I would not back it if it was paying $50 today but it has plenty of ability. Sounds Like A Gem I like today at $12 and $3.50

Any runner of theirs on the grass you have to be wary of and are always under the odds, like Winterfell was .

Great drive from Tim, but no doubt their horses go better when they are about

There are many chances in the race and the odds are interesting. Silver Surfer, Flying Mandy and The Artful Dodger are all pretty short. There is more value around Mono Gamble at 8ff, Awesome Impee 11ff, DD's Super Stuart 19ff and the absolute bolter, Just Another Legend, at 71ff, who ran a pretty good race at Ashburton last time and was backed in on the fixed odds from memory but it hasn't happened this time. However, the field is full of headcases so I think Awesome Impee should get handy, will handle the grass and be running on strongly. I think it is her time to win. I have taken a place multi of Prodigal Guiness ,Awesome Impee and Carita at odds of $11.20 I also see Westview's tip from Ashburton, Stevie Lynn is in Race 4 at 18ff and 5ff. A much better race to be in and the draw is ok. Certainly way over the odds. Did back up but never enough on when they win 1

Brodie used to take her there often before she was unintentionally gelded in a stable 'incident' After the very good day I had at Mot today I have set her up and sent her on her merry way. She said something about going to a 'ship with a pretty flag' but I couldn't quite hear right as she walks quite noisily. Must be a bit wet where ever she is going cos she was mumbling about an umbrella. Good luck to whoever the lucky guy is.

Funny I've just had an old woman with a deep voice and a beard knock on the door and ask if a Mr rangatira lived around here, said he promised her a feed of fish and chips and a bucket of pippis, said she was sick of Brodie putting restrictions on what she eats!

I am unsure of Mark Purdon's UDR stats for grass tracks, but he has won at least half a dozen Methven Cups that I know of, so his horses go alright on the grass. There were a few times at Geraldine however where his horses hadn't run as well as expected. I would have thought the reason as to why the Purdon runners don't usually race on the grass tracks is due to the poorer stake levels, moreso than underperforming on grass, but you have raised an interesting point to follow.
Brodie
I don’t believe that the AllStars horses do go that well on the grass compared to the Allweather. Due to the fact that grass is a great leveller and far slower than the allweather obviously. Often when the grass track racing is on also, the 2 in charge at the AllStars stables are overseas , and horses are not getting the same treatment!! 1
