  1. Your probably right about membership numbers, but here in Christchurch the 3 main clubs, Richmond, Hornby & Papanui seem to be very busy. With drinking driving, no smoking etc, certainly see less people drinking large amounts, which is probably good. But they all have cafes, lunch and dinner which numbers fill up each night, so i assume its just moving with the times, a few of the other smaller clubs will be hurting
  2. I agree, some of those bets last night were very strange. Those same race multis offer poor odds, also why not have somebody who knows about racing doing selections. Judging by feedback last night, think they may struggle to get $17k in pool next week.
  3. Hey Chief, I know your close to the stable…. you got any oil on La Dorado tonight at the Valley? Pretty keen on Alabama Lass… $6 is a gift.
  4. No need for BGP, Betcha is now catering for the young sports / racing punters.
  5. Only 3 Workingmans Clubs in the Sth Island?? Its easy to see you worked for TAB…
  6. Good God…. Not another Te Akau post 🤮
  7. TAB tightening up on all promos etc…. no surprises here. Was always offering over inflated odds and money back….
  8. Haha…. No thought do some fundraising to upgrade toilets…. never been changed since i started going early 80s
  9. Even the 3 scratchings were handy nags….
  10. Thought same, Jeanie more of a sit and sprint type, i was surprised to see her pour the pace on, connections were pretty confident it would go close, odds dropped to $8.50 to $6 start time. As you say, good run considering pace set, i think being with the Dunns has suited her, last win was good. Mind you, i suppose if Dunn had slowed up he would have found himself deep along the rails with several lead changes…. funny how it was only leader really to fold on day, only leader i backed 🤣
  11. Just to add… Stortford Lodge was disqualified from 2nd… only to be reinstated at a later date. Something that never happens now…
  12. As per usual, was a great day at Motukarara….. but really the club needs to renovate toilets behind food caravans. Far too small cubicles, but for a small amount of money the insides can be altered, have less amount of loos, will give more room, they are bloody disgusting. If they cant afford it, run some raffles or something….i would buy. Anyway, that is the only negative, Chief will be happy about that. After i got home, i looked up a couple of horses i followed on HRNZ….. while scrolling i found this field from Oct 1984…. Wow that is a great field compared to what raced today, although Oscar today was the highlight, super win.
  13. Things will get worse… yapping to a couple of dog trainers last week, both said once dogs are gone, they will no longer bet …
  14. Well race 8 about to start, a little bit gusty but had it far worse here. Once again, leaders bias bigtime, some of these drivers are happy enough to watch those dawdling up front….
  15. Sadly Chief gets all his info off Racing.com, usually copy & paste…. Really need to analyse races yourself, you get a clearer picture. What nonsense to even mention DR ran last 600m quicker than winner…. Majority of field did as it did it from the front. Maybe explain the basics…. front runner has the early burn to lead, DR did nothing early…so obvious last 600m. Maybe when you post Te Akau stories or so called success…. just turn off comments, will save you coming to the rescue each time…we know you love them, cant understand why you dont have a few nags with them…
  16. Will be interesting to see if meeting goes ahead tomorrow, Canterbury has a severe Red Wind Warning, winds up to 150kmh. I did some great study for the meeting too, in fact for the first time ever, i will invest on all of M House runners, think all a good chance at good odds. Others i like… R2- Something Else R3- Shes A Major Act R4 -Jaspri Trouble R9- Radio Active Jaffa Good luck all
  17. What happened with this horse Chief? Punters were jumping out of trees after you labeled it a champ!
  18. Yes, they have done everything they can to get everyone punting online…. then oooops, i think we need the other punters after all…. how do we get them back knowing they have closed most TAB outlets…. Wow
  19. Haha, yes true. If they had offered earlier on i would have accepted…but just not a fan of TAB anymore…
  20. No 15 in that race was big, went straight past Damsk…. And no 9 was very unlucky, held up by Damsk.
  21. Bullshit yourself….i said it drew wide, but slotted in one off so dont use that as an excuse, had good run. At least 2 horses from further back ran past it last 100m. As for time, the whole field ran that time, so what?? Once again, you get upset if anyone mentions your prized stable. While we are on it, for the amount of runners they had racing today…. pretty average results for some expensive nags.
  22. Damsk Rose just a run today at Caulfield, drew wide but got lovely run, just battled. Another one that would have been better racing in NZ today, could easily win nice races here against NZ nags.
  23. TAB For Ever…, look at this thread mate, give us your opinions
  24. What a load of BS…. The way you talk confirms you work for TAB. Anyway, things not going too well are they, TAB struggling indeed, even sent me deposit match today, first since i was banned betting in Aus… nah stuff them. I also see an advert on TV today….. Exclusive odds are now being offered at terminals only…🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, FFS, i thought they dont give a shit about terminal punters….
