  1. By the fact that you DON'T name names but by inference bring the whole industry into disrepute. The irony is if you aren't using the medications that are available today on your horse then your horse's health is suffering.
  2. Why do they need to make enquiries? Everything is published and the alleged drugs in question are specifically tested for. The bigger question you should ask is what are the connections to the privately owned but industry funded NZ testing Lab. Is that Lab up to date with testing technology? Should NZ outsource more to other international standard Labs and overseas? Is the RIB wasting too much money on pointless investigations like INCA? Why don't they release the full details of the test results for positives particularly in environmental contamination cases? My opinion on why they don't is that anyone with an ounce of knowledge on the subject would know that the levels detected cannot but performance enhancing.
  3. BECAUSE THE VET WAS SUCH A FRAUD THAT THEY WEREN'T EVEN GETTING WHAT THEY WERE ALLEGED TO BE GETTING! It's the oldest scam in the book!
  4. YES. YES. YES. I have read most of what had been reported even the detailed court documents. There were over 2,000 people on the dodgy Vet's customer list. How many of them are in jail for USING these so called PEDS? How many positives were recorded? 6 for none of the drugs that they were supposedly receiving. If anything the 2,000 on the list are victims as they were defrauded and given something that wasn't true to label. Assuming of course that there was actually anything in the stuff.
  5. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE STATE THE FACT THAT HE WASN'T JAILED FOR PEDDLING PEDS BUT FOR MISLABELLING E.G. FRAUD!!!!!!
  6. There has hasn't there? Not that we would know because they don't publish the test results in detail.
  7. Bury their head in the sand about what? Some theory that there is widespread drug cheating? WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE!!! What FACT? IN THE USA. Where is the NZ evidence? The vet went to jail because of label fraud. Arguably most of the people that bought the snake oil thought it was something else. Where are the positives in the USA for the use of the mislabelled products?
  8. There are all sorts of barriers to overcome to get the alleged drugs into NZ let alone use then without being detected. The details of what they were and who was on the list have been publicly available for quite sometime. Yet nothing has been found in NZ. According to @Archie Butterfly they're sprinkling the stuff on their breakfast cereal out at Woodend Beach. Yet nothing absolutely nothing has been found. Accept it's because there isn't anything to find.
  9. No let's not "put that to one side". NZ spent 7 times that amount of money on INCA and found SFA. There is no evidence of extensive PED use in NZ. You conveniently overlook the fact that only about six on the list returned positives. The others allegedly were sold and it is presumed they used the mislabelled drugs but no evidence from testing confirmed their use. Now you may argue those drugs aren't testable when in fact they are. Just like @Archie Butterfly aka Peter Profit you are casting aspersions on unamed license holders in NZ and OZ without any evidence. It is destructive and harmful.
  10. Where's the evidence?
  11. He has had a long history in the industry fullstop.
  12. About time you got it. If a dog is presented to the races and wins and them returns a positive swab for obvious reasons it has much more gravitas than an out of competition swab positive probably due to environmental comtamination.
  13. Really @Freda then why bother training or doing anything with horses? Isn't just as cruel to put bits in their mouths and practically blind fold with blinkers?
  14. Just don't use it. Carry it but don't use it and put a strong rider on to teach it some race manners. As for the article it's nonsense. It mixes up a romantic notion of the horse without considering the 100's of years of selective breeding and partnership with humans. The best horses I've been involved with have been fighters not horses fleeing some perceived danger.
  15. They don't mirror each other at all based on the facts. But then facts have never been your strong point.
  16. But the circumstances around the P charge are quite different hence the difference in penalty and other conditions. But Chazza you just keep on keeping on attacking the industry so apparently have a some concern for.
  17. What a load of emotional claptrap. Why don't we just stop riding horses fullstop and stop forcing then to do something they are not designed for.
  18. The Schofield P case is different to McInerney's. The McInerney dog returned a positive test out of completion. The Schofield dog won a race I believe and returned a positive from the post race swab.
  19. That's good. You can't make money that way.
  20. What odds are you offering?
  21. Where is the inconsistency?
  22. Oh.....so the decision has been published. How did others know before hand?
  23. NZTR and Entain are today announcing a further stakes increase to the TAB Karaka Millions meeting, set to be held on 27 January 2024 at Ellerslie. Stakes increase for Westbury Classic to further bolster TAB Karaka Millions New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) and Entain are today announcing a further stakes increase to the TAB Karaka Millions meeting, set to be held on 27 January 2024 at Ellerslie. The Group 2 Westbury Classic will receive a significant prizemoney boost, increasing from $300,000 to $500,000. The 1400 metre race for fillies and mares has been run since 2006 and has been won by numerous New Zealand racing stars, including the current sprinting sensation, Imperatriz and Champion Sprinter-Miler Levante. NZTR Chief Executive Officer, Bruce Sharrock is thrilled to see further enhancements made to strengthen stakes in New Zealand. “The TAB Karaka Millions meeting has established itself as one of the highlight events on New Zealand’s racing calendar. The meeting not only provides our industry with the opportunity to deliver a world-class evening of racing, but also offers fans the ultimate racing experience. “NZTR has already supported a boost to the race card, announced earlier this year with the addition of an Open Class $1 million four-year-old race, and an increase in stakes to the $1.5 million Karaka Million three-year-old race. We now have a significantly enhanced meeting, and the latest increase in stakes to the Westbury Classic solidifies NZTR’s commitment to driving wagering and participation in our sport. “NZTR has collaborated closely with Entain since the announcement of the strategic partnering arrangement in May. Already, numerous exciting initiatives have been set into motion to take our sport to new heights and we are looking forward to continuing to work closely with Entain as we enter a new era for our sport,” Sharrock said. Entain Managing Director – New Zealand, Cameron Rodger is excited by this latest boost for fillies and mares. “Providing elite racing opportunities for our future broodmares is one of the key pillars we believe is required to supercharge the New Zealand industry and this initiative with NZTR is a great example of that,” Rodger said. Westbury Stud General Manager Russell Warwick also welcomes the increase to next year’s Westbury Classic stake. “We’ve been so proud to be associated with this race since its inception in 2006. The stake that year was $35,000 so to see the stakes reach half a million dollars is a massive vote of confidence for the race going forward. “With such an impressive prize pool on offer, we expect a great field of fillies and mares to line up in January and we can’t wait to see who takes out the 2024 running,” Warwick said. The increase in stakes to the Westbury Classic comes alongside news of a newly established partnership between Entain and ATR. The wagering operator and Club have joined forces to enhance the racing experience for fans at Ellerslie and Pukekohe. This long-term partnership entails the sponsorship of the New Zealand Derby at Ellerslie, which will be renamed the Trackside New Zealand Derby. Additionally, it includes the prominent sponsorship of the Counties Cup at Pukekohe, as well as the establishment of a new TAB Lounge to be built at Ellerslie. “We congratulate Entain and ATR on their new partnership venture. It’s great to see a focus on enhancing our fans’ experience, aiming to attract higher participation in our race days,” Sharrock said.
