  1. Just a blatant stupid rule that needs addressing!
  2. Personally think that the NZ TAB actions is affecting me a helluva lot more than a few trainers not behaving!!!! I believe that many harness punters are losing interest in the sport! I have spoken to several enthusiasts recently, who just can not be bothered having a go like they used to. I am one of them, but that wont worry the TAB that much, but the others will be a worry, plus I dont see them attracting too many new punters with their pathetic actions! Race 8 with 3 minutes to go has got 4k in the tote win pool and $3k in the place pool. Diabolical low pools, harness racing is going to struggle to survive going forward.
  3. It is not new news, just a rehash! Harness racing was promoted by The Press for such a long time Nowadays all they sant to do is castigate harness racing and its participants
  4. Whoever Sam Sherwood is, he needs to pull his head in and not associate with Van Beynon! We know the bloody story, why are the plonkers continuing to make it headlines every week?
  5. Unfortunately the truth of the matter is that far too many people or sheep are believing of the continuous BS that we get from Ardern and Bloomfield! If this highly contagious strain that Auckland has been put in level 3 for, is that contagious then where the EFF is all these new cases??? They have continually tried to control everyone and say we are a Bloody Team of 5 million. Well guess what, I do not want to be in her team of 5 million or even be a spectator. Saw on Sky News this morning that the mental health system in Victoria is so under pressure that they can not cope. Reality is that NZ is going to be the same if this absolute crap continues where we go into lockdown everytime there is a case. Covid19 is not a deadly disease, it is a very mild virus and we will have far worse ones to come in the years agead. God help us if this lot is still in power.
  6. Lol, Richie I am not as thick as I may look! Have had 3 overseas accounts, 2 stopped me wagering and the other still have, but buggerall on! Havent given it away totally, but dont put much effort in nowadays, more money in investments at the mo! Loving the Labour Government!
  7. Chief, Gary Woodham is a harness enthusiast, not the gallops! At least the articles arent being written by Van Beynon! Looks like he can’t tKe the heat and passed it on to someone Sam Sherwood!
  8. Lol. So exactly 4 years later it wins its first race! Well worth paying out $100,000 to win a race!!
  9. What year was that? Did it have 60 race starts and 60 trials after that before it won a race? It finished last and 7th or 8thwhen it qualified, did you think then that it was going to be a race winner?
  10. You said it has always shown glimpses of being able to win a race! When in its first 50 odd starts did it show enough ability to win a race?
  11. Noodlum, surely you jest? It could not run a place in over 50 starts and you think that it looked like winning a race? Seriously?
  12. Was that a compliment?
  13. When? What starts did it show that it could ever win a couple of races???
  14. Congratulations to the owners and especially Amber Hoffman for the very dominating win by Averos Spifire! Either Amber Hoffman is the best trainer in NZ or Faulks is the worst? Seriously, the horse looked totally different to what it used to look, and raced totally the opposite to what it was several months ago! Has the freeze brand been checked by the Stewards, as that Averos Spitfire was a totally different horse to the one that raced for its first 59 starts!!!!!!!!!
  15. No money for racing in Otago. Very few trainers in Dunedin now, so they wont be building any nee tracks. They may race on the grass at Wingatui, which is a shit of a track for harness. They will just race at Oamaru, but not looking that flash for harness unless you have horses in Canterbury full stop!!!
  16. Geez Ranga, if you think Ardern is attractive, you clearly have low standards!
  17. He would be very competitive in most parts in Oz
  18. Fleiss, love it! Fleecing the NZ owners with all her wins!
  19. What was noticeable when I watched a few sales is that there is buggerall people there! Havent been for a few years but I do know that there was always a helluva lot more there than there was today! I will be surprised if the sale is any better tomorrow however I wouldnt be surprised if they paint a rosier picture than it actually is! Interesting times ahead as for many breeders, breeding horses is a loss making venture nowadays
  20. He was a horse trainer as well in Sydney I think? Vinnie Silvero or some name along those lines. The fireworks would certainly get some horses running!
  21. Just had a look at the sales results for the trotters yesterday. They say that the sales kicked off positively with the median up 30% from last year! I would hate to see a poor sale result! Looking at sales of the horses it appears that there was nit much interest at all going by the big no. Of Passed Ins and poor sale figures! Well breds werent selling for amounts that made it worth breeding when all costs and fees are taken into account! Going to be interesting the pacers today and tomorrow ! Here’s hoping for the breeders sake but they will paint a rosey picture either way!
  22. Havent seen the results of the trotters sale today so will be interesting to see what they sold for in the morning results. To be racing horses nowadays, you nave to be doing it for the love of it as the chances of covering your costs is very very small! The catalogues are strong this year but are there enough people prepared to shell out big money in the hope that they have something that can run fast enough to win many races? The fact is that stake money most horses are currently racing for is a fraction of what the owners need, to make it a financially viable proposition! Hopefully things will turn around and harness stays sound in the South Island as the North Island harness racing is knackered!
  23. What you mean Ranga? I am nowhere near being sent out to pasture! Brodie is still very much in his prime and loving life!
  24. Karrots, firstly the NZ Tab needs to be taken to task continuously in regards to the Treatment of many punters in NZ! I will continue to post about this while I am on BOAY. The fact that it does not affect you should not be any reason for Brodie to be victimised! Secondly politics is a very divisive topic at The moment and apathy from many people mainly from thE left is why NZ has many issues and they need debating. You can continue to post what you want Karrots but Chief and Brodie will always speak theiR minds!
  25. Seems unusual that he hasnt just trialled it on the quiet rather than race day! It went ok without being special but I am sure his AllStars stables can improve it with a bit of extra treatment! To be fair, the stable is down a notch or two, which is good to see
