  1. Good on ya Rich Hill!! Besides the horse flash on show I really liked the casual, spacious setting for the parade - the nice easy manner of the handlers - and in turn, the relaxed way the stallions paraded. I was expecting the commentary to be from the stud master on the day but it had been spliced in from the promotional material. No matter. It might have been hard to get a good soundtrack under conditions. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Actually hope to be doing business with them next season. Thanks Rich Hill - and Huey for sharing. J.
  2. ... oh and I think I am in love with Redwood ...
  3. Movie maestro mustelid! I have no idea how you did that either Weasel but that was bloody great! And with a sound track! Now unless you have secret cinematographer talents or are an undercover Westbury Weasel - I'm left thinking how cool is that and how readily could all these parades be shared amongst lots of keen breeders (and fans/tyre kickers) who are unable to attend on the day. Thanks very much Weasel. Nice work that man ⭐⭐⭐
  4. Ah my mustelidus maximus. I'm sure your pics would be appreciated by more than just this breeding fan. Come on now. Don't be shy. Don't make me beg..
  5. Oh Weasel. Not sure who is the bigger star ⭐ - you or Redwood! Thanks very much for that - he looks a picture. Good effort on the camera. Imagine if we got one of these for each horse paraded this time of year ... Looks like you got a good day for it too. Anyone off to Rich Hill?
  6. That's what I'd like to see them do Huey! Here's hoping ....
  7. Yes everything's subjective - especially when it comes to big egos... the picture that is painted is sometimes the one which portrays the image one wants to project. This may or may not reflect the facts.
  8. Bit concerned about WP actually. Don't think he's looked at all well for a while now. Hope all is ok with him. At least wth the Messara Report he's tried to do something about racing. This effort alone would put him ahead of several others who've held the position ..
  9. That's Sod's law in action 4 ya Barry ...
  10. Oh how cool she was over there for it! Bet if he is retired now (or soon) he'll be well loved and looked after. Good on Rachel and the King. J.
  11. Didn't watch the race but see he won - what a war-horse. Should take him over a $mill in earnings??

Not denying anyone else the puzzle n pleasure of doing so, but I'm not tht taken with the whole notion of ranking horses of different eras against each other ... So hard to make valid comparisons if they can never race one another ... think I'm content to admire champions (past n present) for themselves. Oh and dream a little, as I sit here with eyes on the expanding belly of my mare as she waddles off after being fed ...

Hi FtF - that's interesting. I didn't know of that work but observationally reached the same conclusions. It is the rate at which those legs move which gets her along. At the risk of being shot down in flames it's not necessarily the most beautiful or elegant action you might see - but ultimately it's incredibly efficient. And of course when time after time she's first past the post in big races, if i owned so much as a hair in her tail I'd think everything about her was beautiful ?

Been comments on it here and every time I watch her I think about that galloping action. It is just so purely efficient. It looks like every ounce of energy is converted effectively into making that horse cover the ground. It's almost mesmerising. Can't get tired of watching that mare move. Would be an interesting biomechanical study. WOW!! What a horse.
  15. Now ya talkin' Weasel ..... my frisky ferrety lil friend ? J.
  16. Redwood please Weasel ...
  17. Don't be mean Foxy ... fact is ALL foals are better looking than human babies ... ?
  18. Best post from you ever Tomtom.
  19. This rubbish exchange belongs on the other channel. Either that or sling mud at one another to your hearts' content via private message. I sense the chief is trying not to be heavy-handed but i think he's over it too. C'mon guys. We're better than this ... J.
  20. Did anyone notice the commentary for the race - adn in particular - the ride on Jackfrost?
  21. If some of these jocks are having trouble with adrenaline and the whip rules - let alone horsemanship - perhaps it's time for another option for addressing these transgressions. Maybe in addition to options of fines and suspensions there should be a kilometre or so running at full pace with a jolly good thrashing with a whip over the last 100m. Youmaythink it's unorthodox but I reckon it would be a great deterrent .... J.
  22. Don'tcha love it? A mare with a sound if unspectacular race record - but the owners (and breeders of the mare in the first place from what I can see) have kept the faith and bred - and she is producing winners. Well spotted the mustelid (?) - and all teh very best to the owners of the mare and her progeny. All power to you folks. J.
  23. Yep thanks Chief. Enjoying things here. It can be a fine line between free speech and people being pains in the ... buttocks, serial pests and ruining it for the majority. But so far so good and the moderation seems to have been done with a light hand and no favoritism. C'mon out Chief - take a bow and accept the accolades - if you don't post on this thread I'll be worried the men in suits that you were threatened with have finally turned up and dealt to you ? All the best. J.
  24. Yeah Thomass. That'll be it. An incompetent female. Just a suggestion - there's another site where misogynist gits fit right in and feel much more at home than BOAY ...
  25. It's that time of year again. Looking forward to photos/videos/opinions from `yarners who attend these.
