  1. Basil, you are being blatantly ridiculous! Do you eat meat or are you Vegan? Do you watch sport? Rugby, League, Boxing, etc? All have violence involved? Do you drive a car? People killed in them! You have got no logical defense.
  2. Sugar n Spice was shying at the starter’s assistant hand continually in its face! And YES, the starter requires a very long spell without doubt! I firmly believe that is if someone is not up to it anymore, there is no shame in stepping down! Watch this space there will be a continuation of poor starts and hopefully HRNZ take the appropriate action!
  3. Never had a standing start by the look of it. Likes to give all the other horses a chance!
  4. If the starters assistant had not have touched Sugar n Spices head, she would not have backed back, and would have started just fine! It was the starters assistant that cost the horse a fair start!!
  5. A placing at last, in a 3 horse trial at Mot! 2.11 mile rate, he may be coming right, do you reckon? Na!!
  6. Robbie Holmes. Normally a good stand start horse, however it moved back before the start from no. 1, then the starter’s assistant Started playing around with it which it did not need! Most of the time the starter would have let it come back in, but on this occassion kt was shite out of luck!
  7. TAB would be better off opening an option of will Averos Spitfire ever run a dividend bearing placing! Got no idea why the horse is still being persevered with as a racing proposition, as it really isnt! Not trying to demean anyone by continuing with this topic, but seriously why?? Would like to see one of the interviewers go and interview Andrew Faulks, as there must be something to the Averos Spitfire Tale!
  8. Brian always turns his horses out looking great! Not sure how many he has trained since the National Bloodstock days? Could certainly train young horseS
  9. Yay, he is back! Averos Spitfire back for another crack at getting a dividend bearing placing, after a brief respite! Would love to see him run a place in his career, but not sure it is possible unfortunately! Maybe Forbury, but just can not see it at Addington anytime soon! Hope I am wrong but probably not!
  10. Fair enough, thing is that Sugar n Spice didnt really break, and if she hadve been in 1, she wouldve won! The starters assistant had plenty to do with it not going up go the tape as he was in its face with his hands! Point is that you never know what you ate going to get with standing starts in Canterbury!
  11. Common sense has finally prevailed and not before time! The stupid rule was rushed thru by HRNZ and should not have been! They panicked when Oz banned the whip which did not happen and HRNZ have been left with egg on their faces! Great to see that it has been amended and reality is that Animal Rights have not got the harness whip use in their sights!! Basil, you have been totally wrong in everything you have said a out the whip rule, and I have never condoned a horse being bashed or injured from a whip! What I do say is that HRNZ need to sort their shite out before they lose total credibility! They now need to sort out the interference rule!
  12. Basil, not that you will admit it, but HRNZ have finally seen sense! Brodie’s point the whole time was that the HRNZ rule was just plain stupid, by having a no. of taps or hits inside the final 400 metres. Nothing at all to do with bashing a horse, unless you can show me otherwise somewhere! It was ridiculous that drivers were getting fined and/or suspended for wanting to win due to tapping a horse 11 times!!!!!! This rule may not be perfect but at this stage it appears that it is a helluva lot better Than what has been in place! Basil, I am pleased that HRNZ has taken notice of Brodie and once again it has been proven that Brodie was on the money!
  13. The race 8 winner, Aqua Sancta was also not swabbed by the look of It as well! The race was penalty free! Interesting!
  14. At last HRNZ have admitted the whip rule that they brought in without much thought was WRONG!! They were dickheads to have brought it in and leave it in as long as they have! Yes, everyone is saying “well done Brodie, you are on the money as per usual” No the rule isnt going to be perfect, but at this stage, it would appear to be more easily monitored and fairer! Still can not see what was wrong with the original rule though!
  15. The point is that the paid starter said that he was happy with the position of all the runners! The starter effed up and it was not a fair start! If a driver or trainer does something wrong they are very often fined or Suspended! Clearly it doesnt matter what HRNZ employees do, they are are above reproach Apparently. Dont tell the starter that he is not up to scratch! Blame the drivers and now we can fine them as they were the ones at fault!! Watch this space, the continuation of effed up starts will continue and we should get rid of them, certainly the sprints!!!!!!
  16. It is out!! The enquiry into the start has been reviewed and you can read it in the stewards report to todays racing. Very verbose and actually good to see that they admit that it was not good enough! On that basis why was jt not declared a no race? There was error on everyones part, starter, starters assistants and drivers apparently!!!! Who was it that yelled HAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYY?
  17. Yes it is debateable, however the starter shouldve seen that the no. 1 horse was well out of position and with his assistant hindering it from coming forward, and let them go And yet the next stand, an experienced pacers race, he took his time and reset it when a horse was playing up? The only consistency we get week in and out, is that we know the starter will be inconsistent!
  18. One of the starters assistants was annoying it and was in front of it with his hand in front of her face! Wasnt given a fair start if u watch the replay Happy Assistant certainly did not think the tape was going to go Ditch the stands altogether
  19. So does this set a precedent for all future standing starts? If horses arent ready we let them go?
  20. Totally agree the horse played a major part in it, however it was not given a fair start due to being out of its right position! Ditch the stands like most tracks have, if they arent fair
  21. Of course it is Ranga! The cracked record is due to unfair treatment of punters in NZ! Seem you have contacts, get them to treat all punters in NZ fairly, before they go into oblivion! All they are doing is driving punters away from racing
  22. Was a 2000m stand, not 200m stand lol
  23. Ranga, I do not associate or am assisted by any unrestricted punters!!! Why is Brodie restricted to amounts that make it not worth investing? The truth of the matter is that some punters have vendettas against them by the NZ TAB!
  24. Sugar n Spice drew 1 in race 5 at Addington over the proverbial 2000m stand! It was a certainty beaten, as the starter yelled out Riight, when Sugar and Spice was standing many lengths back from its designated starting point! It produced a massive run to hit the front and finish just out of the dividend bearing places. If it hadve been allowed a fair start, it wouldve won!! Hopefully today will be the day that the Stewards announce their report into The race 9 shambles of two weeks ago! Should make good reading!
  25. Ranga, what are you meaning by that? So you are saying it is ok for the TAB to restrict people to netting 2-$300 becajse they associate with someone? Restriction limits have been lowered more and more. What I am seeing is that the TAB is driving turnover down on harness racing both on fixed and tote. Looking at the tote pools today, they are very small and if this continues there is no way stakes will be maintained! The NZ TAB have lost the plot totally and will go into administration in time, as there is not going to be any more bailing out from a left wing government!
