Your not really getting my point, you are trying to involve yourself in things you weren't around at the time for, the reason why 99% of people are here on boay, including the owner of the site was the unfairness and 'inner circle' or favourites that could do no wrong on r.c.  And by the way, I'm pretty sure I said welcome to Boay to you!

Strange reply telling me i dont get it after you post that ive been slagging this site and some of its posters for 6 months on Racecafe when factually my first post was on Novemeber 18 2018 and its 30th January today . Hunter admitted he got me all wrong after attacking me , if your any sort of person you would now do the same.

You really do need to get over the RC thing or are you one of those types who cant let go and has to re-litigate any issue ad infinitum.

Site is certainly not what it was...that's for sure, but that's what you get when sites become bigger and more become involved? Surely you wouldn't just close up shop chief.....if your hearts not in it....maybe there could be other options?

Unfortunate kak, chief is in a no win situation, some will be happy some won't, sad but at least it's up for vote so majority will win and no excuses. Hope we can get back to normal asap, and friendships that have been though 100x worse can be repaired ?

unlikely to happen based on the 95%+ 'BOAYRemain'  and the 5% BOAYExit trend...

check the Tavistock stats (the Gosepl according to Mustelid Maximus*) in the Breeding section!!

Maximus is the name you gave me, if I recall correctly.

I have got to a decision point regarding the future of BOAY.

My tolerance for managing the sniping and bickering has got to a very low point.

I consider it unsavoury that what I believe is a minority are seeking to enforce their rule of law on the site.

Ok Chief.  The poll should speak to your heart if not your reason.

The silence  is deafening.

WHAT SAY YOU ?.

Hesi, re' the above, I did not want to quote the whole thing!

There are many of us who are very grateful that The Cheif and yourself created this forum.

A real shame it has got to this point, I agree with everthing you say, I personally cannot stand Thomass, so I just do not read anything he posts, I certainly would not allow him to push me away from the forum which on the whole I thoroughly enjoy.

Again Many Thanks, hoping you and The Cheif can do as Jess suggests in an earlier post.

Steve.

Well what I will say is that I have been heartened by the the support both publically and privately.  BOAY I guess has experienced some growing pains which comes with success.  Contrary to some opinions the recent "sagas" haven't affected the overall statistics which is a relief. It shows that the support for the site is real.

One of the problems that I have identified which is common with forums is where the community digresses very quickly from the thread topic and it ends up somewhere else.  Thomaas is not the ONLY one who does that - in fact there are a large group of posters that do.

Quite often someone misconstrues something and bites and then someone joins in and it becomes like the glorious food fight I remember from my Lincoln College days where a massive massive all in food fight started from someone just flicking a pea at someone with their teaspoon.

Those scenarios I can't manage and it requires each community member to exhibit some tolerance and constraint.

Also posters don't use the Report function much at all.  Since BOAY's inception there have been 36 reports.  Over half of those from one person.  Contrary to what members may think I do not read every single post.  I think I would go mad if I did but i don't because I don't have the time to read every post.  So I react to reports.

Now the alternative to the report system is moderate BEFORE the post goes public.  This involves putting people in an approval queue which will rely on me reading each post and approving before publication.  Another channel has this in play for quite a few posters.  In my opinion it ruins the dialogue MORE than the odd bad post.

Finally the Harmful Digital Communications Act is often bandied around and I have had a fair number of people either formally use it or reference it in their correspondence to me.  The fact is the Act focuses on the individual that made the comments not the platform they used to make them.  So beware when making comments online that you are not necessarily going to bring BOAY down but yourself.

Good to see your hanging in there Chief.

These sites need all types to make it work, they need the arguments, abuse, jokes, facts, lies etc, that is what makes others respond to posts.

I am sure it will work itself out, yes it is a little sad that some have gone, and others like myself have posted less, but thats life. People come and go all the time.

Chief has stood his ground on this topic, so you have to give him credit on that, regardless if you agree with it or not.

Funny thing is, thomass been well behaved lately
