It actually looks like a very weak cup field! There are many in there that you couldnt really call them cup class!! Punting wise, maiden fields so much better! Can anyone be bothered betting into the race, just good to have Cup Day happening as too late to cancel now with the deadly Clvid19 back in the Chch community you would think?

Personally dont think they have a clue as to what the rules are? Most races there would be cases for horses to be late scratched going by what has been happening this week! What is the difference between being checked at the start after the tape has been released and anytime during the race? They have set a rather dangerous precedence this week!

What the decisions over the last few days is going to do is have drivers wanting their horses late scratched if they have been checked at the start!

FFS Mikie, are you smoking something? I made the point that both horses should not have been scratched as it should have been a fair start going on normal policy!!! When is a start not a start! Once again the tape had been released and the race is therefkre started! Fact is that both those horses should not have been scratched as the start had been called. Yes not great if you have backed either horse but this has not been the norm previously, so why the change???.

Hopefully the new CEO is going to be based fulltime in ChCh! If he is allowed to remain in Wellington it willl just be an absolute waste of time And money!! The thing that has be baffled is that surely harness racing needs a CEO that is wanting harness to flourish and for this we need punters offloading! Mystifying is that the TAB suits do not like harness punters and so it seems very hard to understand how they have appointed a flrmer exec from the TAB? Hopefully it is a great decision?

Chief is correct! Bearing in mind free bets etc.will have a bearing in turnover! Imagine how much more the turnover would be if the NZ TAB actually allowed punters to offload, rather than restricting them to bugger all? When I look at the tote dividends, a lot of the time I just wonder why punters still bother with the tote? The TAB doesnt care at all about our local product, as long as they hold their jobs!

Seriously, you would think they would be training up someone that is much younger than Peter Lamb for when he falls off his ladder! The fact that they arent seems to show that HRNZ are happy to have standing starts that are just sub standard! You would think that Mr Lamb would be able to see that the punters were not happy with him and stand himself down? Nah, far better off continuing as I do not have to answer to anyone!

A start nowadays in Canterbury Is just when every horse is at the start! It doesnt matter whether the horses are in a line, standing back, standing side on, playing up etc. as long as they are so ewhere near the tapes, they will be let go RIIIIIIIGT! HRNZ are obviously happy with the starter so they wont do anything about it! It is good that clubs try things different but can not see the point in racing from a stand over 1700metres as it is just so hard if you do not begin well!
