  1. I saw that too, Chief. The truth is that the NZ TAB treat punters differently! There are so many instances of this! Some on here will defend them and say that it is business and they are allowed to do this! I say just because they do it, doesnt mean it is right!
  2. Dennis O’Connell? Alexy having start 300!
  3. Well aware what he wrote, but is the North Island being left out for any reason? You are not allowed to treat Islands differently, just like you are not legally allowed to treat punters differently!!
  4. I would say a candidate for something else, but then Basil may report me to SAFE!
  5. Chief, if you backed it, I would say you were a problem gambler!
  6. Shad, I wasnt surprised that it kept its first place, going by the strange current rules. I think you can gallop for the last 49 metres and if you arent lapped on, then you will retain your position!,, The decision last week at Cambridge was the bigger one, where the winner galloped for 200m and retained its winning spot. Some of the rules and decisions are somewhat suspect.
  7. Correct Karrots! The Spitfire although from the number of starts it has had, you would think would have ring craft even though lacking ability! Still believe it galloped free of interference at Ashburton, and hopefully the current owners only leased the horse! Still can not see why they are bothering when other trainers have now got the stitch! Retire the damn thing so we can finish with this thread!!

  9. They are certainly going to be a big loss to the Otago/Southland region racing wise. They brought in a lot of new owners and Geoff was a real enthusiast!
  10. Why have they retired from training? No money in it?
  11. Chief, what do you think it shows? Think it started to get a bit keen and put in a rough one like it has before. I believe the Stipes wouldve asked Hurrell why it galloped and he clearly didnt advise the stewards that it hit a wheel. If it hit a wheel then it is surprising we dont have a helluva lot more breakers in a field than what we get! The horse may be very experienced but is still not that tractable!
  12. The horse has to trial satisfactorily before racing again Gamalite. If the Spitfire hadve struck a sulky wheel it may not have had to trial as it had a legit reason for the gallop. No one can say whether The Spitfire hit a wheel apart from The Spitfire himself. The jury must remain out whether there was any contact to cause it to gallop, my unbiased opinion is that it didnt as it has done it before lol
  13. Chief, surely if Averos Spitfire hit a wheel, then Mark Hurrell wouldve said to Stipes that it hit a wheel? The Stewards report wouldve then stated that the horse over reached and hit the sulky wheel in front? I just think he is proned to doing things wrong and punters are stupid to be backing it!
  14. I couldnt see the horse touch the horse in front at all! I believe the horse did gallop free of interference as it has previously! Too hard to see if it hit a wheel, but clearly it didnt, so just galloped for the sheer hell of it!
  15. Shit, wish I was nowadays. Just Cant get enough on, so going to be a quiet year. Sit back and watch what happens with events!
  16. Forbury, no one could call you or Retard boring! Matty Williamson gets plenty of drives and Johnny Morrison also is very well looked after by owners and trainers for drives!
  17. That trot race 9 was the weirdest finish to any race I have ever seen. All the first few turning for gome galloped and others went out in sympathy, and Heenan and Telfer first and second! Lol Who wouldve thought?
  18. Just shows you why we shouldnt be having mile racing! It is so unpredictable and you can not follow form! Mile racing should be banned!!
  19. Of course I can’t read, I’m spastic! Why were you solely picking on the South Island drivers??
  20. Blossom, why did it gallop. The only reason that was possible is it touched a sulky wheel as it didnt seem to touch the driver in front! You would think that with its experience it wouldnt be galloping free of interference. Time for it to have a change of career
  21. To be fair though, Serena Williams has been a big winner and is still earning big money. Averos Spitfire is just a horse that has never son apart from trials, where they dont seem to be that financially beneficial to the owners! Yes the horse is showing more than it did 6 months ago, but it is a 7 year old gelding with one placing to its name in nearly 60 starts! Why would you bother persevering with a very limited horse with no upside. I hope it does win a race for the new owners and I hope they enjoy racing the horse, that has not given the previous owners any return.
  22. Think he would be better with a trail than leading over 2400m. Why people bothered with him previously for over 50 starts without placing is puzzling, and he had no show of ever winning a race the way he was racing! With Hoffman training on the beach, if he drew well and trailed all the way at Forbury or down South, he could have a chance to win a weak race, however why would you bother?
  23. Spitfire was turned out looking better than it has been previously. It seems to gallop for no reason at times, recently! Yes it seemed to be going easily when it galloped but whether it has the heart to win a race is still questionable, however today was chance another chapter in the Averos Spitfire saga! With new owners now, the horses racing life has probably been extended by a bit. You would still have to be a mug punter to have backed it at those odds, even though the field was weak as hell.
  24. I was thinking if anyone Brad would be ok! George Clooney far too old looking nowadays!
  25. Why would Brodie need an actor to play my role? National Party no hopers? Seriously, labour has not one semi competent decent one amongst them!
