Gammalite
Draws are out and Aussies have drawn the Pole in both finals to give them a chance ?? Probably not , No Popular Alm here. and he got run down from Pole draw 1983 anyway. Blacks A Fake, a 4 time champion ,led from barrier 2 in 2011 Final, then handed up to Smokin Up and couldn't beat him thereafter running 3rd for Nat. (Promoted to 2nd Later) . Ultimate Sniper to go for lead for her (Nat) this time around as well, I would think, as the hot favourite, and Winterfell drawn 2 in the trotting Final, start writing the cheque now probably?? No mate not piss off, PISS IN, like Winterfell has a pretty good chance of doing as the NATIONAL RECORD HOLDER at 3.20.5 over the track and distance, drawn 2 (pretty good Barrier, GAMMALITE won there from that barrier incidently ), trained by the best Trainers your nation has ever seen in MP and NR, paying $1.70 for the win currently. Reasonable chance ?????? whatever your Facade. Don't have to be on the Payroll to pick that one.

At least the trotters final may go off script. If people wonder why there is no excitement in the pacer's final it is because it is seemingly a done deal, and if it isn't, a stablemate will win it. Even some harness followers don't get excited by it so why should the public or media? No amount of exposure will replace the need for a self creating drama of a genuine head to head battle or a storyline like U May Cullect or an undefeated horse like Winx. There are only so many times one can can rehash the dominance of one stable before it becomes numbing.
Flagship uberalles
Well said happy, personally if I miss the pacers final I'm really not fussed, not one of those horses I would consider a crowd puller. As you say with the trotters there is still an unwritten script about them.
Blackie
Hi Happy I think the late , great Maurice Holmes once said “ I only ever took one certainly to the races....and it got beat”. So anything can happen. The only way to lose a race is not turn up, been demonstrated many times. Just recently Vincent lost a tyre in the Derby when hotpot in Aussie. We wouldn’t have racing if everyone stayed at home. Here’s to a great contest. Cheers 2

I think it just makes it harder in terms of publicity and generating interest pre race. Maybe the golden days of the interdoms are gone and the only thing sustaining Cup Day is the social occasion that goes with it.

Gammalite
Just recently Vincent lost a tyre in the Derby when hotpot in Aussie. We wouldn’t have racing if everyone stayed at home. Derby night 2017 , $1.40 Vincent beaten out of the race, by an out- of- control local cannoning in to his wheel. Bling It On running past Smolda to win the Hunter Cup and Speeding Spur for the NZ trotters supporters and the Dickie Clan, beaten just a head in The Great Southern Star. 2 odds-on kiwis won that night. Lazarus at $1.10 in the 4 yearolds , and Hughie Green $1.80. Hughie Now currently racing in Brisbane right at this moment, and non winner for 13 races since winter now. ( Horses are pretty good in Brissy hahahahah)

So you think Ultimate Sniper is a done deal to win because its 1.45. You may well be right but im not so sure and certainly dont think its any value 1.45. The draws and subsequent runs may well have the biggest bearing on the outcome IMHO i actually like The Fixer for a place despite its ugly draw but want 2.30plus before i would unload Thanks for actually answering our question before the race , it makes a change from some Greg Edited December 8, 2019 by JJ Flash
