The horse doesn't know what its paying.

There are so many variables to consider and often luck is the decisive factor.

Pricing horses is usually done by strict form analysis..i.e what is known about performance.

Why did Romancer pay $124.50 to win early this year?

Interesting you should mention Romancer, I backed it. Wouldn't have touched it at 5s, but at $124 I thought there was a bit of overs there.

I also got Chat when she won at Kembla at 50s a couple of months ago. Once again I wouldn't have touched her at 5s.

You will never make money punting taking unders.

' but at $124 I thought there was a bit of overs there.'..just a BIT...Lol.

Chat was overs after her run behind Phoebeter beating Fasika...and as far as unders goes...generally you won't win with hot favs.

There's a problem somewhere , if not then she has not really come up but i would think they would have seen something .

Sometimes fillies , especially the good 3yo's , just don't come up as 4yo's for whatever reason .

She hasn't even been racing 12 months . Maybe her body is just not coping and needs more time .

I remember Mick Preston had a very good filly many years ago called Lady Primrose , i think , was one of the better 3yo fillies , anyway just never came up as a 4yo , and he said it happens , you just have to be patient , give them time out and they often come back as older mares and perform very well .

Many examples of what you say...when she didn't jump into a handy position,I was surprised.I bet exotics mainly...no big loss.Colette has a rep as a mudder...nice ride all the same.

Didn't back her.  Certainly not at 10's.

I don't understand what 10's has to do with it , if you think it can win , which i did , you back it at the best price you can get , if it wins and you haven't backed it then there is only one loser .

I pick the horse i think can win a race then i look for the best price i can get , even if that means i'm sitting by my computer till right on start time .

I'd be more pissed if it won and i didn't back it because i thought it should be longer .

Call it my peculiar little system.  I didn't see 10's as value in the end.

Once again you show you have no idea on a wide range of subjects.  Well most things actually.  When can we expect your next erudite posting?

Bit like your Labour Government all promises and no delivery.  Such is your socialist manifesto.

Probably the opposite to what I do. Don't necessarily back the horse I think most likely to win, rather the ones that I think are priced greater than what I rate their chance of winning.
