I thought that would be blatantly obvious since the TAB has it at 1.45 to win the final. 1.45 is double what ftm/Jj would normally take?

I think it just makes it harder in terms of publicity and generating interest pre race. Maybe the golden days of the interdoms are gone and the only thing sustaining Cup Day is the social occasion that goes with it. 1

Happy Sunrise
How is your blood pressure Globe? I can answer your question Mr McCarthy - The fact that Winterfell was a head case and breaking all the time didn't help him be mentioned in calculations. Before I get written off as anti AS. Go back in previous discussions and you will see I have always liked Winterfell. I bet on him for the Dominion when the markets came out and before the emergence of Oscar. Boorish personal cynicism indeed Mr McCarthy.

Fact is, the race is not a one horse affair, and there are several chances that can win on any given day given the right run and some luck.

MM has more speed off the gate so it is plaintively obvious what the tactics will be. Otherwise you end up parked or sit in the trail and get pushed back as they come around from the back. Purdon is going to have to drive Winterfell hard off the arm and that,s his Achilles heel, and MM can stay as well as sprint. Remember he sat parked on record pace and wasnt knocked around to finish 3rd, and but for racing room on first night would have run past Winterfell before they hit the line. Oh and dont forget his 1.55 mile rate over the sprint winning as he liked with Winterfell a distant 4th. If we win and I think we can, you will see me standing with the others basking in the limelight with two fingers up Gammalite, make sure you are watching., 2

If you're so dirty with the world , and Allstars and Gammalite then how about a full mooning to show the world how you really feel.??? Now that would put us all in our place, who dare to question ones limelight moment. lol

I do wish GLOBE well and in fact posted the following to him last Saturday, so wondered what he was on about. Quote:------ MajesticMan will be fine in the final. The way I see it you have more in your favour than not. 1.Your horse is trotting well in gait and looks great! Great trainer of trotters is this man. 2. Mark has only one horse in this final. If he gets an easy lead with Winterfell , granted it will be hard, but no one to help him this time. 3. Habibi Inta suddenly trotting like he has chains on his legs. 4. Marcoola has been unable to win a heat as an unusual driving selection. Can't see her steering to win a final on the 3 heat drives. 5. Tony Herlihy will be trying very hard to win with his trotte,r so probably NoHelp to brother-in-law Mark on this occasion. 6. MMan has an enthusiastic Griffins bunch of owners to cheer him on the loudest !!!!! Good Luck Mate !? 2
globederby12
I have been known to become quite animated at times , especially if there are any baseball bats around. So don,t take anything I say personally, its mostly tounge in cheek . Win or lose its a great thing to be apart of. 1 1

I was not the one labeling some sort of cert and quite clearly Holy Rav saw your original post the same way. I think the bit you dont get in all of this is that Favs dont necessarily win and when the Box seat labels one should we not all be concerned. Has Mark Purdon ever won an interdom final but given he has six runner sin this years event he will probably win it. As i said at the right price i being a value punter prefer The Fixer for a place but by all means you unload on the Sniper at 1.45 and i hope you collect Greg

Barry with 3. Interestingly the brothers qualified 5 runners between them for the 1999 Auckland final but didn't get Top 2, won by Our Sir Vancelot, but with 8 this time should be winning. Mark has won 2 of the last 3 Grandfinals (Smolda and Lazarus) both way over in Perth, WA.

Good luck to all the owners of horse in both finals, im sure neither will be a dull event Greg
