Not too sure why HRNZ would program Addington and Cambridge meetings running against each other on Tuesday? Surely they are competing for the same dollar and personally believe they couldve run one of the meetings on a different day? There will be more wagering on Addington and Cambridge turnover will be poor! Is there anyone with business sense got any good reason why this is happening? Just seems crazy on a Tuesday! They seem on a route of trying to reduce turnover in several ways, Entain obviously has its reasons?

The stands are just so much better when they are standing rather than the BS starts where anything goes! As I say the starter needs to address all the drivers and advise them of what a standing starts actually is. It is solely the starters fault that this has occurred as they have been allowed to hsppen due to letting them get away with it for far too long. It should be fair for everyone if they program standing starts. Even far too often the unruly horses are that far back in the stands, that they have no show, this also needs to stop.

Race 1 standing start at Methven was a false start first time around snd shouldve been. Second time was far better when the starter had them pretty much standing rather than charging the tape.. He needs to command respect from the drivers and firmly extend to the drivers that he will not tolerate these drivers charging the start ! Long overdue Time to clean the standing starts up or get rid of them, as too often they are just unfair. Hopefully they can get it right in the future.

Unfortunately they do not care about the loyal punters that they have had for decades. The TAB/ Entain are trying to attract new punters with this bonus cash/ money back offers, also boost to win odds etc. Reality is that the amounts being offered as the maximum bet is too low to attract too many being amounts like $20. The turnover is being falsified by these offers. For the sake of the racing industry the NZ TAB needs to be financially healthy, but does anyone actually think it will be once Entain pull the plug on funding racing? I believe they are seriously not putting the money into the right places but then again it does not effect me too much .

Its ok, just a continuation of the NZ TAB, not treating all punters equally. You are only welcome if you are going to be a losing punter, otherwise we make it so it is not worth your while.

Reality is that the starters are not respected by the drivers and they actually control them. Carter and Mulcay previous starters before Peter Lamb knew how to have standing starts! They had the horses standing before they let them go, it is not Rocket Science. If the starters can not do what they are paid to for then they need replacing. It is not a difficult job, they need people who can perform and have respect from the drivers, rather than being mates to them and letting them get away with it! Brad Steele needs to come down on them if he indeed is here to lead.

All of the above you would be thinking. There are some things that must be improvements to what we had, but overall I believe that what this outfit Racing and Sports trusted for 20+ years puts out is so inferior to what we had. The fact that Trackside only shows the win dividends for both tote and fixed, clearly shows that Entain does not give a damn about Punters. Info is not always accurate and the horse comments are laughable.

LOL, another incompetent starter! Seriously what an absolute farce Newmarket! How anyone could possibly think that this is acceptable? Brad Steele should be advertising for people who actually are competent! Time he stepped up and came out and apologised for what is going on, but he wont because it does not affect the amount of money they are getting each week from the ones that pay him! That is just one of the many shockers that we are dished up and yet their is no consequences! They would rather hammer the Amateurs who receive no financial compensation . Farcical and not good enough. Why isnt this incompetence brought up on The Box Seat, rather than discussing races that were run last week?

The truth of the matter is that many of the drivers know that they can get away with it from the starter. It is just not fair on the Punters when these starts are just too poorly executed. The 2000metre so called stands are the worst as the drivers know that if they are slow away they are going to struggle! The starter I am sure is a nice bloke, however he is paid to do the job of starting both mobile and standing starts in a professional and fair way! Unfortunately far too often the standing starts are not fair and are not standing starts and are shocking! Either the Club bans the stands from the 2000m or the starter officiates the starts correctly. The starter has had many years of experience starting races and we get this crap dished up to the Punters!!! Yes he needs to be heavily fined for any poor starts, instead they want to fine or heavily suspend amateur drivers who use the whip outside the stupid whip rule? Pathetic really!

Time to ban the standing starts at Addington! Time and time again they are an absolute shocker. When Peter Lamb was replaced by Donnelly we all thought things had to get better, but no we were wrong. The last race just run, some of the horses were charging the tape and he lets them go and then calls a false start twice! Seriously HRNZ really do need to look at improving their professionalism or the industry is totally stuffed . Long overdue that they get someone who actually gives a damn starting races and also have a clean out of the officialdom as it is just not good enough!! Maybe I need Forbury to express himself as well. It is a real turn off for those concerned about the industry and we all know the industry is in trouble despite the Entain and Trackside media hype. Brad Steele needs to step up and sort it out bigtime.

interesting that all these very good drivers have come out of the Kentuckiana set up, they must be doing something right! Dont think Cran will mind, but you could not really include Cran in that group as a driver! Nice bloke and top trainer though.

Reality is they are putting in 900million into racing in Nz So Franklin being bought by Entain would be a far better option if they want harness to continue in Auckland. ATC now gave no one for the Franklin site and they are looking at getting nowhere near the 90m or so that the Chinese were paying so there is going to be a very big shortfall, and who is going to wear this? ATC will not be able to trade their way out and keep racing without soneone outting in s massive amount! Who is going to be doing this with what their racing currently offers? Do I think that harness racing is able to continue in Auckland with the amount they are bleeding, no it is impossible! .

Lol, unfortunately Forbury has a crack at many drivers that he thinks are nil! It seems to give him a lot if grief and I am just thinking about his welfare. If it is so bad then you are better not to indulge in punting surely?

Interesting, Carter’s UDR is over .3 and Forbury thinks he is a poor driver? We are lucky at the moment we have several very good Junior drivers going around. Knocking drivers is not of any benefit to anyone.. Personally believe if you do not like the drives of horses you have backed, then probsbly time to stop investing? Plenty of opportunity to offload and make money without complaining

Seriously how generous are the TAB. The TAB giving you $2.50 from $1.60 on Beside Me tonight at Cambridge. That is fine but seriously maximum bet $20??? I suppose that is good for some punters but a max bet of $20 is pathetically low isnt it?

Where actually is the money from the Forbury track gone? Entain wouldve be far better off subsidising racing from Forbury than Alexandra Park surely? Harness racing at Alexandra Park racing the wrong way around and with small fields and few stables is never going to be financially viable.

Possibility that they will be racing on a wettish track as they are expecting heavy rain tomorrow. Hopefully it will stop before the meeting starts or the numbers attending will be down and will be miserable for participants if it is raining.
