  1. The NZ TAB considers anything a big bet when it is coming from A restricted punter! When you have been restricted to being only able to net $100 at one stage, it certainly pisses you off when you hear on Trackside of someone that has been allowed $10k on a harness horse! Yes the TAB has a badly flawed business module in how they restrict punters to pathetic amounts, and then they say they want to increase turnover!!! At the expense of increasing turnover they reduced turnover and increased their yield on harness! What the dickheads dont understand is that they have lost punters and decreased their profit,
  2. Yes. thing is that with the pools not being that big, you can not put much on the tote, as affects divs too much
  3. In a 3 horse race it could well do, otherwise no. Needs to be retired as just a waste of time racing a horse that can not run a place in 51 starts.
  4. more “not worth having a go “ driving options today! Odds not attractive at all TAB! Bring back the harness “head to heads” just as you do with NZ gallops and Ozzie gallops!!!!
  5. Probably let me offload? The Spitfire is in again tomorrow at Methven, wont run a divvie for its 51st start!! There must be some story behind it why Andrew Faulks continues to race it??
  6. Very hard to win much when they wont let you win much!!! It was not because I was losing! Anyone that shows signs of winning are chopped off at the knees! The TAB are absolute hypocrites in that they advertise that they are concerned about problem gamblers!!!! The only problem gamblers they worry about is the ones that win and then that becomes no problem for them, as they stop them!! No winning punters allowed at the NZ TAB!
  7. Mikey, I also have had a gambling problem for a few years now! The NZ TAB wont let me on for much!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Mikey, we are very fortunate that we have Trackside and able to watch NZ racing! However, you are correct the saturation of overseas racing is a real turnoff for many. The TAB expects punters to be be gambling on this shite, and I believe you have a gambling problem if you are betting on horses or dogs that you have no idea about. The NZ TAB needs to be encouraging punters to be betting on NZ racing rather than restricting punters.
  9. Would seem very odd, as it has been the NZ TAB that has totally stuffed NZ Racing over recent years due to the suits very poor decisions. The TAB has stifled betting on harness racing in recent years and then now HRNZ would have someone go into bat for harness racing to hopefully increase turnover, so that stakes can be maintained! Perhaps, the appointee would see it from the other side and see just how poor the NZ TAB has treated its customers? Hopefully the appointee has got harness racing in their best interests and gets the changes done, that are required? There are many as some of us already know! The appointee would not have to be that flash to be better than our current part time CEO, that has not achieved a single thing for harness racing since keeping the seat cold! May HRNZ appoint someone who is going to make a big difference and earn their big pay salary! !
  10. GW?
  11. Just looking thru the drivers challenges that the NZ TAB have put up for tonights meeting at Auckland! Sometimes they have interesting markets worth a look, and other times just blatantly silly! There is no drivers head to heads tonight? There is the exact no. of points by the Winning driver which is not the easiest to calculate so most wont bother! The other ones is the no. Of winning drives by the drivers! How blatantly stupid is it that they would put up a market for drivers winning at least 4 races on the night? Josh Dickie is at $26 to win at least 4 and he only has 6 drives!!!! Seriously, they need to bring back in the head to heads just like they have with the gallops in NZ and also run them for OZ gallops!!!! Come on TAB change your game.
  12. The vibe of harness racing has definitely gone oncourse nowadays. Trackside last night showed 4 people sitting in the stand 5 minutes before a race Reality is that something has to change for the better or harness racing will not survive. First and foremost we need to continue to have punters coming through! Yes we need owners and horses but without the punters dollar, we are not going to need owners or horses as there will be no one to fund the racing! The NZ TAB does not care about harness racing, the suits only need sports betting which costs them buggerall so that they get paid. Harness racing is in a far worse position than most will Be prepared to admit. There is next to no new owners coming through, as how could anyone justify racing a horse nowadays with the poor returns? Yes the ones that race horses will say they do it for the fun of it, but they can only do it while they have the funds to do it. That does not happen indefinitely and we need to constantly have new participants coming into racing, which is not happening! Sad but true, and are we hearing from our new temporary part time CEO??
  13. Mikey, if you place a $1k bet or even collect $1k you have to prove who you are, irrespective of how much you put on!!! It is just blatant control by the NZ TAB who needs to concentrate on running their own business aNd not trying to pry into everyone elses business!!
  14. I was very young and still am at heart Ranga! Went with my mother and the place had thousands there on a Saturday night. Manual dividend boards, 50c doubles, people booing horses occasionally! They were very good days for harness racing.
  15. Used to love being oncourse to watch racing, when I was able to put bets on, whether it was prior to going oncourse or during a race meeting. I just dont bother going to race meetings anymore and I know of many others that do not bother either!! When you are not able to offload a reasonable amount of money on a harness race, then what is the point of going oncourse? The restrictions made by the NZ TAB socalled bookmakers and the ridiculous $1k limit for the socalled anti money laundering bill just makes it a waste of time! The lockdown where people were not allowed oncourse will also have changed peoples decisions whether they go oncourse. How harness racing has changed where Addington was packed on a Saturday night to what we have now, which is like a Wednesday trial day! Sadly things dont seem to be going to get any better, and we havent heard from the CEO Mr Holden for such a long time

Dark Horse was pretty short tonight, which was pretty surprising! Yes it won well down south last start, but reality is that the trotters down in Southland are a long way short of Canterbury horses.
  17. There has to be a window or two! How racing has changed for the worse in recent years due to very poor decisions!

Has paced rough in all races and trials so far. To be fair does not appear that brave at the moment, and why it was so short is hard to fathom. Last start it didnt have enough toe to get to the front and stopped bad. Won a couple of trials but did not go that quick and the second one, the one in front galloped, and would have won, I would say most horses would improve if they were being trained on the beach.
  19. Do not know. i am sure someone will advise. Does not appear to be very many oncourse tonight
  20. Someone told me that the percentage for oncourse is now the same as offcourse. You would think though that people oncourse is probably going to spend on every race. The thing is that if you can not get punters oncourse in good numbers, eventually their interest will dwindle, if they are not experiencing the racing live
  21. Fixed odds were opened on 2 races at Addington on Thursday night, yesterday! Why were they only opened on those races, why not all of them? You might say they are the feature races on the night, but they are the 2 worst races to be punting on!! The mares race has 5 starters and the AllStar benefit race is a waste of time! Come on TAB, how hard is it to open them all up at the same time? I thought the NZ TAB wanted to drive turnover up, according to Mr Holden?
  22. Certainly wasnt with Mehe! Out visiting someone we had not seen for quite a long time! Very enjoyable afternoon!
  23. Will take a bit of getting used to by the drivers I would say. However, the fact that the drivers dont have to count or get their calculators out now that there is no no. Involved has to be very positive.
  24. Chief, no I didnt tip it at all!! It had not been going well the last couple of starts and was racing like a very tired horse the last couple of starts. What I said was that it had a a great show if it raced like it did a few starts ago. I didnt watch the race as busy today, but did watch the replay and it did make up ground in the straight. It was a terribly weak field though!
  25. And what is my side? Brodie is the voice of reason! Certainly not fingering anyone named Mehe!!
