  1. Gamma, you have to identify yourself for collects or bets over $1k in NZ due to the Anti Money Laundering BS! I refuse to do this as all they do is restrict the amounts to pathetic amounts. Why should people who want to wager on a horse have to identify yourself to the TAB for a collect of $1k, and they say it is to identify everyone as they could be MONEY LAUNDERING!!!!!! BS I say, it is about control so that the TAB knows who is winning!!
  2. Ranga, correct, it is about the challenge and also the ethics of the TAB!!!
  3. They have actually done it the Rangiora Trotting Club FFS!!!! Who is the Dickhead from the club that programmed 1390metre races, you are delusional if you think that ks the right thing to be doing to retain and attract punters, but perhaps you just don’t care!!!! Even got a 1609m/mile race as well on the card, so yes it must be starting on the worst part of the track for starting any race for fairness!! Yep, racing has got some clowns that have no idea of what they are doing!!
  4. Ranga, not sure what you are on about? If the TAB did away with the restrictions then Brodie wouldn’t need to waaaaaaaaaaawaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! All he asks for is that all punters are treated equally! Should be no restrictions or restrictions on every punter!!!!
  5. They were good days when punters and enthusiasts turned up oncourse and there was atmosphere. The days at Addington with the manual dividend board with the red and yellow win and place being altered. That was exciting for very young enthusiasts. If there was a roughy win there was often heckling from the public as the trainer or driver had the long walk back to the stables! None of this nowadays and next to no punters oncourse. Basically only owners and stable employees and people socialisimg for a few drinks. Punters have been turned off by a variety of things and this is a huge problem in the future for an industry that is on the slide! Larger wagering Punters can not get sufficient money on to make it worth going, what with this crazy AML policy which is just blatant BS!!!!! The clubs need to wake up to this and get the $1k limit removed as it is costing them big time financially
  6. We all know that if you go into a Casino nowadays and in the past, that you will see heaps of people that come from Asian countries! Nothing rascist about it, but the Asian people have always loved to gamble. Not going to point out any particular countries, because it now seems to be most of them going by the people who now frequent the Chch Casino and I know Auckland as well big time! My question is why do we not have the same people wagering on harness racing, as this would seem to be a good market to target to get more money into harness by both owning and punting!! I have never seen many oncourse and very rarely do you see them wagering at agencies. Do Asian people enjoy the immediate result that a bet at the Casino offers or is there some other reason? Off the cuff I can only think of Luk Chin as being the only Asian trainer in NZ over the years!
  7. Why would “ The Brodster” ever need to take Maori Medicine??
  8. What on earth Ranga? You having a crisis??
  9. They don’t refuse bets from losing problem gamblers Galah. They take large bets from certain punters that they know who are consistently losing! They refuse to take bets of any significance from certain punters who show any sign of consistently winning! The affairs of Mitch Kerr shouldve been investigated by the RIU long before he handed in his license.
  10. First race had bit over 6k in the tote win pool when I saw it when race started before abandonment!,, Ranga, have you got access to the tote pools and fixed odds amounts? I am still waiting for Methven figures!
  11. Jj, harness racing decline in turnover has nothing to do with integrity/reputation. The racing itself leaves greyhounds and gallops for dead! The TAB is losing tens of millions of dollars in lost revenue due to their ridiculous policies towards harness punters! I have got no idea how many punters on harness that they have on restrictions but I am sure it is plenty. Without restrictions I would turnover at least $1 million per annum and so you can see that if they restrict say 50 of us that is $50 mill that they are not getting in turnover. Then you have the ones who would turnover say $500k and the huge amount of turnover being lost!!!!! Yes harness racing is suffering bigtime and will continue to into the future with the policy that they current operate under! It is just blatant BS that they say that turnover is increasing, they are manipulating figures!
  12. Anyone know what the turnover was at Rangiora today? Didnt watch any of the races live but did look at so e tote pools a d they werent that flash! Can not see where anyone posted how the $1.1m turnover was made up, or was it made up?? Punting on harness racing is losing its appeal with many people due to the Bookmakers attitude.
  13. Ranga, go and take a Covid19 vaccine shot! You get no lies or dishonesty from The Brodster.
  14. Go and take your meds Ranga/PEDANTIC!!
  15. FFS! Ranga it should’ve been more than $20!! You need to change your non-de-plume to PEDANTIC!
  16. You would need a good horse to win a quarter of that racing in NZ with the stakes the way the stakes are and the costs! People cant be racing horses nowadays expecting to be making money, it is a bonus if you do.
  17. Lol yeah good one Ranga! Bit like your one picture of Mark Purdon at Greymouth!
  18. Gamma, the NZ TAB offers fixed odds by the Bookmakers! They are in the business of gambling and therefore if they put up odds for punters, they need to be accepting the bets from all punters and not just from known losing punters!!!!!! They are so risk averse that it is costing them big time by not accepting bets from many punters. Reality is that the odds are always in the TAB’s or Bookmakers favour, and yes sometimes they may lose! However restricting punters to pathetic amounts is costing the TAB as many of the bets they restrict will be losing bets! If they can not take the heat then they should be getting out of the kitchen!
  19. Because the NZ TAB always had the Mitch Kerr stable horses very short and if he was trying to punt them he wouldnt be getting much on!
  20. Galah, the NZ TAB do want punters like Mitch! They want losing Punters and no winning punters!
  21. Certainly wouldnt be classed as a successful one, that the NZ TAB would be scared of. You wouldve thought that he shouldve cleaned up going by the success of his stable. Obviously the NZ Bookies werent letting him on for much which seems like a mistake on their side! This is exactly my continued point, that the NZ TAB should bd accepting begs from all punters as it is costing them big money!
  22. Averos Spitfire looked to be going well in the last until the last 200m when he chucked in the towel. Think he is really more of a grass tracker rather than allweather. Amber Hoffman did a great job to win a couple of races on the grass which is a helluva lot better than he did in hls first 50 plus starts. Something she did improved the horse incredibly you would not think it was the same horse Well done to the owners, but time to retire The Spitfire!
  23. Not sure, he did get time. He does drive a helluva lot better from the grandstand though!
  24. Previous post was meant to read would not rather than would! Racing employs a helluva lot of people and race horses are bred to run believe it or not! So Ms Chambers expects people to breed standardbreds for hacks or she just wants the standardbred breed to become extinct? So when pets get crook or old they are very often euthanised, and this is known as being humane! Does the SAFE Campaign Manager Ms. Chambers have any problem with vets putting pets down? I do not condone cruelty to animals like most people, however what a blatantly stupid and naive thing for a Campaign Manager to say in regards to banning racing!!!! Once a racehorse is finished racing who is going to be able to afford to keep every horse as well as paying for the racing horses??
  25. O’Connell does a very good job training old horses down south. He is doing a good job by not driving as well which I applaud him for!
