Ranga, that is what Ppisses me off the most! The unfair treatment of some and the favourable treatment of others! Are these bets they state actually true or are they porkies???? If they are true then they are being taken from losing Bettors known to the TAB! I do see a helluva lot of bets supposedly taken by the TAB that are large, that are not worth the effort or risk, so I can see why the TAB take them! The new norm for restricted punters of $150 is just a blatant load of BS and the TAB are going to haemorrhage big time and racing is going to feel it! When an owner can only get to net $150 it is farcicAl and if someone comes on here and tells me that they are getting heaps on then I can guarantee you that they are known losing punters. This crap with the punters card that comes in 2 weeks is just going to drive more punters away, without doubt!!!!!!!!

Just read an article on HRNZ site written by Garrick Knight. One of the new owners of Never Mind who won first up for Trent Yesberg was restricted on his account to $88 @ $2.70 to collect $237 and so a net collect of $150! Thr owner states that he thought it was pretty stupid, which of course it is, as he is probably not previously a restricted punter going by that comment! Not sure how much the owner wanted to put on his horse, were the Bookies aware of the punter being the owner of the horse or is there now a TAB policy on accounts of only being able to net the pathetic amount of $150? If this is the TAB policy, then there is nothing more certain that more punters are just not going to bother with this BS! Are there punters out there still being able to net larger amounts on their accounts or is everyone finding the same thing?

The Thing is the betting agencies are trying to attract new punters by offering the money back on various options even if they don’t win, but the money back is only being pathetic amounts! Obviously it is to gain punters to the habit and to keep them gambling. However if that punter that they have attracted wins, they say bugger that, we will restrict or shut them down! The Elite punters you say are mostly from overseas? They must surely be heavily restricted or if they are losing punters why are they bothering to bet in little of NZ? Yes it was very Sporting that Sportsbet refunded the $450k as a token of good will, and they will get it back from those punters anyway. $450k doesn’t seem very much for 11000 punters who backed NZ to win as it is only $40 per punter? There must’ve some big bets but most of them had to have been pretty small!

Ridiculous that Kiwis can not have a bet on their TAB account just because you are on holiday! Great that Sportsbet is going to pay out to punters on NZ winning the cricket World Cup, however it does seem rather weird that the average bet in NZ to win is only $40???

The NZ TAB has progressively got worse as a gambling agency! They are currently being saved by sports betting as horse punters are getting screwed big time. They want turnover to increase on racing however they don’t want to payout to anyone that looks remotely like they know what they are doing. The watchdog is going to be increased even more by this punters card and has very little to do with money laundering! Racing is stuffed in NZ in many ways now and the NZ TAB is one of the major reasons it isn’t going to get any better, unless they change Their useless policies!

Then why can’t any batsman stick their bat out deliberately when they are running? Anyway the umpires stuffed up, even with the dumb rule it appears it should’ve only been 5 rather than the six. How can it be 6 overthrows when it has hit a batsman, they had completed one run then interfered with the ball?

Of course Happy. There were several wrong decisions by the umpires, including the overthrows from Guptill, should’ve been a dead ball!!!! NZ wins!

Blackcaps were robbed. Bad umpiring and stupid rule. Such a shame as they fought to the end and deserved to win. Taylor wasn’t out and Roy was gone but biased umpire!
