Last week I came across a lady who knew I followed the horses.

She told me that her son was very keen on Harness  racing so recently she had rung up Mark purdon and asked if he had anything from Lazarus that he could send her for her sons birthday.. I thought she was pulling my leg ,but no, she did get to speak to mark purdon  who went out of his way to sort something out and to her delight he organized,at his expense, for  a lovely framed picture of Lazarus in action to be sent to her son..Her son is very proud to have received it she tells me.

No surprise that she told me she was a  big fan of the all stars and that purdon was a top bloke.

As you say, a very nice thing to do. One thing the A.S have is a very good p.r machine, you won't get them getting into debates online and loosing a bit of credibility like Mr house has done recently on the dark side.

As a (slight) aside, I believe All Stars have leased a barn at Pukekohe for the year.

They sure have. The barns getting a decent tidy up before they start up

I wonder if the owners of the 'closet' All Stars horses with different trainers will send them north to Pukekohe to race for the better stakes. The likes of Lone Star Lad etc.

I'm sure Lone Star Lad will be there - Casey always races both venues and no doubt that it will be in the ID's and then stay on for the December racing.    Most of A.S. owners in same situation and you can expect a big/strong team.   Don't know how many that barn could accommodate but previous occupier ran a fair size team.

Sounds like a good idea, send all of them to the N.I.
