  1. Fixed odds were opened on 2 races at Addington on Thursday night, yesterday! Why were they only opened on those races, why not all of them? You might say they are the feature races on the night, but they are the 2 worst races to be punting on!! The mares race has 5 starters and the AllStar benefit race is a waste of time! Come on TAB, how hard is it to open them all up at the same time? I thought the NZ TAB wanted to drive turnover up, according to Mr Holden?
  2. Certainly wasnt with Mehe! Out visiting someone we had not seen for quite a long time! Very enjoyable afternoon!
  3. Will take a bit of getting used to by the drivers I would say. However, the fact that the drivers dont have to count or get their calculators out now that there is no no. Involved has to be very positive.
  4. Chief, no I didnt tip it at all!! It had not been going well the last couple of starts and was racing like a very tired horse the last couple of starts. What I said was that it had a a great show if it raced like it did a few starts ago. I didnt watch the race as busy today, but did watch the replay and it did make up ground in the straight. It was a terribly weak field though!
  5. And what is my side? Brodie is the voice of reason! Certainly not fingering anyone named Mehe!!
  6. Petes Dash would have a great show on the way it was racing a few starts ago in an extremely weak field, with Ricky May on! Was a bit disappointing at Forbury the other night and maybe he is racing like a tired horse at the mo due to several poor drives?
  7. Hard to enforce though! Do you bet your money back if one of the horses is not placed? Why do they run headies on Ozzie gallops and harness gets nothing??
  8. I actually think Averos Spitfire could run a very quick mile at Menangle! The thing is that it just doesnt cut the mustard As a racehorse in Canterbury, as it is so competitive. Would win races in Oz around those small Tracks where most of the horses are pretty average. We have many horses not competitive here winning weekly over there!
  9. Harness is being treated very poorly by the NZ TAB!!!! How is it that the TAB run Head To Heads for local gallops meetings as well as Australian gallops meetings??? What does harness racing get? No head to heads whatsoever????? Come on NZ TAB give the harness punters in NZ a fair go! Stop restricting them to pathetic amounts, bring back the headies and encourage the punters to offload! Maybe you will find that you will do ok out of it?
  10. I note that Held To Ransom last started at Addington on the 2nd August, ran last and then went over to Sydney, and now being trained By Kerryann Morris. Held To Ransom was only a fair horse that didnt impress that much as I can recall, and was trained by Andrew Stuart? Since it first start at the end of August at Menangle, it has has 5 starts and won four of them and the other one it ran 3rd! Its winning times have been around 1.51 to 1.52 for the 1609m. This is just another example of how an average horse That has met their mark in NZ, can go over to Oz and have their racing life extended significantly. If Held To Ransom can run 1.51 you can just imagine how quick some of our speedier horses here, could go around at Menangle!! Who knows how quick a horse that has never paid a divvie In 50 starts could go?
  11. If I was in charge, I would certainly be able to increase turnover and lrofit for the NZ TAB!
  12. FFS, there is no way I am going to finger Mehe!
  13. Where has the adjourned enquiry into Mr O’connells shocking driving gone? Stipes gone to sleep!
  14. Is my week of not posting up yet? Very disappointing Mehe has not posted a damn thing since I stopped! No doubt he will be resurrected at some stage to try and have the Brodster on!!! Yeah, about time the NZ TAB changes their badly flawed business plan of not letting anyone win off them! Just not worth Brodster’s time and effort when everything is in the NZ TAB’s favour, as they dont seem to want to play fair!!! As for Cindy and her useless cohorts, personally dont think it worries National too much if they dont win, as they are a shoe in next time, aNd who would want to be in power for the next 3 years? Finally, on a personal and totally selfish note, this Coalition has actually made us a small fortune, so I shouldnt complain should I?

FFS, to all concerned! Not sure what the fuss is about? Pretty sure not worth debating anymore! Edward Rennell initiated the stupid whip law that was introduced and that has now been proven, by it being changed at last! Chief or anyone doesnt have to stick up for Brodie, and I think you will find he is a very intelligent man and is very fair to everyone on here! Mehe, what I am going to do just for you, is to not post anything for one week from now!!!!!! In return I want you to start posts with all this positivity that you think is going on! I will be watching with great excitement with what you have to post, and all the other posters joining in to discuss your topics!!! We are all ready And waiting for your wisdom! Do not let us all down Mehe!

Mehe, Brodie doesnt need anyone defending my thoughts at all! Reality is that I speak my mind and express what most people are thinking but dont say! For the record is the whip rule and current enquirey rule introduced by Mr Rennell good or bad?
  18. Brodie

    HRNZ CEO

Mehe, dont need to defend anything whatsoever! I express an opinion and you are entitled to disagree it doesnt worry Brodie. I just say it the way it is and if you want to think that everything is fine in harnessland, then that is just dandy!

    HRNZ CEO

Mehe, most of the time we wouldnt know whether they were negative or not, as we have trouble deciphering them!
  20. Brodie

    HRNZ CEO

Mikie, you are being totally pedantic, and not that becoming of you, and I can see why you are quoting Ranga! Personallygot far better things to to do than debate pedantics like Ranga tries to do! The fact is that Edward Rennell was the CEO of HRNZ when the stupid rules have been introduced which suggests that he was more than happy with the way the rules were written! Has the two rules that hesigned off on been beneficial and sensible? No!!!!
  21. Brodie

    HRNZ CEO

Mr Rennell railroaded the stupid whip rule in and you know that! It was rushed thru without any thought of the consequences and that to my mind is not great leadership! The fact that it finalLy has been changed shows how dumb it was by putting a number on it! Mr Rennell was also CEO when the stupid change to enquiries rule was also brought in! Mikie, are you saying that Mr Rennell did not agree with what the Board had passed then? The reality is that harness HRNZ needs a CEO that can lead harness and make decisions that are in the best interests of harness racing, and we have not been getting that have we? Regarding Ranga, if you think he is a messiah is up to you, doesnt affect my thinking Mikie! You may think I am posturing, well I think you are trolling!
  22. Brodie

    HRNZ CEO

Correct Chief! Rennell was the influencer and the stupid rule was introduced without a helluva lot of thought or common sense. If the Board all agreed with the rule and wording then god help harness racing!
  23. Brodie

    HRNZ CEO

Fair enough Chief! What I know is that Mr Rennell clearly made his opinion well known and the NZ rule was brought in very quickly after the Ozzie banning of the whip rule! Mr Rennell was the CEO at the time and to allow the rule of 10 hits or taps of the whip inside the last 400m to be written shows that he was not on top of the game. The rule was not thought out and was brought in without a thorough consultation with the affected party, that being the horsemen! Has anyone got the minutes of the boards decision to pass the stupid rule, and also the passing of the rule in regards to disqualification of horses only if the affected horse can prove it wouldve beaten the transgressor? Would make great reading!!!
  24. Brodie

    HRNZ CEO

Mikie, which part is Brodie wrong? It is well known what Mr Rennells feelings were and he implemented the rule without a consensus!!!! What part have I not backed up? When you are a CEO you wield the most power and I seriously doubt whether the Board approved the rule as it was brought in very quickly after the OZ BS, which was subsequently never brought in!!!! I have not backtracked on a single thing Mikie, decisions need to well thought out as the consequences can be significant!
  25. Brodie

    HRNZ CEO

Greg, Mr Rennell expressed his view openly about his view on the harness whip on The Box Seat!!! His opinion was that he preferred that there wasnt one! The decision to bring in the ludicrous 10 taps with the whip inside the last 400m was rushed thru in response to Ozzies banning of the whip, which never happened! It was a very disappointing response and totally unecessary, and it is these knee jerk and ill thought out decisions that are causing harness racing to decline in popularity! We need clear leadership and well thought out decisions from the CEO, just like in any business! Anyone can be called a CEO and collect a big salary however it is what you do in the position that counts!! These poor decisions in racing is not just limited to harness racing however as we all know.
