The Spitfire although from the number of starts it has had, you would think would have ring craft even though lacking ability! Still believe it galloped free of interference at Ashburton, and hopefully the current owners only leased the horse! Still can not see why they are bothering when other trainers have now got the stitch! Made a right mess of it. Poor Craig Thornley and Jim Curtin (trailing him in the race) did an amazing job to stay in their sulkies when Spitfire 'Danced to a standstill' at Ashburton when they were following along the inside in the running. You have to be kidding, drawn 8 against a field that is not as bad as it has been racing against! Seriously, what punters are dumb enough to take those odds?
