss! Galah, to be fair, Canterbury was by far the best team but for an error by the coach in resting players, they wouldve made the final and bolted in!!
-
To be fair, the two groups you mentioned are not prevalent in Christchurch nowadays! As for gang members they should be outlawed, however this lot in power are just useless and we have to be kind!
-
The point is that the Junior ranks are so thin in the North and does not look like changing! What can be done to alleviate this? Probably not a heck of a lot unfortunately and most of the current Juniors are going to be battling big time when they are out of their time! Maybe we should just base racing in Canterbury and then stake money will be better rather than propping up the North Island stakes, as they do not deserve as much!!
-
Yeah, born in Invercargill but you can not hold that against me! Only there a few months!
-
Jones, dont be a quitter just because of some stupid rule that you dont have to abide by. You are a very good poster and dont let the bxxxxxds beat us!

Think Bruce Negus has made a big difference! Didnt Steve Lock have it for over 100 starts, so that says something! Think it likes being in Canterbury rather than freezing Southland.
