Cambridge &Addington - Friday night???
Flagship uberalles replied to Brodie's topic in Trotting Chat
But look at the rugby crowds, worse than the racing ones! Go back to 3pm rugby games on a Saturday and then onto the trots, but everything done for the greedy rugby union selling the t.v rights, they don't give a toss if the punters don't turn up to games so long as they watch on sky. I used to love going to sat night trots at Alex park as a kid, big crowds and my sister and I knew we'd get a burger and chips from the burger van on course plus $10 from the old man to punt with for the night! -

Hopefully a few Aussies will make the trip for NZ cup or this year's will be the weakest in its grand history. -

Trotters definitely still the most exciting ticket in town globe. seeing some of those great trotters clash will get me out to the track! Good luck with yours this season, a very exciting spring and summer ahead for you. -

With races like the Maurice Holmes vase likely to be eviscerated in the coming years due to lack of top class horses, surely we need more incentives for owners not to sell high class horses overseas. A great piece from Garrick knight in the press today, also saying there are only 18 Pacers in the south island rated 85 and over! It really makes a complete joke of our system that people have to nominate horses so far out of their class to enable some classic big money races to go ahead.

Simple, don't read the thread, or add some informative content, and dont speak in riddles, then maybe you can try and claim the moral high ground!

I think Michael house really places his low grade horses brilliantly, be good if he started getting some tighter assessed horses and made the big races competitive again. Are you saying Brodie that he is getting the horses that all stars are rejecting from their pool of owners?
-
Worth leasing and sending to a small stable especially up north where the money is good but quality is not, I'm sure people have had real bargains from those 2 sites.
-
I don't think you could say they aren't, but it's an expensive process to use on low class horses, but who knows with the big money on offer at Alex park.
-
Hunter your mate is back? ..at least he has blocked us so he won't read what we say about him!!
-
I don't think that the quality of horse with the house team would make blood spinning cost effective!! But I'm sure as time goes on northern owners will see the benifit of sending top quality horses to the new partnership.

What are you doing up and about on a Sunday? I thought Sunday morning you dressed the princess up as Jacinda, you know put a hijab on her and a set of false teeth in her gob!..I do know the history with you Barry and Mardi, I have lived it for at least the last 3 years. surely time to bury the hatchet and move on ? PS sorry about my ellipsis I have epillisy.

Good on the guys putting their balls on the line putting up tips.. Barry and Mardi have put up some good winners when they tipped on here and r.c..if people criticize all the time it will just dampen others enthusiasm to have ago .

Surprised the tab hasn't restricted that as well!

Monday Night Viewing - Miracle Mile 1980
Flagship uberalles replied to Happy Sunrise's topic in Trotting Chat
It is atmosphere that is missing, everything is made for t.v, so they can pump out race after race, straight from menangle to Dapto dogs then Seoul, everything dumbed down to squeeze every $$$$ from the punter without them going to the track. The magic slowly being eroded. You are right about Gloucester park probably the only Australasian non grass track (apart from Addington cup week) that you could go to on a Friday night and watch exciting racing with a decent crowd. -
The great thing about mark MCS calling was you never could predict the banter, always natural always off the cuff, never boring and monotone..we need Chris Alford (the puppet) to drive at Alex park to put a spanner in the works!

Which is another point, the "yellow fever" may as well play at the local park! -

Great track was Harold park, give me that any day over the monstrosity that is menangle!! Having been to watch a couple of super rugby games at Westpac stadium in Wellington a few years ago, I thought that would have been an ideal place for a small Harold park like track, couldn't do any worse attendance wise to super rugby games, which is piss poor along with the non existent atmosphere! Sure all Black's play there once in a while, but I would much prefer to go to a nice track made for spectators rather than watch a bunch of over rated wankers run around! -
Yes fantastic caller Marky boy, we don't seem to produce many decent homegrown callers for the past 20 odd years, Davy Mac last of the very good old school ones left, the young ones now are all a bit squeaky and "school boy" sounding .the new Otago caller definitely a good move, Aussies have great callers coming out their ears.

Don't get confused happy as tab now also taking bets from Micky g's R Seoul too?
