Gamma why keep quoting this MarkyMark. Why is his opinion worth anymore than anyone else’s? would back Blair’s ability over al these other tea totallers any day. Ot is a storm I’m a tea cup once again. Van Beynon needs a life he tried to stuff young Munro’s life for nothing!
-
To be fair what Banksy said is what the majority of Kiwis would agree with. yes not socially or culturally correct nowadays but is fact!
-
Marky, I am not condoning drunk driving, just saying that 120mcg breath alcohol reading for Blair Orange’s ability to drive on the track would not be compromised, due to his natural ability!!!!!
-
FFS Ranga, Blair could drive with a helluva lot higher reading and still be way better than most drivers out there!
-
What is the name of the second Stu? What did AllCock train?
-
Been out all day and didn’t see any races but well done to Amber Hoffman and the new owners! What were the other trainers doing previously has the stipes checked the freeze brand?
-
The TAB has Spitfire at $3.20 and $1.40 Fixed!!! Is it April 1st? You have to be kidding, drawn 8 against a field that is not as bad as it has been racing against! Seriously, what punters are dumb enough to take those odds? The Bookies clearly know more about the horse than the horse itself! Needs retiring but the new owners are just taking the piss.
-
Marky, I have though about it! What I would say is that if you have an alcohol reading of 120mcg and it affects your ability to make decisions that are compromised, I would respectfully suggest that they stay in bed all day!
-
Going around in circles Gamma, now! I reiterate, I do not support drunk harness drivers on the track! I have no idea what Bob’s reading was! If Blairs reading was higher than 120mcg then yes I would have issues with him being out on the track, although if anyone was able to handle it, it would be Blair! Point is that 120mcg if that is what the reading was, is extremely marginal if you think that it would impair a driver of the ability kf Blair Orange! When has Blair Orange caused any accidents in his thousands of drives, and yet you are saying that having alcohol in his system as low as 120mcg is putting other drivers at risk? I suggest the RIU should in fact be coming down on the drivers who lack the competency to be out on the track, totally sober!!!!!! Anyway, agree to disagree Gamma, which is just fine!
-
Marky, you are being pretty dumb if you think that Blair Orange the best driver in NZ would be impaired due to having a breath alcohol reading of 120 mcg!!!!! As I have said previojsly by the time he drove it would be ZILCH!! If I was the RIU, I would be far more worried about the nil drivers that they allow to jump into the cart each week, than Blair who was slightly over a very low limit! You stated he could be tired, maybe he was and maybe some of the other drivers were also tired but are they tested by a sleepometer? Anyway it has happened and nothing we can say is going to affect the result! It is pretty obvious that some harness participants are being targeted, due to previous dealings
-
He wasnt drinking at work! He was obviously having a few the night before and was feeling that the alcohol was out of his system by races time!
-
No, but Blair Orange at 120mcg is not going to be any problem to other drivers on the track! Yes he tested over the 100mcg by 20mcg which is buggerall and here some are thinking that he was going to be a menace on the track!!!! I could give you a long list of drivers that should not even be out on the track driving even totally sober!
-
How was Blair meant to know he was 120 mcg rather than the 100mcg limit? it was so little over and is a pretty seasoned drinker, so wouldve thought he was fine!!
-
Galah, a 120mcg is hardly intoxication! Blair is such a skilled reigns man that he could drive with a reading many times that and he would be less likely to have difficulties than most out on the track. Stewards should be standing down the incompetent drivers that are totally sober before someone with a microscopic reading with Blair’s ability
-
With a reading of 120mcg it would not have affected Blair’s driving detrimentally at all even if he was driving with the microscopic reading of alcohol on his breath!
-
Yes I appreciate that he was obviously slightly over the 100 mcg limit in place! However he was legally able to drive to the course! Reality is that he if he had jumped in the cart for the first drive of the day, his reading wouldve been ZERO!!! If it is about safety, then due to the low level he shouldve been retested 30 minutes later, as he clearly was not pissed when tested!
-
Clearly Bob and Blair had some drinks on the Saturday night! Blair probably drove his car to Mot, which he was legally able to do, going by the very low MCG reading when tested! Blair obviously thought that seem he had a sleep then the alcohol was out of his system or he would not have put himself in a position to be tested! Was every driver on the course pre meeting tested, or has someone potted Blair and Bob, which does on the face of it looks likely!
-
Yes he is back! Wednesday night at Forbury drawn the outside at 8 behind the mobile. Everyone will tune in for the continuing saga! Brent Barclay has been enlisted to drive Spitfire in his first of many wins at start no. 58! Plenty of gear changes this week, will it be enough? Yeah/nah! One of the owners is the High Hopes Racing Syndicate lol!
-
I thought they are having time off?
-
I was not condoning drivers being on the piss during the day if that is what you thought? I was pointing out that if you are tested prior to the first race then quite feasible to have a beer or two up the hill at Mot or hidden away somewhere if there is not testing during the day
-
What the hell has made this Martin Van Beynon such a hater of harness racing does anyone at all know? The plonker obviously sits there on his computer ready to tap away Every time someone in the industry does something! Some will say that he is just printing the news, but FFS he is totally over the top every time. He is out to castigate everyone involved in harness for some unknown reason, and the indiscretion on a national scale is minute but he wants to try and ruin participants lives!!!!!!! Harness participants are not role models as far as I am concerned, so why is he wanting to eff some lives! Martin Van Beynon how about you write about the injustices that the NZ TAB are putting in place on their loyal customers??
-
The Clown that runs the other site removed many from his site! Reason being because they didnt lick arse! The other site most of the time has boring topics and used to wank on about the AllStars goooobooooyyeeehaaa! Iraklis!!!
-
My point is that 120mcg is approx half of the legal limit you are allowed to drive a car!!!! No I do not condone pissed harness drivers out on the track, however someone having a reading of 120mcg is barely a reading of any accord! Yes of course there are rules in place, but surely with the 120mcg probably from drinking Saturday night, would be ZERO by the time Blair was driving! Why are the punters who had already backed Blair Oranges drives penalised, as they didnt back the horse with another driver on It!!!
-
So on a hot Sunday afternoon, what is stopping any driver having a couple of beers after they have been tested before the first race? 120 mcg, you could just about get from just being in the bar with some of the known heavier drinkers! By the time the hour was up, the reading wouldve been ZERO!!! I reckon the Stewards would be having the odd one, and if they dont, then maybe they should be?
-
Lol! JJ, I would be the furtherest thing from a bull shit artist there is!! You are losing the ploT by defending the NZ TAB for unfair practices! You are grabbing at very short straws if you think that Basil has any credible standing on BOAY! I would not be using Basil the SAFE representative and spokesperson as a supporter of yours! The TAB needs to retain punters whereas the Brodster certainly doesnt need the NZ TAB!
