Jesus, you hardly need super fast fibre for a betting site. I have pretty good wifi speeds, netflix, sky go etc work fine, no buffering. Beteasy, betfair, trade me, ebay etc no problem. Only thing that is now shithole is tab app and site on all devices. Dont be fooled by being told internet is the issue

Exactly shyte design!  I can't understand having bought (or licensed) a pre-made system from an organisation that offers essentially the same products that there are so many problems.

Actually thinking about it a bit more I can.  The $50m went on customising it for kiwi English.

They'll be having contractural issues between the developer and the host provider as well.  Finger pointing.

I'd love to be on the forensic team for the review and remediation.

It just took 12 seconds to load the site.  Then I clicked on the ad for betting on the Levin Classic and that to 12 seconds to load.

Seems nothing is cached browser side which means you get the same result the next time you do the above.

Could we list all the aspects that need attention, on a new thread, no bitching, just what needs doing.

I'll start

1.  The results page for a meeting is cumbersome. Need to be able to page up or down, once you are in to see all results for that meeting, without having to go back to the header to click on each race number

Hesi with all respect, this is so bad !!. The cost  and the way in which this is being handled is Veeeery Suspect......For a reported $50mil this is crazy. You and us should not have to Report Anything.  .If Glenda and her corrupt crew  are genuine why has the  Racing Fraternity just been dealt the bigest ripp off (Con) in racing history . This is unbelievable ......I had a site that worked within reason okay.. I have now a site that is a disaster......

Yep, scanned the first two races at Wanganui on twinspires this morning before the first opened on the TAB and I clicked that first. It's way slower than the old site yet the higher res video streaming seems to work flawlessly.

Just updated the mobile android app on my phone.  Took longer to load than the mobile website!

The App uses 29Mb of space - what for I have no idea.  Also you can't store on your SD card which I dislike.

Haven't tried that yet but the mobile website on an Android seems about the same as on the PC.....slow as a wet week.

Well I must be one of the customers they want to keep, I am having zero speed issues.

Login takes less than 1 sec, I click on Saturday and its there instantly, Levin Classic less than 1 sec to open.

Pretty much anywhere on the site is instant, no delays clicking on anything.

Are you still using a 486?.

386 for betting. It's IBM original though, not a cheap Chinese knockoff. Should be good for a few more years :).I do only have a quarter your speeds though .... on rural broadband, but as I said, no issues with other sites, the old site or the new video streaming.

If I go from racing to sport or vv it takes about 6 secs of circly things to load

For you & Curious.

Hardly an issue with internet....it seems no one has complained about watching trackside on device, which would be more of an internet problem. Just a crap app, nothing more.

I don't consider a PDF on a website driven by a database an INDEX.

Trainer Index for Wanganui JC, 10 Jan 2019

Them's their words, CS, not mine, cut and pasted from the PDF you despise!

So you are clearly at variance with the TAB's idea of what constitutes an Index. Why not ask them to supply it other format(s)? as well.

Still haven't received my reset password.

Wanted to punt on Darussafaka in the Euro League.  I liked the name.

I think that's the TAB team, you got the name wrong, I'm sure it's  "Dahuselessfukas"

My VDSL speed is 20mbs which is sufficient to run netflix and any other betting site except NZ TAB.

I've been giving the site a bit of time before making conclusions although from day one I've said the $50M spend was crazy.

Now looking at the site source code bearing in mind much of it is hidden quite frankly it doesn't make sense. For a single character of information like a placing there is a 100 characters of junk. No wonder it becomes slow when the same is multiplied hundreds of times. What happened to the idea of classes. Whatever they are programming in its useless. Thats from 50 years of programming experience.

That might explain the speed problem but I know stuff all about programming and what the source code should look like. Any of you others with programming expertise had a look at this?

They are programming using the JavaScript framework React.js.  however my understanding is that the term "framework" is an overstatement with regard to React.

12 seconds to load again.

I guess that's why I still haven't received a password reset email even though I was promised one two days ago.

Bit of a bugger really as I wanted to punt on the next at M43 Aqueduct (is that close to the Viaduct?).  There's $7 in the Win and Place pools.  Really want a piece of that.

It's good though that the bookies have been up early and set Fixed Odds for the USA meetings.

A decent each way bet and you could get the whole lot. 67k in the win pool at twinspires.

I've looked but difficult to know what exactly is going on in the areas you don't see. I'm more of a .net developer myself. But comparative performance between that site and most others is a strong indication that things are poor.

Good find. Was that in the FAQs on the uppingthegame site? Oh yeahh, see it now. Did you see info about how to do that? I assume I have to write my own code. I wonder what other info comes with the tote odds data. Ad why would they make FO info so difficult to access similarly.

It's ironic that I can go onto twinspires.com in the US and have a bet at Wanganui using free conditional betting service that allows me to place the bet say 1 minute before tote close provided my pricing condition is met at the time and also to download free handicapping software that interacts with the website data, yet this lot have not only not provided it but don't even appear to consider it necessary to compete and grow the business.

I did an 'ask them a question' on this yesterday morning. Didn't receive an acknowledgement that I'd even asked a question, and have heard nothing. First class customer service!
