It has quickly turned ugly.

Accordingly to media, over 100 horses already picked up this afternoon and on their way to other trainers.

Natural justice makes way for "sinking ship syndrome".

Quite outrageous.

How on earth can Racing Victoria punish an organisation i.e. many jobs lost, owners out of pocket all sorts of flow on effects without proper justice i.e. transparent investigation and due process. All because three jiggers found yet no jockeys or trackriders found using them.

Yes this is going to turn very ugly.

and no charges laid. If no charges are laid, or are ultimately unproven, how many millions the law suit? I repeat, I am not defending DKW...no-one knows all the facts at this stage, but reputational damage has been done already.

A cattle prod is a cattle prod -not a taser. The Aussie press like to be sensational . The prods became popular in NZ 40 odd years ago, most bull farmers would have one. Some horse trainers back then would apply vicks to the horses nostrils and give it a jolt or two in training. The horse would associate the vicks with the jolt and come race day the vicks would be applied and the horse would anticipate the jolt coming and perform accordingly. That was the theory. I complained to officialdom about one trainers use of a prod and was told "i'll have a word" I guess that was an old fashioned policemans way of handling things.

I'd like to use a 'prod' on a few politicians Fred, the former racing minister for one, but there's no battery big enough to emit the charge I'd use.......of course it would be a complete waste of time, and electricity, ....nothing could have 'sparked' that bloke into life. The current thing is no better either, .....maybe a flame thrower? you think?

I know it's tad off piste, however, what's the status with the Messara report? any movement on the 'retrenchments to save operating costs" per chance?

More anti N Z stuff from Rowley, taken with a grain of salt.

His partner posted constant anti N Z stuff on cafe, offer solutions Rowley instead of your negative spin.

Gee Baz, I'll tell ya what....the Bledisloe Cup is just around the corner and that's about the only time you'll ever win.  However the Polynesian Dance Troupe may struggle in Tokyo this year so it could end up a terrible Christmas for you...

Anyhow bugger off back to 'Cafe with Dr Herriott and his neutered mongrel Scooby ....but don't forget the flea treatment.  They tell me distemper is rife over there...or are they all at Weiry's break up party? ?

I recall one of my first employers using a cattle prod on a particularly capable, but moody colt.

He used to ride a smart galloper in company with this colt, and lean over and give the colt a 'zap' when his ears went back and he started to pull himself up.

It was very effective - to the point that he then had to give the galloping mate a zap to keep up......

No you don't get it......if you get caught shoplifting, and convicted, you are a thief....agreed? Guess what, this bloke has been caught cheating before you see, therefore he's a cheat...end of.

In the interests of balanced reporting can you post Chris Wallers rap sheet?  I think you'll find it is equally impressive.

Tell us how many winners this season for you in Qld Rowley?

Thats right, prize money doesn’t matter if you don’t win.

Cmon Bazza you can do better than that, go for it boyo......you're just plainly tired bolting back and forth from the Dr's Surgery on the other side.......

In fact Bazza, you reacted to my asking what the status is with retrenching at NZRB/TR.......I'm in your corner on all this, we have 14 horses left over in NZ.....trying STILL to support a great young local trainer and an industry stalwart of almost Icon status......a lovely lady to boot.....so no NZ bashing mate, not when we are coughing up nearly 12 k a month and race for chicken shit in an industry run by morons......how the hell they are still in their jobs is beyond me, at least in QLD everyone and I mean everyone stood up to the plate, how much longer should we tip in Baz? I'd hate to think what will happen to our young bloke if we pulled all our horses in one go.....and I mean that......Mrs Rowley and I are not such bad bastards Baz, we put up, but wont shut up.....not at our ages!

Good on you Rowley, if there is any truth to it.

Recall you saying you pulled the pin on NZ, now you have 14?

Not sure what you mean by truth to it, however we had 14 when we upped stumps, still do, just couldn’t bring ourselves to pull them from the trainer, it would devastate him so we have to carry the cross a little longer.  We shared the same trainer as you apparently so there you go.
