Unfortunately for the horse’s supporters, the driver is driving it upside down. Emma Frost needs to be put into the race and driven more aggressively as it is very tough! To be fair though, punters should be well aware that Andrew is not an aggressive driver! Not sure what the connection is, but you would think the owner will be looking to replace very shortly!!

What on earth is happening with harness when the Winter Cup for 25k only has 5 starters? You must be kidding if you think all is well with harness, when the mecca of harness can only get 5 horses to line up? The racing is not that exciting anyway with horses paying under $2 to win and just not worth the effort! Surely this must be a loss for racing and the tote pools are poor for premier meeting compared to previous years Punters are getting the stitch! Bring on Rangiora where at least you get more of an opportunity!

Was meant to be incompetent!,,
-
So they bet only on Ozzie gallopers and not the harness? I can understand that if it is the gallops as divs are probably higher as fields have many chances . Are any of these winning punters on heavy restrictions in Oz or do they bet with the oncourse Bookies? The Ads are just BS, but most of this 8 competent bunch is just BS! Have a look at the Budget they announced today, if that is not RACISM on a major scale what is!!! Maori this Maori that, handouts!!! puke material really!
-
JJ there are meetings on Thursday nights that have less than 5k in the win/place pools!
-
Exactly my point! Everyone should be treated fairly and how would you know my turnover? It us not about turnover it is about the challenge of winning! A losing punter can turnover a helluva lot JJ, as they are allowed to!
-
JJ, I am sure the turnover would not have been much , tote turnover is not much nowadays on most harness, but a Tuesday? Tote turnover has dropped substantially over recent years and will continue to, unless things are changed.
-
JJ, what are you on? Do you personally know anyone that is not restricted and makes serious money backing on Premier nights consistently? I say you dont or they would be restricted! Fields on Tuesday were far better punting fields than fields that have 3 or 4 Cullen/ Purdon/ Rasmussen stable horses! Different strokes as they say!
-
Gamma, there is no way in hell that punters in NZ will be able to make good money long term backing horses at Premier meetings! Firstly if you win, the TAB basically shut you down! Secondly the odds are too short for the opportunity and thirdly there are too many race winners or horses with good abilty competing! At the end of the day punters can wager on what they want if they are not restricted!!! What I do know is that the NZ TAB do not want you winning money from them and only want the losing punter! Be successful and they will chop you off at the knees, and make it mostly not worth the effort financially.

Who is the PLONKERS that have made this Rule???? What Dickheads think this is ok? Just more CONTROL from the Socialist losers! Chief, this is just blatant BS, just like this HATE SPEECH crap, Black Lives Matter and other WOKE BS! World has gone mad!!
-
Galah, you are totally on the money! The fields on Friday night Premier meeting are just horrible fields for punting on! You only have to have a look at the opening odds, they are just ridiculously short and not worth any risk when you have several paying buggerall for a place! Serious punters will wager on looser class races and what ai can guarantee is that there is no successful winning punter in NZ that punts on Premier racing! Give me midweek Addington anytime over Premier Friday night for opportunity!!
-
Yeah, good on Mark, he should put his feet up and give it away and stick to ownership!
-
Fields aren’t too bad tonight! Couple of overs!

Yes the racing was more varied and had big following in the 70’s to 90’s! Watching the tighter class racing much better than today as there was bot the domination by the same stables there is today! There were far more trainers with horses involved and ownership was far more spread than it is today! Why were there more owners than there is today having horses race? Simple, training costs were so much more reasonable and stake money was so much better as a comparison! Nowadays you will struggle to cover anywhere near your costs from racing a horse in general! How times have changed!

Lol. The reality of it is that Animal Rights had no issue with the harness whip! HRNZ and Edward Rennell were the ones who pointed it out to them when their was absolutely nothing wrong with the original rule. If you had a problem with it then why were you still an enthusiast if you thought horses were being mistreated. The stupid Swarbrick and followers have a screw loose if they believe greyhound racing is mistreatment of them! Stupid schoolkid now wants to ban advertising of alcohol with sporting events and yet she thinks Cannabis should be enjoyed by all! Go figure, she needs to get a life instead of meddling in other people’s lives!! Dickhead lefties and Greenies need to wake up to themselves!
-
Galah, no we were not playing The man, being Peter Lamb! He was hopeless as a starter unfortunately and that is not being personal! He shouldve stood down years earlier himself, as he must know he is well past his best days as a starter!
-
Personally love the looser racing as a spectacle! Yes I know some will say that is crazy, but alot of the Premier racing is a turnoff! I do not watch as much live Racing nowadays and I know many others do not bother either! The fact that I can not get enough on to make it worthwhile is the main reason though so there is no real point watching without an investment!

Nat doesnt tend to drive on the grass too much so do not think The Spitfire would go that flash for her on the all weather tracks!
-
Chief, just stating the facts! The horses do go a lot better when the professional stablehands are in Chch. Hopefully Cullen is paying them at least the new minimum hourly rate of $20 as they are worth it! Nothing has really changed and most know that Chief! If they wanted a break then why on earth are they still in circulation working in the cold etc.
-
Hopefully retired with feet up!
-
Reality is that it is not Cullen alone is it! Nothing has changed, Purdon/Rasmussen stablehands lol. Amazing how the horses grow an extra leg when they are around! Just saying!!
-
Andrew Drake to be fair has been very disappointing as a driver, even when he was in the Central Districts! Looked to have some promise early on but just has not improved for some reason? UDR does tell a storey.

Auckland racing is pretty sedate and boring. They do a lot of team driving and not a lo5 of movement in the running. Tony H and Zac Butcher get treated like gods up there and are the 2 best.
