I was thinking of her Geraldine 3yo win (now the Canterbury Belle stakes) the start before the Guineas which I think she won by many lengths. I think she also won a Southland Guineas. It has been a good horses race over the years. Quote

But what other option is there? Fly to Auckland and then travel down? If you are coming from the south staying at Trentham wouldn't be much fun either. Quote

The Centaur Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 I make the time 2nd fastest in last 30 years. Fastest was Beech Sky back in February 2000. Beech Sky won at least 15 races and on the day track was very firm so times generally much faster that day. Quote

Huey Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Wow seriously impressive, surely gets picked up for the slot race now. Would add some much needed interest to that race. Quote

I would think the Slot Holder would have a significant say in who would ride. The Slot Holder holds all the cards. Good luck negotiating with Wightman though. Quote

Chief Stipe Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Can anyone explain to me why the horse needed to win by more than 8 lengths and get hit with the whip? Quote

Chief Stipe Posted February 15 Posted February 15 What I don't get is if Pivotal Ten is as good as you are all saying why not put her on a plane to Auckland (or OZ) and try for some if the 3yr old filly Group races? In my opinion heading to Trentham is a risk not worth taking for what gain? Quote

At least wait until the morning before you give him a ring and offer Colin some tactical advice. Quote

A few Listed races on its 3yr old CV is hardly maximising its value if it is as good as everyone says it is. Quote

I'd stay in the SI and win the other races available to it, going to Ellerslie is a big difference. Quote
