Heart breaking for industry participants to see this .
Chief Stipe
I thought they had 33 full-time workers. Are their part-time workers more full-time than we thought? That is a subsidy of over $5k per person.

Chief Stipe
So if we exclude the clubs.....total employees and subsidies for those that "manage" the industry: 786 employees! Total subsidy: $5,191,371 Note these figures don't include club employees!!!! Nor contractors who have all been left to find their own subsidies (fair enough). Trotsfan
Does anyone have some figures on Aussie racing to compare how many employees they have in there 3 codes . the state of Victoria is similar size and population to us just a bit bigger so would be a good state to comare with us

Victoria has nearly 2 million more people. 70 thoroughbred tracks, 40 harness tracks and 14 greyhound tracks.

Start from the basic metrics and work upward. How many licensed participants do we have in each code? How many official trials and race meetings do we have each week? How many people do we need to service those meetings working on a 40 hour week? Don't worry about travel.
$ BILL
Amazing Can those at the top explain with any detail what all these employees do on a day to day basis ? Could somebody please ask the question. And what do they cost the industry daily/weekly/annually. You must be certain that it is an insane amount more than could be justified and many more times than income produced. Only one outcome BROKE. Don't worry Bernard and mates are ok. Bugger you lot that actually make the industry tick. CRAZY. 1

holy ravioli
as they say we are all Socialists now. Top heavy administration, ramped up in the Stiassny years has gobbled up all the extra funding racing has received . A sinecure that people are reluctant to let go of. Over paid ,underperforming incompetents.

Murray Fish
Good thread CS. it is in times of Crisis like these! when often true insights can be brutally gleaned!!!! One of the good points about this current 'follow the money trail' subsidy. is that it is nice and transparent!!! YES! I'm more interested to see what actual 'good advise' to the Coalface has/is coming out of 'head office', practical I hope! Is everyone actually getting what they entitled to!!
