billy connolly
Continual Professional Development (CPD) ensures all license holders have the relevant skills and knowledge to move ahead in the industry. NZTR want all license holders to be passionate advocates for the industry which will involve completing an on-line series of courses and certifications by June 30 annually to hold their license. Fuck me, I always thought practical knowledge and opportunity were the two essentials to succeed in this game. 2

Chief Stipe
What does any of the current NZTR management know about training a horse? Let alone producing a track they can compete fairly on!

How they think that is likely to improve any licence holder's skills and abilities is beyond me. I was expecting a series of workshops that we could choose from relative to the licence we hold or an online conference with presentations from leading trainers, jockeys, track riders etc. from around the world, not a slapped together propaganda promo about how well we are doing. Like everything else it's all talk and do nothing. Probably too busy getting settled in the new facilities at Cambridge. If you notice any changes in the quality of the trackwork riding, or changes in training methods or how stablehands are handling the horses in coming weeks Freda, do let us know.

The little catch-phrases they kept repeating - the cheer-leading corporate speak propaganda. As soon as people start talking about ruddy "journeys" they lose me. Special Agent
Some are trying to make racing a whole new world. Last time I looked the work behind the scenes is still the hard work, and sometimes boring, it ever was. Many in racing do not abide by this new age crap, and really do not have any time for it. After all, time on earth (to me anyway) is precious.

I think the 'ever challenge' for anyone with a few goes around the clock! re engaging with Racing currently, is how to be squeezing some fun and enjoyment out it! sometime easier said than done.... And for good measure:- a few more of my personal favorites: "moving forward" (someone trying to sound progressive when they most likely are rooted to the spot & full of 💩) "aspirational goal" - (pie in the sky - impossible dream. Sometimes seen hanging out with its equally irritating cousins "blue sky thinking" and "thinking outside the box") "but what I CAN tell you is ...." - (the way to start an answer when one totally ignores the tricky question that's been asked but one has been directed to deliver the speech prepared by your Comms staff member - no matter what's been asked ) "standing up" - as in a system, process or infrastructure (seems we've retired the work "established") "at this particular point in time" (previously known as "now") "socialise the concept" (= serve up some 💩 & give the ppl some time to suck it up) "consultation" - (see above - very similar but also giving the (false) impression the people can stop the 💩 being served up) Edited May 9 by jess 3
