Murray Fish
anyone managed to read the stipes report? I couldn't get it to open!
billy connolly
Was it 2400 or 3400 metres ? If a horse does an extra half lap pre race WITHOUT the jock a half-baked vet scratches it, if a horse does an extra half lap pre race WITH the jock a half-baked vet lets it start ! Doesn't say hell of a lot except inquiry ongoing and starter was stood down for last two races.

A false start was declared after it became apparent PINMEDOWN had not been loaded into its barrier stall. ROGER THAT immediately returned to the Birdcage and was declared a late scratching at 4.38pm with all remaining horses returning to the start to undergo veterinary examinations. SENTIMENTAL MISS and JUSTAMAIZ were subsequently declared late scratchings on veterinary advice at 4.42pm. As a result this race started 16 minutes late at 4.49pm...... Following the race an investigation was opened into the circumstances surrounding the starting incident with the starter Mr T Harrison being stood down from his duties for the remaining two races. After taking evidence from a number of parties the inquiry was adjourned to a later date.

SLB2.0
Shouldn't have been a false start. Just scratch Pinmedown, much better than the alternative.
holy ravioli
Jockeys declared it a false start by pulling up in the...running.AFAIK.
Happy Sunrise
So what happens in gallops when there is a false start? Is there a person with a flag 200m down the track with a flag or something similar? Up to the Clerk of the course? How could they run so far? There should be adequate backup systems in place so that jockeys are immediately made aware there is an issue - ie: as well as a siren going off there should be TWO clerks of course stationed at TWO different points post start to signal the false start. There is absolutely no point in having clerks of course parading behind barrier stalls pre race.

Yes, I deleted my day's racing, read the b/S about the red hood, but couldn't go back to check. Didn't want to post without having correct facts...but clearly, told lies. Can forgive a human error but not porkies.
