  1. We had a mention of 2 X $80 Earlier, lol
  2. The second by far? Apparently someone put $2.5k on at $2 to win! Would be good to be able to get that amount on something, but personally think it is a very poor bet! I am due for egg on my face, but Minstrel is no value at that!!!!!
  3. I am trying my hardest to believe that Minstrel Is at $1.70 fixed to win race 6 at Addington from the stand over 2600m! Yes it is off the front and got a start on some far better performed horses, but $1.70 seriously? Do I think it will win, can not see it and to have it at such ridiculous odds is a bit hard to fathom?
  4. Wouldnt think you could restrict much more! Just not worth the effort and I am sure it is the same for many others! They only allow you to have a pittance on and then slash the odds and wont let you on again straight away!!!!! To call them Bookies nowadays is a insult to the old Bookies!!! NZ TAB give the NZ punters a fair go!!!
  5. Just been looking at the Fixed Odds on the drivers challenges for Addington tonight! No head to heads for any drivers tonight, which not sure why not? There is the normal most points and most points without Mark Purdon which is good! There is normally odds set for drivers to win 2, 3 or 4 races as well! It is good to see the NZ TAB give these options as a lot of the racing at Addington on a Friday night is too much gambling rather than investing! Would be very interesting to knowhow much is being offloaded on these types of options during the night? With the TAB having a long overdue clean out of the underperforming executives, hopefully there will be some major improvements occur, and punters who pay their wages treated better than they have been! Onwards and upwards hopefully, as they need to welcome the punters back bigtime!!
  6. A bit of a clean out of executives. The challenges were not caused by Covid19, there were major financial issues well before that! The ridiculous decisions made by executives, including the major eff up by John Allen and his lemon of a betting platform that is a noose around their necks! This Glen Saville, remains the manager of Customer and betting till later this year??? Has anyone ever heard or seen him doing anything at all beneficial for customers or betting??? Hopefully they can turn things around as they need major changes for the better or the racing industry is doomed! Doomed I say, Doomed!
  7. Thursday or Friday night racing used to be great to watch! Nowadays, you are right, the racing certainly not overly exciting! Next to no promotion, fields far too even and you can not get much on even if you sort something out! You would think the NZ TAB would follow Cindy and be KIND?
  8. Who is writing the comments in regards to the horses now????? Seriously, should be thinking about things before he/she writes them! Averos Spitfire in race 4 on Sunday, 47 starts and never run a placing!!! Comment reads: Fifths in the formline have been good but hard to catch. first four blowout. They are kidding arent they? Really hard to catch, and really does anyone actually waste their money on a hkrse that never runs a place, and they comment “hard to catch” lol. Jonny Cox back on Sunday and in a much better field than it has been running against! First dividend bearing placing on Sunday for the connections? Na, retire the horse as it is rather silly!!
  9. Happy, nothing at all at doing a “Broderism” rant! Mark Jones has never really been backward in expressing his opinion, and that is great! Problem with harness racing at the moment is that there are some real muppets making financial and other decisions that has totally set harness on a path of oblivion unfortunately! From the NZ TAB and HRNZ there are some really bad calls and it is showing and there Is plenty of discontent now coming out as livelihoods are bring severely hampered. They need to hear and take notice of people that know what they are talking about like Mark Jones and Brodie. Mark has a fair point in regards to the handicapping if his horse at Invers! HRNZ it is a disgrace that you have not replied to Mark Jones but then again the CEO Is only part time at best!
  10. You are right there are hot favourites in many harness Oz races! What I am saying is that when there is a hot hot favourite to encourage more money to go on, thenBookies need to take that stinker out of the fixed market! Not that hard to do, if they want punters to continue to desert, then NZ TAB keep up what you are doing! Punters are over the shorties and heavy restrictions!
  11. Surely it is just as easy to manipulate a gallops race for head to heads?? If they dont like the head to heads on harness, why dont they have a group betting option of say 4 horses, and first one home???? The NZ TAB continue to have fixed odds with stinking hot favourites in the betting?? Why on earth do they continue with this Process???? They are going to get far more dollars invested with them if they take the stinkers out!!! It aint that hard to do, but then common sense isnt high on their task list!
  12. Basil, you are being blatantly ridiculous! Do you eat meat or are you Vegan? Do you watch sport? Rugby, League, Boxing, etc? All have violence involved? Do you drive a car? People killed in them! You have got no logical defense.
  13. Sugar n Spice was shying at the starter’s assistant hand continually in its face! And YES, the starter requires a very long spell without doubt! I firmly believe that is if someone is not up to it anymore, there is no shame in stepping down! Watch this space there will be a continuation of poor starts and hopefully HRNZ take the appropriate action!
  14. Never had a standing start by the look of it. Likes to give all the other horses a chance!
  15. If the starters assistant had not have touched Sugar n Spices head, she would not have backed back, and would have started just fine! It was the starters assistant that cost the horse a fair start!!
  16. A placing at last, in a 3 horse trial at Mot! 2.11 mile rate, he may be coming right, do you reckon? Na!!
  17. Robbie Holmes. Normally a good stand start horse, however it moved back before the start from no. 1, then the starter’s assistant Started playing around with it which it did not need! Most of the time the starter would have let it come back in, but on this occassion kt was shite out of luck!
  18. TAB would be better off opening an option of will Averos Spitfire ever run a dividend bearing placing! Got no idea why the horse is still being persevered with as a racing proposition, as it really isnt! Not trying to demean anyone by continuing with this topic, but seriously why?? Would like to see one of the interviewers go and interview Andrew Faulks, as there must be something to the Averos Spitfire Tale!
  19. Brian always turns his horses out looking great! Not sure how many he has trained since the National Bloodstock days? Could certainly train young horseS
  20. Yay, he is back! Averos Spitfire back for another crack at getting a dividend bearing placing, after a brief respite! Would love to see him run a place in his career, but not sure it is possible unfortunately! Maybe Forbury, but just can not see it at Addington anytime soon! Hope I am wrong but probably not!
  21. Fair enough, thing is that Sugar n Spice didnt really break, and if she hadve been in 1, she wouldve won! The starters assistant had plenty to do with it not going up go the tape as he was in its face with his hands! Point is that you never know what you ate going to get with standing starts in Canterbury!
  22. Common sense has finally prevailed and not before time! The stupid rule was rushed thru by HRNZ and should not have been! They panicked when Oz banned the whip which did not happen and HRNZ have been left with egg on their faces! Great to see that it has been amended and reality is that Animal Rights have not got the harness whip use in their sights!! Basil, you have been totally wrong in everything you have said a out the whip rule, and I have never condoned a horse being bashed or injured from a whip! What I do say is that HRNZ need to sort their shite out before they lose total credibility! They now need to sort out the interference rule!
  23. Basil, not that you will admit it, but HRNZ have finally seen sense! Brodie’s point the whole time was that the HRNZ rule was just plain stupid, by having a no. of taps or hits inside the final 400 metres. Nothing at all to do with bashing a horse, unless you can show me otherwise somewhere! It was ridiculous that drivers were getting fined and/or suspended for wanting to win due to tapping a horse 11 times!!!!!! This rule may not be perfect but at this stage it appears that it is a helluva lot better Than what has been in place! Basil, I am pleased that HRNZ has taken notice of Brodie and once again it has been proven that Brodie was on the money!
  24. The race 8 winner, Aqua Sancta was also not swabbed by the look of It as well! The race was penalty free! Interesting!
  25. At last HRNZ have admitted the whip rule that they brought in without much thought was WRONG!! They were dickheads to have brought it in and leave it in as long as they have! Yes, everyone is saying “well done Brodie, you are on the money as per usual” No the rule isnt going to be perfect, but at this stage, it would appear to be more easily monitored and fairer! Still can not see what was wrong with the original rule though!
