Anyone with any sense of fairness can see that this policy that allows OTG to wager as much as they want on any bet and with no restrictions, when they restrict non employess is blatantly misguided! Brodie is more than happy for them to punt away on the greyhound favourites but then everyone should be allowed the same luxury! Hope the boys keep the winning up but they need to talk to management about how unjust the current policy is! At the end of the day Andrew Vouros did say he wanted to increase turnover! Quote
Brodie Posted Sunday at 03:58 AM Posted Sunday at 03:58 AM Is “Out The Gate” bring dropped permanently or just over Xmas New Year? Hopefully it is permanently but is it due to them finally making money? Lol The idea is possibly ok but the way they operate on the Thursday night is poorly executed! They mainly punt on the greyhounds Same race multi this, multi this, blah blah blah! They are allowed to wager whatever they want with no restrictions which is in contrast to the some of the genuine loyal punters of the TAB! If these employees are allowed to punt with no restrictions then it has to be the same for all punters! wonder whether it has attracted any new punters or turned off existing punters from watching? They be stuffed once the Greyhounds in NZ are terminated. Quote

Strange as it, on Facebook quite a few there reckon it's a great show, they will most likely be aged 30 or less, I think it achieves nothing but the younger generation are different, I'm sure all us oldies were no different 30 plus years ago, I simply don't watch it, these days I'm watching less and less racing, when I do I can happily watch the racing and not even bet, not sure Entain would encourage everyone doing that lol. If it attracts a lot of new participants to the racing industry then that is a positive for having the show! Think it is not a great look the way they are not betting responsibly despite what the TAB advertises! When they put on $500 and it loses, they always say it was only a little bet or something along those lines, as if it is a pittance and doesnt matter!! And yet the TAB is restricting some punters to amounts of 20% of that amount as a maximum bet??? It is total hypocrisy and needs to be seriously addressed, as it is blatantly WRONG! 1 Quote

Entain keep giving them free $1000 bonus bets to keep going Why do they need to be given all this free money to bet with? Going to be interesting to see if OTG js continued in the New Year? Hardly encouraging harness racing when they mostly offload on these Same Race Multis on the Greyhounds, which are going to be terminated from NZ in July! Thursday nights now has emphasis on the Dish Lickers which is unfortunate I wouldve thought, as it takes very little skill to be wagering on them! Quote

Thursday nights now has emphasis on the Dish Lickers which is unfortunate I wouldve thought, as it takes very little skill to be wagering on them! i always thought there was an irony in how the out the gate crews betting evolved.. The show was on a thursday,a traditional nz harness night. and we recognise, the out the gate crew was trying encourage greater interest from the casual observer of harness racing, those who may not have normally watched, with the intent of showing them they didn't need to spend much to have a bit of fun and entertainment and to spark some future interest in harness racing.. atl east that was what i think they have been trying to do. I think have been reasonably successful in achieving that as relates to the greyhounds. But ,through no fault of theirs, the out the gater crew had to deal with a cambridge harness product that even the avid harness fans, realised was the worst example of a nz harness betting product in nz then you add to that they used aaron whites selections. Now,as i said earlier,a white can tip ok at auckland, but at cambridge he kept tipping serial gallopers and horses driven that gave the impression either they werennt trying or that they just went back and followed them around like they would wait for a 6 horse field the following week where they may get a better draw. so,as i have pointed out in an earlier post, the out the gate team, soon realised this harness product is not what they should be betting on,as after all,it may not have been their money, but they wanted to make money for the people who had invested in their pools ,so they realised they needed to focus on the dogs and the dogs you could tell were trying each time and their selector,a mccook, seems to be a knowledgable tipster. so the irony was,the out the gate team tried to support the harness racing product more,i'm sure wanted to,but the cambridge harness product simply is not a great product to promote harness racing wagering and the out the gate team exposed that, which was not their fault.
