What "ongoing App issue"?  Did you run out of coins for the WiFi???

The camera is a joke. What both the inside and outside cameras weren't working. As for the new timing system, I'm beginning to think that's a myth. No sign of it today, nor yesterday at Riccarton which still doesn't even have last 600 times available.

The photo finish is posted for the race before and after the Mufthasa but not the Mufthasa.  Seems they are still working on the Stewards Report as well.

Immediately after the race Stewards were made aware that the photo-finish had failed to function. This resulted in a delay in declaring the result while the Judge confirmed his visual call by viewing video footage at length in the presence of the Stewards before declaring the official result. The Club will review circumstances as to the 
reasons for this malfunction occurring.

FFS issues with the photo finish and electronic timing has been going on for years now!!!

On a brighter note Mr Grumpy, the racing was fantastic and the track due to perfect drying conditions after a lot of rain early in the week provided the best surface I have seen at Trentham for quite some time.

Isn't that 3 years in a row that the Captain Cook/Mufthasa Group 1 has had serious issues?  I thought you'd be the first to call for accountability.

They yet again dodged a bullet.  If the margins had been a credit card thickness closer we'd still be waiting for a result.

It appears not only did the main system fail but so did the backup.

For the 6 of us trying to bet with Betch mid arvo, all had slooooow issues, couldnt accept bets. All using different phones and wifi…. hows that, you got anything to say?

There has often been jokes about NZ being 25 years behind the rest of the developed world. In 2003 High Chaparral won the breeders cup turf at Santa Anita ( I had the pleasure of being at the same track in 2009 and watched the spectacle that was Zenyatta). The video definition was not then to the quality it is today, so after 15 minutes of deliberation, similar to Trentham today ,i.e. a camera malfunction, A deadheat was declared between High Chaparral and Johar.

It was just the one race that they had the malfunction, then spent the extra time reviewing all they had, which was the video footage.

Better to take the extra time and get it right.  Pretty clear cut in the end

Except the video camera is not on the official finish line therefore the angle is incorrect.

There have already been a number of similar instances with the camera failing in the last two seasons.  If I recall correctly one involved tge Stewards over turning the Judges decision.

Well it appears you were all at the same location so that could be a localised 4G or 5G congestion issue.  There have been issues with ONE and SPARK capacity in recent weeks and also with cell tower upgrades.

Then again you could be using a 2G or 3G nokia clamshell.

Regardless the issue is most likely a network issue with a congestion point somewhere.  NOT an app issue.  

Looking at the issue you experienced it could very well indicate a growing pain problem - which looking at it positively is a good sign.
