Happy Sunrise
https://www.lincolnfarms.co.nz/stories/auckland-does-the-leg-work-to-prove-horse-numbers-warrant-more-racing-at-the-park/ So Lincoln Farms, who seem to have have the ear of ATC and are miles ahead of HRNZ getting information out, have produced this article with a table of horses who will be able to race. However, it just goes to show the lines of communication are so poor that a club of ATC's size cannnot even pass on their investigative numbers to HRNZ or RITA with this paragraph. “Clearly the people who have drawn up this calendar haven’t had information like this. We don’t know who they consulted. I wonder if they even know what the numbers are in Waikato?” So who made the harness racing calendar? Did HRNZ do it and they did not confer with the ATC? Did RITA do it and none of their 595 employees have the foresight to ask the club? It is good to know that racing in the north will soon have large numbers of horses to race. Horse number crisis over. He discovered 97 horses would be fit enough to race in June, enough he says for at least a seven or eight-race card at Alexandra Park every week. “And in July there’ll be another 75 ready so we’ll be in clover.” The trainers named a further 48 horses whom they expect to be ready by August and another 11 in September. “And those figures don’t include 68 new qualifiers. There’ll be one ready in May, 34 in June-July, 21 in July-August and 12 in August-September.”

Taku Umanga
Let's wait and see if there are 97 Auckland trained horses nominated for the first June meetings in the North - I anticipate NOT! How can there be one horse ready to qualify in May when nobody's meant to be fast working?

Brodie
Prey tell us why horses can not be fast worked at the moment? If someone wants to,work their horse at any speed they like, why can’t they by now. They are hardly likely to be spreading any virus to anyone! If it was the fact that all these trainers and drivers if they weren’t hurt, would put pressure on the hospital, then that is just BS! Hospitals are barely half full and nurses and doctors have never been so quiet!!!!!

Because HRNZ made an order to that effect - and from memory stated that a breach of the order would be considered a serious offence.

Brodie
God help us when the yearly flu virus hits us in Winter! More people will be infected by influenza and kill a lot more from this. We have a stuffed NZ economy because of this!

The Flu season will be worse because of the Covid-19 restrictions. The normal vaccination process hasn't happened. Also Covid-19 isn't going away when it reemerges during the flu season we will have a double hit.
Noodlum
I would have thought that the Government as part of its $80 billion spend up would have broadened the availability of free flu vaccinations.

Noodlum, there are more killed every year in NZ from the flu every year. There are about 800 people die every week in NZ from a variety of things and we are in lockdown because we have a few elderly frail vulnerable people pass away with the instruction not to resuscitate? When influenza hits and people catch it, are we all going to be locked down like this every year because vulnerable people have been admitted to hospital? Seriously, this has been overplayed by a leader that is power crazy! Australia haven’t been in totally lockdown like us and yet their death rate is less tha. Hours percentage wise! Oz was told that they could have 150,000 deaths and they have had just over 70! The damage has been done to the country due to the decisions that the government has made, although so many have been totally brainwashed by this virus! What about the deaths in usa what about Italy what about Germany come on Brodie your sounding alot like Bridges and what is going to happen with him I think we had low amount of deaths so far is because we locked down early I really dont know why you think lock down has been a game

Italy is similar but also in the north they have the oldest population coupled with the most air pollution. What is showing up in the stats is those that have the most deaths have a very aged population living in a densely populated area with lots of air pollution. We don't have any of those. For example Dublin has 5 times the population density of Auckland and has the corresponding death rate. Lock down hasn't been a game. However has it been the best option? Is it optimal to have 50% of our hospitals empty? My sister is a senior nurse and she has nothing to do. She has not patients to care for.

There are far more deaths every year due to the normal flu! 800 deaths in NZ every week and not locked down! Will be heaps of deaths due to the consequences of being locked up! Generations will be indebted due to the lockdowns, The situation should have been monitored and when numbers were what they were, things should’ve been amended. Telling us everyday the no. Of positives and probables is a waste of time when most of the positives had very minor symptoms at worst, many with no symptoms. The random tests in Queenstown, ChCh, Waikato and Auckland had ZERO positives! The fact that many positives have no symptoms shows that it is not a killer virus at all! The virus strikes vulnerable people in Rest Homes but the standard yearly flu kills them every damn year without the country being locked up! You can believe what you want, your prerogative but the fact is that the modelling of having 28,000 dying from Covid19 just shows what a load of BS it is and stating g it is because of the early lockdown is a cop out! Adults have to be locked up but it is ok for school kids to go,to,school, that is because the virus in NZ is no worse than the flu. Are we getting locked up again when the winter flu hits? Why haven’t the hospitals been doing operations when the hospitals are so empty? So much scaremongering by the government and media!!!!!
