30 HOURS TO THE BIGGEST COCK UP BY TAB

Recommended Posts

6.00pm Sunday night the TAB closes to relaunch their new 50+million dollar platform for NZ ONLY punters.

When will John Allen come out and tell us the true cost to date and what the on going yearly cost will be.

If you have got use to easy betting FF numbers that flow from race to race get ready for a disaster.

Life is going to get hard if you enjoy multi's at the same meeting

As John Allen has put the future of the TAB  into this will he resign if it fails

On Monday we'll be launching an exciting new TAB website and mobile app, along with tens of thousands of new fixed odds betting options.

Between 7pm Sunday, 6 January and 12pm Monday, 7 January we'll be turning off our existing website and app, and moving our customer data from the old system into the new.

During that time you will be unable to log into your account, top up your account, place a bet or check results. All betting services, including our website, retail outlets, and mobile app, will be unavailable while we carry out this work.

Races scheduled to take place during the outage will not be available for betting at any time on Sunday.

We'll do our very best to complete this work as quickly as we can and expect normal services to be back up and running by 12pm.

What you need to do on day one:
  • To log into your account for the first time, have your username and password handy. If you need help with this you can call our TAB Customer Services team on 0800 102 106.
  • If you are a TAB mobile app user you will need to upgrade your app. iPhone users will be prompted to visit the Apple store to upgrade if you do not have automatic updates set on your phone. Android users will be prompted to visit www.tab.co.nz to update their app. The prompt will happen when you open our app for the first time once we're back up and running.
  • Keep an eye on www.uppingyourgame.co.nz for any updates or information.
If you get stuck:
  • Take a look at our our FAQ section or submit your own question
  • Check your inbox, we've been emailing you!
  • Get in touch with our wonderful TAB Customer Services team on 0800 102 106
  • Find out more at www.uppingyourgame.co.nz
We appreciate your patience and look forward to upping your game!

The future of betting is nearly here.

Thanks,
The TAB team

You have to feel sorry for the Cromwell and Greymouth clubs, the chances are high no one will be able to get any bets on with the TAB, don’t know why they wouldn’t wait until Xmas racing is over and do it on a quiet midweek day for the changeover, oh that’s right, they are muppets.

Well any decent project team would have managed the cutover without any downtime.

Only thing that seems a plus will be the cash out option. Every other agency had option for years, but tab seems excited about it

Whole system down.

Yeah obviously the whole system is down during the upgrade, but when it comes live again will all the self service terminals be running new software and operational so we can bet on the new platform using them?

It's bizarre. You have to re-log in? Surely not. I wonder how many will and what will happen to total accounts because of that. Not sure I'll bother if I can get my dough out. Be pissed if I have to set up a new account to do so.

Isn't re-logging in just entering your current user name and password on the new website/app - surely it's not going through the whole "new account" process as if that's the case, there's no point in the long shut-down to transfer over customer data?

Hopefully you are right. I may have misinterpreted that.

Think it wil be Otaki tomorrow that will likely be the most effected.  Still galloping clubs don't make any money from turnover these days so it won't be so bad for them.

But the "shame" is that these guys think the new system will make a huge difference.  It won't even if it works.

It’s really just bringing them into line with there competition. While it will be an improvement it’s hard to see it being a game changer.

Exactly. Nothing game changing about it.

They're years behind the competition and this will put them on the same path, but the product/odds/technology will still be behind their offshore competitors.

Everything they're about to offer has been in place offshore for years.
