Bit Of A Yarn

Woohoo! Go Freda, Celine and Tina!

The reason I got on was because Freda explained on BOAY what happened at Celines last start after a good win.  "My little mare got a warning through no fault of her own" says Freda.

So when I saw her at those odds well - karma really.  Fuck the RIU fuck the bookies.

Thanks very much see you!

Tina rode a very well judged race.

As for your mare being small - she does look good in the hindquarters.  Which is something I like.

Yes, she is good to follow...and developing all the time.  She was an underwhelming youngster.

Well done Freda.  I don't think she will mind a better track either.  Mind you that will be a while before you get one at Riccarton.  Looks like Pitty is looking for better tracks too!  😉

She won her maiden on a good track, but with a quarter-crack that has dogged her from day one, very firm ground would not be a great idea.

I'm sure you will benefit from 'interested parties' after that win Pam,.....your skill and patience rewarded, if you've got 100 horses anyone will get winners, when you've got a small string its so much harder,  having good owners helps of course and no doubt your phone has been ringing.

I've always wondered how its possible for a horse to grow another leg when its a heavy track. Then it hit me. They don't gain one they lose one. I used to ride a small horse all over the place and was amazed how consistently it avoided potholes and such like. Turned out a decent wet track galloper. Perhaps thats one of the key elements of a wet tracker.

I dont believe Celine is a true wet tracker.  Just has to be trained that way as Freda pointed out.

I trained one that was by a Stallion who got swimmers, he was out of NZ's champion 2yo of her year, by Alvaro and she was a swimmer.....my bloke was legless in it, hopeless, yet won on fast at Kyneton and started 15-1 in a Gr2.......there's no rule to it.
