  1. Chief, am I allowed to say at least I am allowed on a race course?
  2. Clueless and law abiding Mikie!!
  3. Mikie, just shows that clueless and law abiding people can be very successful financially and otherwise! Intelligence is over rated obviously
  4. Geez, why do people bet on the tote?
  5. The no.s do not add up Mardi Gras! The first race was the pool without any take and the last race had approx. 15.5% taken out! Anyway, can not understand any serious punter offloading on the tote!!
  6. Lol. Interesting name you use Mardi Gras! So what is the pool amount that they display? Is it the total amount of money on the tote, inclusive of the TAB takeout or not??
  7. Very confusing really! The first race that had $74 in the win pool totals up to the $74 and not $74 minus 15.5%????? The last race that had $780 in the win pool had the $780 minus the 15.5% taken out for the tote divs So what is it?
  8. Yes totally clueless! Clueless but at least batting for the right team! Why on earth do they falsify the amount of the pool by saying it is $780 when in fact that is not the pool that the tote dividends are paid out of ???????? On the basis of those divs if they are taking out 15.5% then they still look a bit odd with the favourite having roughly $536 of the $671 after take out invested on it, 80% to 20% for the rest of the field?
  9. With respect, Bollacks. Are you saying that the tote pools show the whole amount of the betting and then they taking out 15.5%? I think the take out is actually higher than that in total isnt it? The numbers do not make sense for the amount in the win pool! I can not really be bothered debating it too much and I do not bet tote anyways!
  10. You are miles off Mikie There is $780 in the win pool so you are talking rubbish! There were 9 horses in the race. It is bollacks with horses paying over $300 to win.
  11. There have always been stories in harness racing going back generations about harness trainers. I have been told many times over the years about horses not being worked as often as they should be and yet owners still get full bills! Many trainers didnt welcome owners out to watch the horse work without plenty of notice so they could dust the horse off and get it ready. This sounds like a far worse case and not looking overly promising for him unfortunately
  12. Mikie, so now you must agree with the Brodster that the odds displayed on the tote is just a load of BS!!!!!!
  13. That is my point Mikie, there is divs all over the place when there is Next to nothing in the pools, so they are BS! Will screenshot!
  14. Totally out of touch Mikie!!! So if there was only $62 in the win pool most horses have not been wagered on! There are horses showing over $100 to win at times when there is so little on!!! Do not believe that the odds showing with several horses paying nothing and several at huge odds is an accurate guide with so little on!! If something is paying$100 has someone backed it or not? Think it is baloney!
  15. Thanks for the compliment Ranga! How can you have a tote market with next to nothing in it? $62 could be one or two punters bets and yet all these horses have varying dividends showing??????????????
  16. WHY? He would need to start now!!!!
  17. Not too sure why Graham actually jumped in the cart of what appears to be a pretty good horse! He is not the worst driver in the world, very experienced horseman but has only had about 15 starts in the last 10 years!
  18. Wouldve won if it had a driver on it! Bookies wont let you on to win much at all, so they are hardly going to get a hiding!! Everything is in their favour and they want to increase turnover? Hardly worth bothering at the moment, far easier ways to make money and no risk!
  19. Yes good to have a bit of variety, however don’t really think it was easy to follow the form on either meetings. Bring back loose class racing at Addington.
  20. Averos Majesty and Averos Spitfire, I believe are currently being trained by Bruce Negus. Bruce can improve horses.
  21. Karrots, you can not just shoot and run lol! Forums are a medium for debate and discussion. Peter Ferguson is a very gifted horseman, always was and always will be! For some reason he decided to get into training greyhounds and that has reduced his driving opportunities over recent years! There was no negativity in what I have stated, quite the opposite! As for getting back into this conversation when the Spitfire runs a place, you may well never reenter?
  22. Congratulations as well to Peter Ferguson on 2000 wins in NZ! He has not been as active as he used to be several years ago though or he wouldve had the 2000 up a while ago. Think he seems to have his interests on the bloody dogs!
  23. There is a Robalan Close, in Halswell, Christchurch. Robalan had amazing finishing speed. Raced around the time of Vanadium, Speedy Guest etc, when JW Smolenski was in his hey day.
  24. When there was $62 in the win pool there were some horses laying nothing and others paying plenty. Must be just made up when there is so little in the tote pool.
