  1. Must admit, I prefer the grass track at Rangiora.
  2. What was the other horse Richard had that went well elsewhere, also had Bopper in its name? Think it turned out quite handy
  3. It’s dead isn’t it? I see he thanked all the Harness members for playing nicely, stating his job is easy now that troublemakers have gone? You make yourselves look foolish scoobs, the reason you don’t have to moderate, NOBODY HAS POSTED!
  4. No surprise, why would he reply to something he was wrong on? That’s not his style.
  5. Needs a weaker lot next start.
  6. Nobody has mentioned anything, most would be scared shitless to knock the horse in case they get banned! Funny thing, he bagged Tom Melbourne, said it was weak? Finished 2nd ?
  7. Poor thing will sleep well. Brain explosion of a ride, was only ever going to be a chance if it had a real good run. Cant blame her thou, a certain guy would have been chipping away at her for days telling her how good it was, so she rode it accordingly. Just wonder what the excuse will be, 1, Too many horses in race? 2, Too hard a run? 3, Didn’t Eat up ? 4, Off her water? 5, Didn’t travel well? 6, We couldn’t get any Nescafé? 7, Didn’t want hard run, so eased up? 8, Ran fastest last 600m ever anywhere? 9, Ran fastest first 600m ever anywhere? 10, Spider bit her?
  8. Only finished 8 lengths from Winx too, sadly most of the field finished closer.
  9. Yes, true. I do wish owners well.
  10. Double R, Did follow bopper for a while, seems a heartbreak horse. Most horses in races go good sectionals, sometimes we get sucked into times. Certainly not a genuine horse, good luck to Richard, but not a horse I think suits Aussie racing.
  11. Well, as usual the know all is labeling this a good thing today? Not sure why, regardless of his B/S spin on its previous runs, it’s a one paced mare, that seems past its best. Connections should have sent it to Aussie earlier on, have it trained there, could have picked up some easy races. Waller has got a few runners in field, so holds the aces, winner will come from them. As for Consensus, it will battle on, but won’t finish in top 5. Dont worry thou, will be plenty of excuses after race from you know who.
  12. Loved the hurdlers!
  13. Just changed the ChCh press to a small fold up version, looks about the same as the many free ones we get from ChCh areas. Only thing, it costs $2.40 if you buy it from shop?? I suggest The Press in this format will be extinct soon
  14. Pity we don’t know a vet who could get involved in a well mannered, calm discussion. ?
  15. Thought it was an unusual drive. Next up written all over it, doesn’t help you this week.
  16. Flag, your right. Another goodun misty anna. I’ve never followed the dogs that much, but I love the hype around the top ones in any code, it’s what gets us excited. As a kid, probably late 70s, the whole family went to a fireworks display at QE2. Not sure what the other entertainment was, but I do recall a dog race or 2. Which looking back, I still remember the packed stadium roaring as these dogs flew around the track. Anyone remember this?
  17. Wow, didn’t think he raced at Addington. Course stats, mud etc was always s good guide at QE2. Was a real team effort, boys pushing starting traps to different distance starts before race, good viewing, you could sit on any seat around the track. I did enjoy the grass racing. Do dogs now have more injuries at Addington than they did QE2?
  18. So why is Laxis banned here?
  19. To be honest, until these posts were put up, and Mardys comp, I didn’t really take much notice of this carnival. Big money on offer alright
  20. Good stuff Basil , that surprises me comparing barrier draw stats.
  21. You’ve been around for a long time in the game John, what is wrong with the game? Does seem to be a Nth island issue? I used to go to QE2 Park to watch the dogs racing, around the time Shorty Bijou Raced. Think that was his name, used to fly out wide on the grass track, you could nearly touch him he was that wide.
  22. I did like Brian Martin asa commentator, loved the sport, and showed some passion. If he is now working as a scientist, that is good news. All the best to him.
  23. Be great to have him back
  24. Well, maybe he wasn’t drunk, but I thought that they suspected him to be drinking, then they replaced him with mark Rosso. Sadly, everything on tv about the dogs appears to always be negative, real shame
  25. Brian Martin was stood down one night was he not?
