Davis
Who will the Haras des Trotteurs Sires Stakes Championship Mobile Trot at Alexandra Park tonight? It is disapointing that there is only a small field of six trotters and realistically there are only two or three that have a chance. Will the Williamson pair improve enough to beat Tony Herlihy's Bolt For Brilliance? I don't think they can after Bolt For Brilliance bolted in last start in a NZ record. To my mind, the Williamson horses haven't been performing as well this season as they have in the past. Perhaps the trainer has lost his mojo or are the horses not good enough? The small field will help Herlihy as his horse has the speed to sit off the pace and make his move when he chooses. It will be an interesting race but where have all the trotters gone? You are putting down 2 horses having their first go at the park and one setup the 2.39 pace and the other went fantastic for 2nd. I'd say they have a chance at beating Bolt for Brilliance this time by either Ultimate Stride or Cracker Hill. As for where are the others, they are scared to take on the 3 top seeds, happens all the time, why run when your best may be 3rd? When you can tackle a lesser caliber race on the card.

Carted a flat tyre for most of the trip tonight. And the opposition were handy types, not mugs. Possibly one of the most exciting horses (trotter, pacer or galloper) in the country right now? Excluding the mighty Spitfire.

Yes will definitely be interesting to see how he goes, reminds me of last year with people saying same thing about Oscar Bonavena, 4yo is a very difficult year for the good trotters. I cant wait to see the line up for the Anzac and Rowe Cup which could be the best field in years and years

Guess where the flat tire occurred and Herlihy only got a caution? I guess we are back to judicial inconsistency! I guess you have to be Colin De Fillipi to get put out. De fillipi was a different charge., But i do agree Herlihy was lucky to get off with just a caution. He clearly had to make contact with the horse inside him to take up the postion in the trail. He ,along with other high profile drivers like z butcher seem to have a different set of rules, almost untouchable, if they are at meetings run by the north island stipes.
